Prelude Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring Johann Sebastian Bach

Welcome and Announcements

Opening Prayer & Gathering #391 Take My Life, vs. 1

Take my life, and let it be Consecrated, Lord, to Thee.

Take my moments and my days; Let them flow in ceaseless praise,

Let them flow in ceaseless praise.

Call to Worship (Lamentations 3:21-23)

This I call to mind, and therefore I have hope:

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases,

His mercies never come to an end;

They are new every morning: Great is thy faithfulness.

Opening Hymn #487 When Morning Gilds the Skies

(Please remain standing through the Gloria Patri)

Call to Confession

In spite of God’s love for us and his gift of love to us, we often act in destructive and hateful ways. We close our hearts to God and disobey God’s law. Together let us confess our sin, trusting in his faithfulness to forgive.

Prayer of Confession

Eternal and merciful God, you have loved us with a love beyond our understanding, and you have set us on paths of righteousness for your name’s sake. Yet we have strayed from your way; we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, through what we have done and what we have left undone. As we remember the laish gift of your grace symbolized in baptism, O God, we praise you and give you thanks that you forgive us yet again. Grant us now, we pray, the grace to die daily to sin, and to rise daily to new life in Christ, who lives and reigns with you, and in whose strong name we pray. Amen.

Assurance of Forgiveness and Exchange of Peace (Romans 5:1-2)

God the Creator brings you new life, forgives and redeems you. Take hold of this forgiveness, and live your life in the Spirit of Jesus. Amen.

May the peace of Christ be with you; And also with you.

Please exchange the peace of Christ with your neighbors.

Gloria Patri

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost;

As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen, Amen.

Sermon for Faith Builders Children are invited to go to Children’s Worship with our Children’s Ministry Coordinator, Ms. Marisa. They will return during the final hymn.

Affirmation of Faith - The Apostles’ Creed (Traditional)

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth,

And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.
