*Psalm 8
Leader: O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens.
All: Out of the mouth of babies and infants, you have established strength because of your foes, to still the enemy and the avenger.
Leader: When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place,
All: What is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him?
Leader: Yet you have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor.
All: You have given him dominion over the works of your hands; you have put all things under his feet,
Leader: All sheep and oxen, and also the beasts of the field,
All: The birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea, whatever passes along the paths of the seas.
Leader: O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
*Hymn of Preparation – # 165
“Ye Servants of God, Your Master Proclaim”
Ye servants of God, your Master proclaim,
and publish abroad his wonderful name;
the name, all victorious, of Jesus extol;
his kingdom is glorious and rules over all.
God ruleth on high, almighty to save;
and still he is nigh– his presence we have.
The great congregation his triumph shall sing,
ascribing salvation to Jesus, our King.
Salvation to God, who sits on the throne!
Let all cry aloud and honor the Son.
The praises of Jesus the angels proclaim,
fall down on their faces and worship the Lamb.
Then let us adore, and give him his right,
all glory and pow'r, and wisdom and might,
all honor and blessing, with angels above,
and thanks never ceasing for infinite love.

Invocation
Congregational Confession of Sin
Leader: Eternal and almighty Father, we acknowledge and confess before you our sinful nature. We confess that we transgress your holy commandments daily in thought, word, and deed.
All: We confess that we have wandered from your ways and followed our own paths. We have wasted your gifts, squandering them in self-service. We have set up idols in our hearts instead of worshipping you.
Leader: O Lord, with heartfelt sorrow and shame we repent and hate our sins. We pray that you would forgive us our sins, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness by the blood of Jesus Christ.
All: Grant that from now on we may serve and please you in newness of life, through the merit and mediation of Jesus Christ our Lord, in whose Name we pray. Amen.
Private Confession of Sin
Assurance of Forgiveness
“For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.
Titus 2:11-14

Adoration and Praise
*Congregational Response – Hymn # 164
“O for a thousand Tongues to Sing”
O for a thousand tongues to sing
my great Redeemer's praise,
the glories of my God and King,
the triumphs of his grace.
My gracious Master and my God,
assist me to proclaim,
to spread through all the earth abroad
the honors of thy name.
Jesus, the name that charms our fears,
that bids our sorrows cease;
'tis music in the sinner's ears,
'tis life and health and peace.
He breaks the pow'r of reigning sin,
he sets the pris'ner free;
his blood can make the foulest clean,
his blood availed for me.
He speaks and, list'ning to his voice,
new life the dead receive;
the mournful, broken hearts rejoice;
the humble poor believe.
Hear him, ye deaf; his praise, ye dumb,
your loosen'd tongues employ;
ye blind, behold your Savior come;
and leap, ye lame, for joy.
* Confession of Faith The Westminster Shorter Catechism
Question 37: What benefits do believers receive from Christ at death?
The souls of believers are at their death made perfect in holiness, and do immediately pass into glory; and their bodies, being still united to Christ, do rest in their graves, till the resurrection.
Question 38: What benefits do believers receive from Christ at the resurrection?
At the resurrection, believers, being raised up in glory, shall be openly acknowledged and acquitted in the day of judgment, and made perfectly blessed in the full enjoying of God to all eternity.

*Congregational Response – Hymn # 32
“Great is Thy Faithfulness”
Great is thy faithfulness, O God my Father;
there is no shadow of turning with thee;
thou changest not, thy compassions, they fail not;
as thou hast been thou forever wilt be.
Refrain:
Great is thy faithfulness!
Great is thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see:
all I have needed thy hand hath provided -
Great is thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!
Summer and winter and springtime and harvest,
sun, moon, and stars in their courses above,
join with all nature in manifold witness
to thy great faithfulness, mercy, and love. [Refrain]
Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth,
thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide,
strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside! [Refrain]
*Benediction
