  • The rescue mission

The ultimate rescue mission in the universe is Jesus saving us from our sins.
At Galaxy VBS, we orbit around the truth that "God loves us, so… love each other". However, before we can truly share that out-of-this-world love, we must first receive His ultimate rescue plan.
    John 3:16 ESV
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
The Cosmic Problem and The Rescue
The Black Hole of Sin: Just like a black hole pulls everything into total darkness, our bad choices and mistakes—what the Bible calls sin—separate us from God.
The Endless Gap: No rocket ship, space shuttle, or human technology can ever bridge the massive distance between our sin and God’s perfect holiness.
The Galactic Rescue: Because God created the stars and loves us deeply, He didn't leave us stranded in the dark. He sent Jesus down on a cosmic rescue mission.
The Cross Station: On Day 2 of Galaxy VBS, we remember that Jesus died on the cross and rose again to crush the power of darkness forever.
Launching Your Faith: The ABC Rescue Steps
To accept Jesus' invitation and board His rescue ship, we simply follow these coordinates:
A - Admit: Confess that you have sinned and need a Savior to pull you out of the dark.
B - Believe: Trust completely that Jesus died for your sins and rose from the grave.
C - Choose: Commit to following Jesus as the Commander of your life from this day forward.
Once you are rescued by His grace, your engine is fueled to live out the key verse:
    1 John 4:7 ESV
Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.
    Closing Prayer:
"Lord God, Creator of the universe, thank You for looking down at my small life and loving me anyway. I admit that I have sinned and cannot save myself. I believe Jesus died on the cross to pay for my sins and rose again. Please rescue me from the darkness, fill me with Your light, and guide my life's mission from this day forward. Amen."
