  • At its core, Acts is about four big things:
    The power of the Holy Spirit working in ordinary people (Acts 1:8;
    2:4)
    The spread of the gospel from Jerusalem to the ends of the earth
    (Acts 2:14–41)
    The unstoppable mission of God, even through hardship and
    opposition (Acts 2:42–47)
    Acts is the template for the church.
    It gives us our mission

    Acts 1:1–5 (ESV) In the first book, O Theophilus, I have dealt with all
    that Jesus began to do and teach, until the day when he was taken up, after
    he had given commands through the Holy Spirit to the apostles whom he
    had chosen. He presented himself alive to them after his suffering by many
    proofs, appearing to them during forty days and speaking about the kingdom
    of God.
