  • Review ALL IN series. Purpose for the series: how our discipleship process is just beginning like it was for them…
Remember for the last few weeks, we have been focusing on the return of reverence and repentance that occurs in Acts 5, and now we are coming to the end of the chapter…
As a result of this return, we see an uptick in the supernatural…
Last week we said, how can we see miracles if we don’t believe in transformation?
The greatest miracle of all is that God can transform someone so thoroughly that they become what is described in scripture as a “New Creation, the old has passed away and the new has come.”
You can come as you are, we welcome you to meet Jesus as you are, but when you meet Him… He changes everything…
When you meet him, nothing is the same…
When He touches you, light shows up in the darkness…
Life breaks through the dead place…
The hold of sin and desire are broken…
And Freedom reigns in your life!
What we see is after the church shows her reverence and repents, God starts showing up differently…
    Acts 5:14–16 NASB95
14 And all the more believers in the Lord, multitudes of men and women, were constantly added to their number, 15 to such an extent that they even carried the sick out into the streets and laid them on cots and pallets, so that when Peter came by at least his shadow might fall on any one of them. 16 Also the people from the cities in the vicinity of Jerusalem were coming together, bringing people who were sick or afflicted with unclean spirits, and they were all being healed.
    Title: Think Bigger
Look at the person next to you and tell them, Think Bigger…
You’re not thinking big enough yet… Think Bigger…
Whatever big looks like for you, think bigger…
For decades, the world believed that running a mile in under four minutes was impossible. Experts claimed the human body wasn’t designed to go that fast. Scientists warned that attempting it could even be dangerous. The record hovered just above four minutes, and athletes seemed to hit a wall.
Then, on May 6, 1954, a young British medical student named Roger Bannister defied all the odds. In front of a modest crowd at Oxford University, Bannister crossed the finish line with a time of 3 minutes, 59.4 seconds, breaking the mythical four-minute barrier.
But here’s where the story gets even more fascinating. Once Bannister proved it was possible, the floodgates opened. Just 46 days later, Australian runner John Landy also ran a mile in under four minutes. Within a few years, dozens of runners around the world shattered the barrier that had once seemed insurmountable. Today, running a sub-four-minute mile is almost routine for elite athletes.
So what changed? Human physiology didn’t. What changed was the belief that it could be done. Bannister’s achievement didn’t just break a record—it shattered the mental limits that had been holding runners back for generations.
I think sometimes we put God in a box of our own making, expecting Him to do what He has always done the way He has always done it…
We expect a specific order of service… We expect a certain type of music…
When we talk about spiritual gifts, we immediately jump to tongues and interpretation, because that’s what we expect…
When I get to heaven, I’m going to ask Peter why He thought it was a good idea to get out of the boat…
Tell the story… Why did Peter not demand Jesus come, rather than Peter go?
And here we have Peter again doing something no one has seen before… He’s walking by and people are getting healed from being in his shadow…
Look at v. 16… and they were ALL being healed!
Peter… WHO told you this would work? What gave you the idea to get out of the boat? What made you think your shadow would be a point of contact?
You know what I think Peter would answer? “He told us to think bigger.”
    John 14:12 NASB95
12 “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father.
    Expand on Verse
Here’s what I believe: If we will come to God with a repentant heart, in reverence and respect of who He is…
He will lead us where we have not gone, in ways we have not walked, living a way of life we thought impossible…
You may be sitting here right now thinking, “There’s no way I can live a Christian life… I can’t do with all the rules… I can’t give up the things I like…”
Or maybe you’re thinking, “I can’t change the way I am, I can’t do what these people are doing…”
“I don’t know how to reach my friends and family… I can’t talk about my faith to other people…”
“God doesn’t need me, He could use someone else…”
But I came her e this morning to encourage you… THINK BIGGER!
    Ephesians 3:20 NASB95
20 Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us,
Far more abundantly… KJV says Exceedingly and abundantly… beyond what we ask or think…
    Here’s the key… According to… the power that… what?
    WORKS IN US…
He’s got to work in you to work through you…
    Let Him work IN you…
Christianity isn’t asking you to follow rules and put on an act… We believe in real transformation…
And if we believe in real transformation, that means we believe He will work in us to shape us and mold us and guide us…
    Transformation is an ongoing process..
    Romans 12:2 NASB95
2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
It may take some time, but you didn’t get the way you are overnight.
He can save you in a moment… But it may take longer to heal your habits…
But if you let Him work in you, He will continue to transform you…
    THINK BIGGER…
Don’t settle for just enough.. Don’t settle for half way…
Don’t settle for the lies of the enemy that tell you this is all you will ever be…
    THINK BIGGER!
This life is bigger than earning money and just getting by…
This life is bigger than the American dream…
This life is more than just preparation for death…
    THINK BIGGER!
God isn’t calling you just for you… He’s calling you to influence on those around you…
God has a purpose for your life that is bigger than just you…
I think we may have lost the hope of bigger in the church of today…
    Statistics Show:
The number of people who claim to be Christian has fallen 15% in the last 14 years. (Over 1% drop per year)
The number of religiously unaffiliated have doubled since 2007.
1 in 6 young adults identify as LGBTQIA+
For the first time in recorded US history, there are more in this country that do not belong to any church than those who do.
Church membership fell from 70% in 2000 to 47% in 2020.
4,500 churches closed their doors in the US in 2019.
Only 3 in 10 unchurched Americans say a Christian has ever shared with them 1-on-1 how to become a Christian.
Where is the hope and purpose that drove the church of the first century?
Where’s the innovation that would think to use a shadow to heal?
    Where’s the spirit led innovation?
It’s time the church rise up and be who she was meant to be in this hour!
Tell story about lady healed of stomach issue when we walked by…
    THINK BIGGER!
God is still on the throne!
    He has not changed!
If He did it then, He can do it now!
God is calling you to something greater than yourself…
    Think Bigger!
‌Think bigger than your fear… Think bigger than your insecurity…
Think bigger than what seems possible…
    Think bigger!
If you can accomplish it without God, you’re not thinking big enough…
If it doesn’t stretch your faith, it’s not big enough..
