Come, see the place where he lay.Matthew 28:7 ESV 7 Then go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead, and behold, he is going before you to Galilee; there you will see him. See, I have told you.”I. Jesus’ mission was good news for the world and not just a nation (8-10)Exposition 3Matthew 28:11 ESV 11 While they were going, behold, some of the guard went into the city and told the chief priests all that had taken place.Matthew 28:12 ESV 12 And when they had assembled with the elders and taken counsel, they gave a sufficient sum of money to the soldiersMatthew 28:13 ESV 13 and said, “Tell people, ‘His disciples came by night and stole him away while we were asleep.’Matthew 28:14 ESV 14 And if this comes to the governor’s ears, we will satisfy him and keep you out of trouble.”Matthew 28:15 ESV 15 So they took the money and did as they were directed. And this story has been spread among the Jews to this day.III. The facts of the ressurection will not convince unbelievers (11-15)Remember what the Jewish leaders said when Jesus was on the crossMatthew 27:42 ESV 42 “He saved others; he cannot save himself.
