Call to Worship 🙌 

Some of your people gather in sanctuaries

while others create sacred spaces

in their living rooms or back yards.

Yet, all join to worship you,

God who is with the scattered and gathered.

Some of your followers are going out to serve and work,

while others stay at home,

helping children and grandchildren learn virtually.

Yet, all seek to follow your example,

Jesus who calls the scattered and gathered.

Some care for others by shopping for them,

while planting seeds of peace and hope.

Yet, whether gathered or scattered,

all seek to live out your gifts, Spirit of us all.

Prayer of Confession 🙏 

Waiting God, you know us all too well. As we prepare to hear Your Word. We fail to hear Your call on our lives.

We make excuses

We push those away that would challenge us

We harden our own hearts to the possibilities that You might work in a new way in our lives, in our community and in our churches.

Change and challenge are always difficult. We are more inclined to turn our backs on opportunities of service than pitch in to affect the needed changes that will promote healing and wholeness. Forgive us when we give lip service to you and then slip into inaction. Give us courage to be willing disciples. Help us to be people of promise and hope. In Jesus' Name, we offer this prayer. Amen.
