    2 Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, 3 now that you have tasted that the Lord is good. 4 As you come to him, the living Stone—rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to him— 5 you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. 6 For in Scripture it says: “See, I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and precious cornerstone, and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame.” 7 Now to you who believe, this stone is precious. But to those who do not believe, “The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone,” 8 and, “A stone that causes people to stumble and a rock that makes them fall.” They stumble because they disobey the message—which is also what they were destined for. 9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 10 Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

    Craving Spiritual Nourishment

    Craving Spiritual Nourishment

    New Born infants crave what nurtures them.
    Crying baby is trial and error
    Believers must desire God’s word for their spiritual nourishment and Maturity.
    A kid skipping Dinner: Late I am hungry well DUH!
    It is our recognizing our need for him in our nourishment we start to see the foundation of our reliance on God.

    A good arch is amazing
    That one Stone is essential
    A good foundation is only as strong as its cornerstone that bears so much of the weight.
    We are called to build our homes and our community on Christ.
    This has gotten away from us in many ways. We prioritize other things in our lives over God.
    This doesn’t mean church is the only thing that is important but its the whole of our lives.
    Let’s ask this question. How often do you think about God outside of Sunday?
    Be honest!
    We are in this together as a community and we must realize that if the cornerstone of our homes, community, and church are not built on a strong Cornerstone the building will fail.

    Cornerstone of our Identity

    Cornerstone of our Identity

    The stone that was rejected was used to build upon.
    the very thing that people thought we don’t need was the key foundation to the whole thing.
    This is hard for some people to accept
    Even this morning the idea that many of us don’t think about God outside of sunday morning is hard to hear or our first response is to reject it.
    We are called to it though.
    We are called to build who we are in him.
    To trust in him
