We gather to worship God alone,

Soli Deo gloria!

We gather as people reformed and reforming,

proclaiming the cornerstones of our faith:

Scripture alone, Christ alone,

faith alone, grace alone,

glory always, to God alone.

CALL TO CONFESSION

PRAYER OF CONFESSION

O God, you have never stopped moving in the world

and calling your church to follow your lead.

Forgive us, O God, when we think of ourselves

as reformed only in the past tense.

Forgive us, O God, when we fail to follow

the winds of your spirit leading us to change.

Forgive us, O God, when we are stuck in our ways,

hesitant to listen to your message

coming to us through the voice of a neighbor, a stranger,

   or a new generation.

Forgive us, O God, and grant us assurance

that you have never stopped reforming your church.

For you are the one who makes all things new

and forms life even from ashes.

ASSURANCE OF GOD’S GRACE

Announcements

GODLY PLAY:  Work Day: A work day is a Sunday when the students don't hear a story. During our typical Sunday morning time there is often not enough time for some of our art responses or to explore all they want to in the classroom so we have work days where the children are able to more fully engage in the "Play" part of Godly Play.

The Godly Play room will open at 10:15am for songs and memory verse time, with the lesson starting at 10:35am. Students will be brought back to the service for the last hymn.

LECTIONARY TEXTS

For anyone wishing to study the lectionary texts, this week,

October 31st, the Lectionary texts are:

Psalm 119:1-8

Ruth 1:1-18
