Isaiah 30:21 KJV And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, When ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.If i can give you an easier way to read this verse it would be “It doesnt matter which way you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.”INTRODUCTIONGod never intended for His people to wander aimlessly—He intended to lead them precisely.Yet this verse reveals something powerful: There are moments when we turn to the right… or to the left… and it’s the wrong turn. The tragedy is not that direction was unavailable— The tragedy is that direction was ignored or missed💡 A young man set out on a long road trip late one evening. He had somewhere important to be—people were waiting on him. His GPS was set. His route was clear. Somewhere along the way, he missed a turn.It wasn’t a big turn. It wasn’t obvious. But miles later, he noticed something wasn’t right. The landmarks didn’t match. The road narrowed. The lights disappeared. What should have been a straight path turned into a confusing, dark detour. Then he realized, the volume was turned down, the GPS finally spoke up: “Recalculating…”Here’s what shook him— The destination hadn’t changed… But the arrival time had.I. THE REJECTION — IGNORING GOD’S VOICE“…thine ears shall hear a word behind thee…”God speaks—but we don’t always listen.A. Gods Voice Is PersonalIsaiah 30:21 KJV “a word behind thee”God deals individually.John 10:3 KJV “the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.”B. Gods Voice Is PreciseIsaiah 30:21 KJV “This is the way”God doesn’t deal in confusion.John 14:26 KJV But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.John 16:13 KJV “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth:”C. Gods Voice Is PersistentHe speaks again and again… yet we resist.💡 Think about Samson. God’s call was clear, but Samson kept turning toward temptation. Each wrong turn dulled his sensitivity until he didn’t even know the Spirit had departed.💡 You don’t miss the turn because God was silent—you miss it because you rejected what He said.II. THE REDIRECTION — GOD CALLING YOU BACKIsaiah 30:21 KJV “This is the way, walk ye in it”Even when we turn wrong, God still speaks.A. There Will Be A Call to ReturnIsaiah 30:21 KJV “This is the way”—God points back to truth.B. There Will Be A Call to RespondIsaiah 30:21 KJV “walk ye in it”new direction….. requires action.C. There Will Be A Call to RealignmentGod doesn’t adjust to your path … You must adjust to His.💡 It’s like a shepherd with sheep. When one wanders, he doesn’t change the destination—he calls the sheep back to the path.📌 Redirection is God’s mercy interrupting your mistake.III. THE RESCHEDULING — THE DELAY OF A WRONG TURNIsaiah 30:21 KJV “When ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.”The verse implies something: We do turn wrong sometimes, And when we do, life gets rescheduled.A. Wrong Turns Have Postponed ProgressGPS says recalculating…. and then it gives you a new ETA ( Estimated Time of Arrival)You can get get to your destination but the ETA will always be changedB.Wrong Turns Have Prolonged Journey The road becomes longer than it had to be.C. Wrong Turns Have Preventable Struggles Some hardships are not attacks—they are after-effects of wrong turns.💡 Think about Abraham going down into Egypt during famine. It seemed logical, but that detour created complications that followed him for years. One wrong turn can echo longer than expected.📌 Wrong Turns Do Not Cancel Gods Will—but it is often postponed when we miss the turn.IV. THE RESTORATION — GOD SETTING YOU RIGHT AGAINThe beauty of this text is not that people never turn wrong— It’s that God keeps speaking when they do.A. He Restores Direction He tells you again, “This is the way…”B. He Revives Sensitivity Your ears begin to hear Him clearly again.C. He Reestablishes Purpose You get back on track with His plan.💡 Think about the prodigal son. He took a wrong turn into a far country—but when he “came to himself,” he returned, and the father restored him completely.📌 No matter how far you’ve turned, God’s voice can still turn you around.CONCLUSION — THE CROSS: OUR WAY BACKEvery one of us has turned the wrong way.Isaiah 53:6 (KJV)“All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way…”But here’s the hope—“…and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.”Jesus stepped onto the road we should have walked. He bore the consequence of every wrong turn. He made a way for us to come back.📌 The cross is God’s ultimate redirection point.INVITATIONRight now, you may be:On the wrong roadIgnoring God’s voiceLiving in delay and detourBut listen—God is still speaking:“This is the way… walk in it.”Don’t ignore it again. Don’t delay any longer.Turn back. Step onto the right path. And let God restore what was lost.Isaiah 30:21NASB2020
