    Revelation 19:1-10
As we come to these final chapters finally we celebrate victory
Finally we get to the good part of Revelation
Up to this point we have waded through death and destruction brought on by man’s sinfulness and God’s judgement of that sin.
But now for those who have chosen to give their lives to God allowing the Lord to live his life through them, Victory Has Been Declared!
Today we will be looking at the celebration that comes with the end of the horrible tribulation.x
    Revelation 19:1–10 NASB 95
1 After these things I heard something like a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, “Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God; 2 because His judgments are true and righteous; for He has judged the great harlot who was corrupting the earth with her immorality, and He has avenged the blood of His bond-servants on her.” 3 And a second time they said, “Hallelujah! Her smoke rises up forever and ever.” 4 And the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God who sits on the throne saying, “Amen. Hallelujah!” 5 And a voice came from the throne, saying, “Give praise to our God, all you His bond-servants, you who fear Him, the small and the great.” 6 Then I heard something like the voice of a great multitude and like the sound of many waters and like the sound of mighty peals of thunder, saying, “Hallelujah! For the Lord our God, the Almighty, reigns. 7 “Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His bride has made herself ready.” 8 It was given to her to clothe herself in fine linen, bright and clean; for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. 9 Then he said to me, “Write, ‘Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.’ ” And he said to me, “These are true words of God.” 10 Then I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “Do not do that; I am a fellow servant of yours and your brethren who hold the testimony of Jesus; worship God. For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”

    Victory Hallelujahs! Vv. 1-6

Hallelujah of the great multitude in heaven vv. 1-3
    Revelation 19:1–3 NASB 95
1 After these things I heard something like a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, “Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God; 2 because His judgments are true and righteous; for He has judged the great harlot who was corrupting the earth with her immorality, and He has avenged the blood of His bond-servants on her.” 3 And a second time they said, “Hallelujah! Her smoke rises up forever and ever.”
God is praised, “salvation, glory and power belong to our God.”
God avenges all the evil done to the servants of God.
His judgements are right and true.
He has avenged the blood of the servants.
The evil ones will be tormented forever.
Hallelujah of the 24 elders and the 4 living creatures v. 4.
    Revelation 19:4 NASB 95
4 And the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God who sits on the throne saying, “Amen. Hallelujah!”
Those who’ve been before the throne forever-this is God’s moment.
They have waited for 1000s of years to see God once again in his rightful place of glory and majesty.
The earth, the sun, the stars, all of the universe that was his by creation once again are his wholly.
Even the heavens cry out for the righteousness of God.
Hallelujah of the bond servants of God vv. 5-6.
    Revelation 19:5–6 NASB 95
5 And a voice came from the throne, saying, “Give praise to our God, all you His bond-servants, you who fear Him, the small and the great.” 6 Then I heard something like the voice of a great multitude and like the sound of many waters and like the sound of mighty peals of thunder, saying, “Hallelujah! For the Lord our God, the Almighty, reigns.
This hallelujah is from a very special group.
This group-comprised of all kinds of people both small and great.
It is a group who chose of their own free will to enslave themselves to the Lord Jesus Christ.
This group is not small v.6.
Throughout the centuries men have given their souls to the Lord by faith.
Lives have been changed and fruit borne because men and women like us have given self up.
We’ve realized that “apart from God you can do nothing.”
Listen to what this group says, “Hallelujah! For the Lord our God, the Almighty, reigns.”
We recognize the rightful place of God.
He is Almighty and he ought to reign.
But listen folks, if God does not reign in your life now you will not be among that great multitude praising God.
If you cannot think of time when God has spoken to you other than at your salvation I have to wonder if is was God speaking at your salvation!
How many of us in this room has told someone what God did for them in his Son Jesus the Christ?
Jesus laid out the plan for his servants plain and simple, Go making disciples, BE my witnesses!
Does God reign in your life?
If he does not only will you sing the hallelujah chorus but you will be married to the Lord!

    Victory Marriage vv. 7-10

Marriage of the Lamb vv. 7-8
    Revelation 19:7–8 NASB 95
7 “Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His bride has made herself ready.” 8 It was given to her to clothe herself in fine linen, bright and clean; for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.
    Who is the Lamb?
    John 1:29 NASB 95
29 The next day he [John, the Baptist] saw Jesus coming to him and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!
Jesus is the Lamb and is the Bridegroom.
    Who then is the bride?
It has to be the church.
Many times marriage was used to illustrate the relationship we are to have with Christ.
Some say that Israel is the wife of Christ but Israel gave up that right when she prostituted herself before other Gods.
Notice how the bride prepared for this wedding!
    She made her own clothes
These clothes were fine linen, bright and clean.
Linen proved to be acts of righteousness.
    Are you acting rightly?
Would your neighbor or co-worker be surprised to find you call yourself a Christian?
Jesus told us to be prepared for he will come as a thief in the night.
    Are you ready?
Our righteous acts do not save us they are the result of God working in and through our lives.
In ancient times marriage was comprised of 3 stages.
The initial contract often made between parents.
This contract often included payment of a dowry.
That is what Jesus did for the church when he paid the price for sin.
    Jesus paid our dowry
He bought our salvation with his own death on the cross.
Secondly came the marriage ceremony itself.
As the children grew older and more responsible, they made the commitment of marriage public.
That is what happens at the end of the tribulation period, the Marriage of the church to the Lord is made public.
There is the celebration of the marriage.
In modern days that is usually a reception or dinner held after the wedding in honor of the bride and groom.
Those of us who truly are part of the church, the bride of Christ will be at this marriage supper.
    Marriage Supper vv. 9-10
    Revelation 19:9–10 NASB 95
9 Then he said to me, “Write, ‘Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.’ ” And he said to me, “These are true words of God.” 10 Then I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “Do not do that; I am a fellow servant of yours and your brethren who hold the testimony of Jesus; worship God. For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”
This supper is to be a blessed event.
These are the words of an Angel.
John wrote it and we are to believe it.
A celebration of finally being united with that precious bridegroom.
Do you remember the days before the long awaited wedding?
    Planning, preparation, separation,
After what seems like an eternity the day finally arrives.
The wedding, the celebration and finally the separation ends.
Listen, that is what it will be like when you and I who have truly given our lives to the Lord, go to that marriage supper of the Lamb.
    We will be blessed
For we will finally be united with the one we have grown to love and long to see.
For me, it’s now been 53 years that I have longed to behold my Lord.
    For you maybe even longer
But for too many they will find themselves saying,
    Matthew 7:22 NASB 95
22 Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’
    Matthew 7:23 NASB 95
23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.’
    Matthew 7:21 NASB 95
21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter.

    Conclusion:

Today is that day of decision.
Will you be at that marriage?
You have prepared by doing your acts of righteousness, lived the life God intends you to live?
You long for that union between yourself and the Lord?
If not what I have spoken of today will not be a victory but will be the beginning of an eternity of anguish and pain.
Will you today, say, Have Thine Own Way Lord?

294 Have Thine Own Way, Lord

    1.   Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way! Thou art the potter, I am the clay. Mold me and make me after Thy will, While I am waiting, yielded and still.
    2.   Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way! Search me and try me, Master, today! Whiter than snow, Lord, wash me just now, As in Thy presence humbly I bow.
    3.   Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way! Wounded and weary, help me I pray! Power, all power, surely is Thine! Touch me and heal me, Savior divine!
    4.   Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way! Hold o'er my being absolute sway! Fill with Thy Spirit till all shall see Christ only, always, living in me!
