    Psalm 119:89–96 ESV
89 Forever, O Lord, your word is firmly fixed in the heavens. 90 Your faithfulness endures to all generations; you have established the earth, and it stands fast. 91 By your appointment they stand this day, for all things are your servants. 92 If your law had not been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction. 93 I will never forget your precepts, for by them you have given me life. 94 I am yours; save me, for I have sought your precepts. 95 The wicked lie in wait to destroy me, but I consider your testimonies. 96 I have seen a limit to all perfection, but your commandment is exceedingly broad.
    Opening Prayer
    Introduction
On June 15th 2011, 48 year old Penny Palfrey set a new world record, swimming through shark infested waters and being stung by 3 jellyfish, to swim nearly 70 miles from Grand Cayman Island to Little Cayman Island. This was the longest solo and unassisted swim on record. According to reports, she was almost unrecognizable when she landed after 40 hours and 41 minutes in the water. She had to be hospitalized and there are reports that her safety crew had to kill sharks to keep her safe.
Now if you are like most people, this does not sound like a fun 2 two trip to the Caribbean. It sounds miserable to me. But perhaps you have swam in the ocean before. As a teenager I would sometimes swim out to the buoy and back. I think these vary in distance from shore but I know that sometimes it is harder than others...

    Three truths about God’s Word
In the stanzas immediately before this on, the author had shared personal experiences in which he had suffered and the Word ultimtely proved enough.
    Exposition 89-91
    Psalm 119:89–91 ESV
89 Forever, O Lord, your word is firmly fixed in the heavens. 90 Your faithfulness endures to all generations; you have established the earth, and it stands fast. 91 By your appointment they stand this day, for all things are your servants.
Vs. 89 the Word is “fixed” in the heavens
    projector
Vs. 90 God’s faithfulness is everlasting
    It endures to all generations
    He established the earth
    It stands fast (unmovable)
    Vs. 91
God has directed them to be permanant

    I. You can rely on God’s Word because it is eternal and God is faithful (89-91)

This means God’s Word shares His attributes, not that the Bible is our God or that we worship it but because God has spoken it it is absolute.
    My word is my bond
Jesus taught the permanence and trustworthiness of God’s Word
    Matthew 5:17–18 ESV
17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18 For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished.
For centuries before the printing press, many tried to eliminate the Bible but God preserves His Word
    Applications
    God’s Word is preserved
    God’s Word is accurate
    God’s Word is complete
    God’s Word is Knowable
    God’s Word in valuable
    Exposition 92-95
    Psalm 119:92–95 ESV

God’s eternal Word does 3 things here
    God’s Word rescues (92)
    God’s Word Renews (93)
    God’s Word Saves (94, 95)

II. You can be confident in God’s Word because it has saved you (92-95)

III. You can trust that God’s Word is sufficient because it is endless

    Conclusion
God’s Word’s is applicable to all of life. It is enough. It may not be exhaustive (it’s not) but it’s principles apply exhaustively
Whatever your problems or issues are, there are principles to be applied.
