        Sermon Discussion Questions 11/16/2025

        SERMON DISCUSSION QUESTIONS 11/16/2025 MATTHEW 6:21; 1 CORINTHIANS 16:2

        1. How does understanding that “God owns everything” change the way you view your income, possessions, or even your time?

Follow-up: What’s one area of your life where you’ve been acting more like an “owner” than a “steward?”

Action Step: This week, pray daily: “Lord, everything I have belongs to You. Show me how to manage it faithfully.” Write down one specific step you’ll take to honor God as the true Owner.

        2. Jesus said, “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” What do your spending habits reveal about what you value most?

Follow-up: Has there been a time when your giving revealed a shift in your priorities or deepened your trust in God?

Action Step: Review your last few weeks of spending. Identify one category where you could redirect a portion toward Kingdom purposes.

        3. The sermon defined the tithe as giving one-tenth of what we have back to God. Why do you think God established this specific standard?

Follow-up: How might tithing shape our hearts toward greater gratitude and contentment?

Action Step: If you’re not currently tithing, commit to start giving systematically—perhaps beginning with a smaller percentage and growing it over time, trusting God each step of the way.

        4. How does giving under grace differ from giving under the Law?

Follow-up: What motivates your generosity: obligation, gratitude, faith, or something else?

Action Step: Write a short note or prayer of thanksgiving to God for His generosity to you. Ask Him to cultivate a more grace-filled attitude in your giving.

        5. Which of the seven Proverbs Principles stood out to you most, and why? (Earn, Worship, Plan, Provide, Help, Save, Live)

Follow-up: What area of your financial life could most benefit from wisdom and intentionality?

Action Step: Choose one principle and put it into practice this week (create a budget, start saving, give consistently, or bless someone in need).

        6. Paul said he learned to be content “whether in plenty or in want.” What helps you stay content when financial pressure or uncertainty hits?

Follow-up: How has generosity or trust in God’s provision strengthened your faith in past seasons?

Action Step: Memorize Philippians 4:11–13 this week and pray it whenever you feel anxious or discontent about money.
