    TEXT: Luke 19:28–44 (NKJV)
    I. INTRODUCTION
The crowd that lined the road into Jerusalem that day wasn't wrong that Jesus was a King. They were wrong about what kind of King he was — and what kind of kingdom he came to build.
Two kingdoms exist in this world. After Adam sinned, he forfeited the dominion God had given him. Satan claimed it. When the devil offered Jesus all the kingdoms of the world in the wilderness, Jesus never disputed the claim — because the claim was real. Luke 4:6"All this authority has been given to me." No rebuttal. The authority was genuine.
So when Jesus rides into Jerusalem, he isn't riding in to rearrange political power. He is riding in to reclaim a world held captive by a rival king.
    II. Read the Text
    Luke 19:28–44 NKJV
When He had said this, He went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem. And it came to pass, when He drew near to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mountain called Olivet, that He sent two of His disciples, saying, “Go into the village opposite you, where as you enter you will find a colt tied, on which no one has ever sat. Loose it and bring it here. And if anyone asks you, ‘Why are you loosing it?’ thus you shall say to him, ‘Because the Lord has need of it.’ ” So those who were sent went their way and found it just as He had said to them. But as they were loosing the colt, the owners of it said to them, “Why are you loosing the colt?” And they said, “The Lord has need of him.” Then they brought him to Jesus. And they threw their own clothes on the colt, and they set Jesus on him. And as He went, many spread their clothes on the road. Then, as He was now drawing near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works they had seen, saying: “ ‘Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord!’ Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!” And some of the Pharisees called to Him from the crowd, “Teacher, rebuke Your disciples.” But He answered and said to them, “I tell you that if these should keep silent, the stones would immediately cry out.” Now as He drew near, He saw the city and wept over it, saying, “If you had known, even you, especially in this your day, the things that make for your peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes. For days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment around you, surround you and close you in on every side, and level you, and your children within you, to the ground; and they will not leave in you one stone upon another, because you did not know the time of your visitation.”
    II. THE KINGDOM THEY EXPECTED
    Matthew 21:1–5 NKJV
Now when they drew near Jerusalem, and came to Bethphage, at the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples, saying to them, “Go into the village opposite you, and immediately you will find a donkey tied, and a colt with her. Loose them and bring them to Me. And if anyone says anything to you, you shall say, ‘The Lord has need of them,’ and immediately he will send them.” All this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying: “Tell the daughter of Zion, ‘Behold, your King is coming to you, Lowly, and sitting on a donkey, A colt, the foal of a donkey.’ ”
    Zechariah 9:9 NKJV
“Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your King is coming to you; He is just and having salvation, Lowly and riding on a donkey, A colt, the foal of a donkey.
God prophesied this moment centuries before it happened — and he told them exactly what to look for. Not a war horse. A donkey.
    A. The Donkey Is the Sermon
Kings rode donkeys in times of peace — when the fighting was over, when a king came to govern and to stay
    War horse = conquest.
Donkey = a different kind of kingdom entirely.
Jesus didn't miss the war horse by accident. He chose the donkey deliberately.
The crowd wanted one kind of king. God sent another.
    B. Why Not Rome?
    Rome was not the enemy
Satan holds real, delegated authority over the kingdoms of this world — Adam lost dominion, Satan claimed it
    Luke 4:6 NKJV
And the devil said to Him, “All this authority I will give You, and their glory; for this has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I wish.
    C. John 12:31 — Spoken Right After the Triumphal Entry
    John 12:31 NKJV
Now is the judgment of this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out.
    Not Caesar (Rome)
    The ruler of this world.
The King on the donkey is riding toward a cosmic confrontation.
    IV. THE KING WEEPS
    Luke 19:41–44 NKJV
Now as He drew near, He saw the city and wept over it, saying, “If you had known, even you, especially in this your day, the things that make for your peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes. For days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment around you, surround you and close you in on every side, and level you, and your children within you, to the ground; and they will not leave in you one stone upon another, because you did not know the time of your visitation.”
    A. "If You Had Known the Things That Belong to Your Peace"
They were looking for the wrong peace
    They wanted peace from Rome
Jesus saw the peace they were missing — and wept because they couldn't see it
    B. Spiritual Blindness Has a Cost
"These things are hidden from your eyes"
The coming destruction of Jerusalem — the consequence of missing the visitation
They were so focused on the kingdom they wanted that they missed the King who came
    V. LIVING BETWEEN TWO KINGDOMS(Application)
We still live in occupied territory
    Two kingdoms are real.
The question Palm Sunday asks is: which one are you living in?
    A. We Repeat the Crowd's Mistake
Three ways we wave palms at the wrong kind of king:
We want Jesus to fix our earthly circumstances while remaining blind to the spiritual war around us
    We fight the wrong enemies
We miss our own moment of visitation because we are looking for the wrong kind of rescue
    B. The King Has Already Won the Decisive Battle
    Read Colossians 2:15
    Colossians 2:15 NKJV
Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.
The cross was not defeat — it was the legal transaction that stripped Satan of his claim
The King the crowd wanted would have fought Rome
The King who actually came fought the one who owned Rome — and won
    C. He Still Rides the Same Way
Not with the weapons we would choose
    Not the way we expect
But the kingdom he is building is the one that lasts
    VI. CONCLUSION:
Which kingdom are you living in this week?
    Prayer
    Be Blessed
