PRELUDE                                                            Luke Arnold

WELCOME AND ANNOUNCEMENTS                            Rev. Seth Thomas

*CALL TO WORSHIP                                         Kat DeVaney, Lector

We gather to worship God,

who stretched the heavens like a tent

and set the earth on its foundations.

We gather to worship God,

who rides the winds like a chariot

and wears light as a garment.

We gather to worship God,

who suffered for the sake of our lives

and offers us life abundant.

*HYMN OF PRAISE          “I Sing the Mighty Power of God” – GTG #32

CALL TO CONFESSION

PRAYER OF CONFESSION

O Lord, you have taught us

that whoever wishes to become great must be a servant,

and whoever seeks to be first must be last

   and servant of all.

Still, O Lord, we are like James and John,

   seeking seats of glory.

We organize our lives around ladders to climb,

not realizing that we are stepping on people

   whom you love.

Forgive us, O Christ, and teach us to follow in your way,

for the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve,

and to give his life as a ransom for many.

ASSURANCE OF GOD’S GRACE

*THE PEACE

The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.

And also with you.

For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

GODLY PLAY: EXODUS In this story we see that God was with the People as they “went out” (the literal meaning of the word exodus) from slavery into freedom through water. The People of God look back to this time to sustain them when God is hidden and they feel lost. For the Jews, especially, the Feast of Passover keeps alive this core event. For Christians, Baptism reawakens this event.

The Godly Play room will open at 10:15am for songs and memory verse time, with the lesson starting at 10:35am. Students will be brought back to the service for the last hymn.
