          Group Discussion Questions for 10/26/2025

          GROUP DISCUSSION QUESTIONS FOR 10/26/2025

          Mark 9:33-37; John 13:12b-17; 1 Peter 4:7-11; Romans 12:3-6

          1. What most motivates you when you serve others—gratitude, obligation, recognition, or love?

Follow-Up: How does your motivation affect your joy in serving?

Action Step: This week, do one act of service purely out of love for Jesus. Before and after, pray: “Lord, let this be for You alone.”

          2. Self-centeredness can show up as avoidance (“I can’t do that”) or arrogance (“I’m above that”). Which one do you wrestle with more?

Follow-Up: How can we help each other push past those barriers and say yes to what God calls us to do?

Action Step: Identify one area where you’ve hesitated to serve. Take a concrete step this week: reach out, sign up, or start a conversation about how you can help.

          3. What helps you keep your heart connected to Jesus while serving others? How do you restore joy when ministry feels routine?

Follow-Up: How can our group or church family support one another to serve with joy instead of burnout?

Action Step: Before your next act of service, pray Psalm 51:12 “Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.”

          4. Romans 12 says we are many parts of one body, each with a special function. What happens when some parts don’t engage?

Follow-Up: How can we better honor and encourage those who serve quietly behind the scenes?

Action Step: This week, thank someone who faithfully serves: send a note, a text, or thank them face to face.

          5. Why is renewing your mind in God’s Word essential to serving others well?

Follow-Up: What truth from Romans 12 speaks to you most about humility, unity, or service?

Action Step: Read Romans 12 each day this week. Highlight one verse that stands out and pray it over your service that day.

          6. Group Challenge for the Week.Choose One:

          1. Invite someone new to serve alongside you.

          2. Step into a new area of service.

          3. Encourage and pray for someone already serving.

At your next meeting, share what happened and how God worked through your obedience.
