Kids Time: talk about pets. Would you like a turantula? Would you like a tiger in your home? Would you keep a bear as a pet?

    Exotic animal tragedy in Ohio

The recent tragedy in Zanesville, Ohio -- where 56 wild animals were let loose from the farm of a man previously convicted of animal cruelty — underscores the need to crack down on the private ownership of exotic animals.
Terry Thompson turned the animals loose before killing himself, instigating a 24-hour hunt ending in the deaths of nearly 50 animals. Six others — three leopards, a grizzly bear and two monkeys — were captured and taken to the Columbus Zoo.
How did more than 50 exotic animals, including endangered Bengal tigers, lions, wolves, baboons, and bears, wind up in rural Ohio? It was completely legal for Thompson to own these animals and keep them on his farm, despite a history of run-ins with the law and conflicts with his neighbors. Over the years, he had been charged with animal cruelty, animal neglect, and allowing animals to roam.
Each state has different laws regarding the private ownership of wildlife. For example, it is illegal to own any wild animals in New York, while in Maine, ownership requires a permit. Ohio is one of fewer than ten states with no laws restricting or regulating the sale and ownership of exotic animals, and it has earned a reputation as the "Wild West" of the exotic animal pet trade.
Estimates vary as to the number of privately owned tigers in the U.S., but it may be twice as many are left in the wild. In Zanesville, 18 endangered Bengal tigers were among the animals killed. While estimates vary on how many Bengal tigers are left in the world, many say it is less than 3,000.

    1. Brash

    2 Peter 2:10 LSB
10 and especially those who go after the flesh in its corrupt lust and despise authority. Daring, self-willed, they do not tremble when they blaspheme glorious ones,
Go After — continuous action or manner of living.
Flesh as apposed to spiritual matters. Lusts of the flesh such as riches, food, sexual pleasure. They are desire dominated.
despise authority — They hate even the idea of authority. There is no oversight or accountability to their lives or ministry. It is there way only and if anyone, especially an elder of the church tells them no, they explode.
Glorious ones = Demons in this context. They command demons and berate them.
    2 Peter 2:11 LSB
11 whereas angels who are greater in strength and power do not bring a reviling judgment against them before the Lord.
    Jude 8–9 LSB
8 Yet in the same way these men, also by dreaming, defile the flesh, and reject authority, and blaspheme glorious ones. 9 But Michael the archangel, when he, disputing with the devil, was arguing about the body of Moses, did not dare pronounce against him a blasphemous judgment, but said, “The Lord rebuke you!”
    2 Peter 2:12 LSB
12 But these, like unreasoning animals, born as creatures of instinct to be captured and killed, blaspheming where they have no knowledge, will in the destruction of those creatures also be destroyed,
A wild animal does not repent, it does not relent. They have no reason, only instinct.
    Christian Bear joke
Destruction is final destruction in hell. God does the destroying. We are to follow instruction on discipline, it is God who does the punishing.

    2. Indifferent

    2 Peter 2:13 LSB
13 suffering unrighteousness as the wages of their unrighteousness, considering it a pleasure to revel in the daytime—they are stains and blemishes, reveling in their deceptions, as they feast with you,
Suffering unrighteousness (damage) for their unrighteousness (damage they caused).
    Galatians 6:7 LSB
7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap.
US televangelist Jim Bakker, disgraced from sex scandal and fraud, dies at 86

US televangelist Jim Bakker, who built a multimillion-dollar media empire before being jailed for fraud and conspiracy, has died aged 86.
Bakker and his then-wife Tammy Faye founded a Christian television programme called The PTL Club in 1974, which at its peak attracted 13 million viewers per day.
The 86-year-old's death was announced on Monday by his second wife Lori Bakker, who described him as "a pioneer of Christian television".
By the late '80s, Bakker and Tammy Faye's empire began to fall apart after he became embroiled in a sex scandal and later convicted of mail and wire fraud. Tammy Faye, who divorced him in 1992, was never charged.
Bakker remarried in 1998, and alongside second wife Lori launched a new TV ministry in 2003.
Lori Bakker described her late husband as "my best friend, and the man I was honoured to walk beside through so many seasons of life and ministry".
She did not specify the cause of death.
However, Bakker's first programme The PTL Club - short for 'Praise the Lord' or 'People That Love' - was what cemented his fame with his first wife Tammy Faye.
The couple built their empire with 2,000 employees and a 2,300-acre (930-hectare) Heritage USA theme park complex in Fort Mill, South Carolina.
The Bakkers had a famously opulent lifestyle, owning a private jet, multiple homes, luxury cars, jewellery and even an air-conditioned dog house.
In 1987, Bakker resigned from the PTL ministry after revelations of a 1980 sexual encounter with church secretary Jessica Hahn.
It later emerged Hahn received a $265,000 payoff with ministry funds, resulting in Bakker being defrocked of his ministerial credentials and right to perform religious duties.

Hahn also accused Bakker of sexual assault, though the evangelist denied this, claiming the encounter had been consensual.
Bakker was then convicted in 1989 of 24 counts of mail and wire fraud and conspiracy in a scheme involving their Christian theme park, and served more than four years in prison.
Tammy Faye stayed with her husband throughout the trial but divorced him while he was in prison. She died of cancer in 2007.
Following Bakker's release from prison in 1994, he wrote a book titled I Was Wrong, and married his second wife Lori in 1998.
The couple began a TV ministry together in 2003 and in 2008 they began taping The Jim Bakker Show.
Unfortunately he is not the only one. There seem to be more and more as the days go by. Pastors and religious leaders who are overbearing, abusive to their staff, sexual scandal.
    Stains — Dirt spots
    Blemishes — scab
    2 Peter 2:14 LSB
14 having eyes full of adultery and unceasing sin, enticing unstable souls, having a heart trained in greed—they are accursed children.
eyes full of adultery — Every person is an object of lust and a potential adulterer.
accursed — damed to judgment and hell.

    3. Deluded

    2 Peter 2:15 LSB
15 Forsaking the right way, they have gone astray, having followed the way of Balaam, the son of Beor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness,

    2 Peter 2:16 LSB
16 but he received a rebuke for his own lawlessness, for a mute donkey, speaking out with a voice of a man, restrained the madness of the prophet.
