Prelude I Need Thee Every Hour        Robert Lowry/Edwin T Childs

Welcome and Announcements

Opening Prayer & Gathering #391 Take My Life, vs. 1

Take my life, and let it be Consecrated, Lord, to Thee.

Take my moments and my days; Let them flow in ceaseless praise,

Let them flow in ceaseless praise.

Call to Worship (Psalm 89:1-2)

I will sing of your steadfast love, O Lord, forever:

with my mouth I will proclaim your faithfulness to all generations.

I declare that your steadfast love is established forever;

your faithfulness is as firm as the heavens.

Opening Hymn #2132 Come, Ye Disconsolate

(Please remain standing through the Gloria Patri)

Call to Confession

God in Christ has called us to be witnesses to the promised kingdom. However, we fail in our calling, because we fail to trust in God’s promise to be present among us. Aware of God’s promise to forgive, let us confess our sins:

Prayer of Confession

O God, our creator, sustainer and redeemer, we confess our feelings of exile and alienation, and we wonder where you are. We fear your absence when, in fact, you are most present to us, by your Spirit. Restore in us a sense of your comfort and care. Renew our strength so that we might realize our calling as disciples of Jesus. Amen.

Assurance of Forgiveness and Exchange of Peace (Psalm 32:1-2)

Happy are those whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Happy are those to whom the Lord imputes no iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit.

Believe the Good News. In Jesus Christ, you are forgiven.

Thanks be to God.

May the peace of Christ be with you; And also with you.

Please exchange the peace of Christ with your neighbors.

Gloria Patri

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost;

As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen, Amen.

Sermon for Faith Builders Children are invited to go to Children’s Worship with our Children’s Ministry Coordinator, Ms. Marisa. They will return during the final hymn.

Affirmation of Faith - The Apostles’ Creed (Traditional)

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth,

And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.
