CALL TO WORSHIP                                    Lindsay Anderson

but the beautiful truth is:

God is already with us.

God is always with us.

So in this time together,

let us lift our voices in praise

of this loving, ever-present God!

CALL TO CONFESSION

PRAYER OF CONFESSION

Merciful God,

 we acknowledge our guilt,

and seek your face and your forgiveness.

For we have not offered steadfast love

 to you or each other.

We have not moved forward in faith,

but have allowed ourselves to be stifled by fear.

Revive us, raise us up,

that we might live before you,

rejoicing in the knowledge of your love.

ASSURANCE OF GOD’S GRACE

GODLY PLAY: Work Day

A work day is a Sunday when the students don't hear a story. During our typical Sunday morning time there is often not enough time for some of our art responses or to explore all they want to in the classroom so we have work days where the children are able to more fully engage in the "Play" part of Godly Play.

We hope you will join us at 10:15am for songs and memory verse time in the lounge. At 10:30, children will go downstairs to Godly Play, and adults will go upstairs to worship. Students will be brought upstairs for the final hymn.

LECTIONARY TEXTS

For anyone wishing to study the lectionary texts this week,

June 11th, the Lectionary texts are:

Matthew 9:9-13, 18-26 (worship)

Psalm 33 (sermon)

Genesis 12:1-9

Hosea 5:15- 6:6

Psalm 50:7-15

Romans 4:13-25

MISSION & SOCIAL ACTION

Please give generously to the Pentecost Offering which helps guide young people in Christian formation from their early years to adulthood. 40% of our collection stays with our congregation to support local ministries with children, youth, and young adults. The other 60% supports young adult volunteers serving in communities around the world, youth ministries like Presbyterian Youth Triennium, and to improve education for at-risk youth. You can give through the St. James website with the drop down tab for Pentecost offering, or in the collection envelopes that will be distributed in your bulletin on the 18th and collected on the 25th. You may also give online pcusa.org/donatepentecost. Thank you for prayerfully considering a donation.
