    The Priority of the Kingdom

    Matthew 6:33 ESV
    33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

    "But seek first the kingdom of God..."

    "seek" (zēteō) = a craving or a preoccupied pursuit.

    It’s not a casual look; it’s a diligent search.

    The Kingdom of God is simply the "rule and reign of God over every area of life." —Dr. Tony Evans

    If God doesn’t have the right of way in your business, your dating life, or your temper, then He isn’t your King; He’s just your consultant.

    Is God your "steering wheel" or your "spare tire"?

    Do you use Him only when you have a flat, or is He directing the path?

    The Pattern of the King

    (And His Righteousness)

    "...and his righteousness..."

    It’s not enough to seek God’s hand (what He can give); we must seek His heart (who He is)

    Seeking His righteousness means aligning our "right" with His "right."

    (The Bible) We have to stop asking "What do I feel is right?" and start asking "What does the King say is right?"

    The Promise of the King

    (All These Things)

    "...and all these things will be added to you."

    This is the result, not the requirement.

    The "things" (food, clothes, bills, status) aren't the goal;

    These are the “added benefits” of being in the Kingdom.

    Dr. Marcus Cosby often highlights that God is a "Jehovah Jireh" who provides according to His purpose.

    When you take care of God’s business, God takes care of your burden.
