6 For a child will be born for us, a son will be given to us, and the government will be on his shoulders. Intro:

On the elevator I saw little girl playing with a can opener as if it was a 10inch tablet! On christmas when my children were little would play with kitchen utensils before their toys. They would find joy in the ordinary and play with it as if it was extraordinary.
Isaiah 53:1–3 “Who has believed what we have heard? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed? He grew up before him like a young plant and like a root out of dry ground. He didn’t have an impressive form or majesty that we should look at him, no appearance that we should desire him. He was despised and rejected by men, a man of suffering who knew what sickness was. He was like someone people turned away from; he was despised, and we didn’t value him.”
Isaiah 9:1–5 (CSB) 1 Nevertheless, the gloom of the distressed land will not be like that of the former times when he humbled the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali. But in the future he will bring honor to the way of the sea, to the land east of the Jordan, and to Galilee of the nations. 2 The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; a light has dawned on those living in the land of darkness. 3 You have enlarged the nation and increased its joy. The people have rejoiced before you as they rejoice at harvest time and as they rejoice when dividing spoils. 4 For you have shattered their oppressive yoke and the rod on their shoulders, the staff of their oppressor, just as you did on the day of Midian. 5 For every trampling boot of battle and the bloodied garments of war will be burned as fuel for the fire.
Double reference prophecy or (double fulfillment) is a principle in biblical interpretation where a single prophecy refers to two distinct events, often separated by long periods, blending them into on prophetic picture for emphasis, with an initial, nearer fulfillment and a greater, future fulfillment

    I. His Ontology(His essence)

    Isaiah 9:6 CSB
6 For a child will be born for us, a son will be given to us, and the government will be on his shoulders. He will be named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.
(EXP)(6) Seems as if in this verse Isaiah is introducing us to the Messiah. Previously in Isaiah 7:14
    Isaiah 7:14 CSB
14 Therefore, the Lord himself will give you a sign: See, the virgin will conceive, have a son, and name him Immanuel.
    (14) He tells us one of his names. “Immanuel” God is with us. The transcendent God who’s ways are to high for us is descending to dwell among us. Only in Christianity do you find a God who is both transcendent(high above all things) yet at the same time Immanent(dwelling among) us. He is both not like us and like us at the same time. Back in Isaiah 9:6 we get some more details about this Messiah. It is imperative you put yourself into the ancient world. All they have is these written nuggets of information about him.
(EXP)(6) In Isaiah 7:14 we learn he was to be born of a virgin. “see the virgin will concieve” Yall just wanted to inform you that they had children the same way we do. Sex is a key essential part of that process. Isaiah tells us his birth will be miraculous. Notice what he says in (6) “For a child will be born for us, a son will be given to us” This statement gives us some key data about this Messiah:
For a child will be born for us-Although she is a virgin she will be become pregnant and have a natural birth like all the other mom’s in Israel. He will be a baby, toddler, child, young man, then matriculate into adulthood. His life would follow the natural trajectory of all other men. He will be of the same substance of all other men. He will be of flesh. He will experience everything all other men experience. Turn to Luke 2:52
    Luke 2:52 CSB
52 And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and with people.
This verse tells us about the Jesus. As far as anyone knew in Galilee Jesus was the little boy following his Dad around learning to be a carpenter. Jesus in this sense was rather “Ordinary” Son of man!
    2. A son will be given to us-By who? we already learned Mary was a virgin so it wasn’t as if she decided to give us this little boy. This boy was gift from someone else. John 3:16
    John 3:16 CSB
16 For God loved the world in this way: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
“He gave” Jesus birth was divine. Mary was a surrogate just a vessel for the Son of God. Luke 1:31-35
    Luke 1:31–35 CSB
31 Now listen: You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you will name him Jesus. 32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give him the throne of his father David. 33 He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and his kingdom will have no end.” 34 Mary asked the angel, “How can this be, since I have not had sexual relations with a man?” 35 The angel replied to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore, the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God.
    (35) “The HS will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you” This is a Triune Euphemism. All three person of the Trinity were apart of this event. Both the HS and El Elyon will overshadow and send the third person of the trinity. The two person were active and the third person was passive. They sent and he submitted. Notice what his name is “Son of God” To be the Son of something means you share the same essence and nature. This right here is extraordinary. You see in Jesus you have both the ordinary and the extraordinary at the same time. In theological terms we call this “The incarnation” or the “Hypostatic Union”
    Incarnation-To be made flesh
Hypostatic Union-They Hypostatic Union is a core doctrine explaining Jesus Christ as one divine person with two distinct, unmixed natures: fully God and fully man, united without confusion or seperation. It means Jesus is simultaneously 100% divine and 100% human, sharing attributes from both natures but remaining one indivisible person, a concept defined at the Council of Chalcedon.
    Listen to John 1:14
    John 1:14 CSB
14 The Word became flesh and dwelt among us. We observed his glory, the glory as the one and only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
    (14) “The Word became “en-sarkos” and tabernacled among us” Saints this a powerful statement by John. At this time the Jews worshipped the Temple Mount. Where the tabernacle existed. John says “The Word” The one who existed before eternity. Wrapped himself in “Sarkos” flesh and tabernacled among us. No longer us going to a place to worship God, but the place coming to us wrapped in something we could relate too.
Why this way? Why couldn’t Jesus save us without having to take on human flesh? Why all the drama? Why couldn’t God just snapped his fingers Destroy Satan and we live happily ever after with God.
the Character of God made it necessary. Satan understands the Chracter of God. That is why he immediately was on the scene in the Garden. God created this creature that isn’t God and is lower than the Angels in terms of his/her attributes, but loved by God. Satan knew that if he could get them to violate the Law of God it would bring misery and seperation to the relationship God had with mankind.
how do you think he knew this?
Because that is what happened to him an the Angels that followed. Satan understood something about God. God is holy and in him is no darkness at all. And only the holy can be in relationship with God.
There are some things God cannot do. One of those is violate his own chracter. He is a God of integrity. He cannot lower the holiness bar to accomodate the failings of man.
Satan moved to tempt Adam and Eve and it worked. Causing seperation between God and Mankind. Giving Satan a temporary win.
God then moves this is found in this verse:
    Genesis 3:15 CSB
15 I will put hostility between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring. He will strike your head, and you will strike his heel.
This is prophecy from God. That there will be hostility between You(Satan) and the woman(Eve). Why?? Because He(the seed) will strike your(Satan) head(fatal blow, and you(satan) will strike his(Jesus) heel(temporary blow) This is called “The First Announcement of Good News” this announcement is reminiscent of the Angels announcement to the shepherds in Luke 2:10
    Luke 2:10 CSB
10 But the angel said to them, “Don’t be afraid, for look, I proclaim to you good news of great joy that will be for all the people:
This is God promise that he would send someone through the womb of the woman that would deal Satan a fatal blow! Satan was not aware who. Nor when so he moved immediately. Notice the next story after God kicked them out of the Garden in Genesis 4.
Cain slew Abel! Satan surmised Abel was “the one” because God bestowed his favor on abel. But God sent Seth. Through who Noah came
in Genesis 6 Satan demons slept with the daughters of men! What was going on here? Satan was trying to demonize the bloodlines of man. That is why God destroyed mankind but one man Noah found favor with God and had not succumb to the culture.
God begins to bestow his grace on Abraham Satan moves again after Abraham and his progeny become a nation. He turns the heart of the Pharaoh against them and Pharaoh kills all the firstborn of Egypt, but there was a little boy that got away his name was Moses! God incited Pharaoh to go after Moses then God swallowed up pharaoh into the Red sea preserving the nation of Israel.
During the time of the judges the Midianites were starving the Israelites out with mass famine. But God raised up Gideon.
During the time of the Persian Captivity Satan incited Haman to devise a plan to commit genocide on the Nation of Israel but God raised up Esther!
God is preserving the Nation despite Satan’s desperate efforts to exterminate the Jews.
One place Satan was successful was tempting God’s chosen to fall into the sin.
Noah preach righteousness to a perishing people but got right off the boat and got drunk. He fell
Abraham was a great man but lied on several occasion to save his butt. He fell
Jacob decieved his father. He fell
Moses murder a man and struck the rock instead of speaking to the Rock. He fell
God gave Sampson the strength of a lion but he had the spiritual strength of a toddler. He fell.
The judges of Israel did great things but all fell into some type of disobedience
David israel’s king the man who’s heart the Lord loved. Married several women, committed adultery and murder. Another Fallen man.
King after King, Prophet after Prophet, Priest after Priest all fall making them unqualified to be the Messiah. For several 1000 years Satan has been successfully disqualifying possible Messiah’s.
What he didn’t account for was Galatians 4:4-7
    Galatians 4:4–7 CSB
4 When the time came to completion, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. 6 And because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba, Father!” 7 So you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then God has made you an heir.
    (4) At just the right time “God sent his Son, Born of Woman!” Satan didn’t see this. This is why Jesus took on human flesh. Because the Father prophesied that I would destroy the Devil with the lesser. Prior to this Satan was handling everything God sent at him.
    Hebrews 4:15 CSB
15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who has been tempted in every way as we are, yet without sin.
    (15) Satan tempted him just like all the previous men and women who fell, but he was without “Sin” making him the only one qualified to die for the Sin’s of mankind. He meet all the qualifications. He came through the womb of a woman and he lived a life without sin.
    Paul helps us!
    Conclusion
    Romans 3:23–26 CSB
23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God; 24 they are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. 25 God presented him as the mercy seat by his blood, through faith, to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his restraint God passed over the sins previously committed. 26 God presented him to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so that he would be just and justify the one who has faith in Jesus.
    (23) All have sinned(we imprisoned in our our own sin)
    (24) But we have been justified freely by his grace “through or by” the redemption that is in Christ Jesus
    (25) God presented him as the mercy seat by his blood, through faith to demonstrate his righteousness. God slew his own son to demonstrate his righteousness to the world. Because in his restraint God passed over(not excused) sins previously committed before the cross.
    (26) God presented him to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time so that he would be just. God wanted the world to see that his bar or standard is fixed and he plays no favoritism. He killed his own son to prove that.
    (26) “so that he would be just and justify the one who has faith in Jesus”
In the birth, death and resurrection of Jesus; God Justice was satisfied and his desire to bestow his love and grace on mankind realized because “in the fulness of time God sent his son, born from a woman, born under the law”

    Intro:

Larry is a diminutive of Lawrence, meaning "laurel-crowned" or "from Laurentum," an ancient Roman town known for its laurel trees, symbolizing victory, honor, and heritage, popular in English-speaking countries since the late 19th century
In Hebrew culture, names are profoundly important, representing a person's essence, destiny, and connection to heritage, serving as more than just labels; they carry spiritual meaning, reflect character, link generations (often naming after deceased relatives), and are central to religious identity and rituals like calling to the Torah.Names are believed to influence fate and personality, embodying hopes, blessings, and stories that connect individuals to their spiritual potential and Jewish history.
; rather, the Hebrew word for "man" (adam) comes from "adamah" (earth/ground), so God called the first man Adam because he was formed from the dust, making "Adam" a title meaning "earthling" or "mankind," which God later applied to the first man, and Eve became "mother of all living" (mother of humanity) after the fall.
Notice the story of Moses in Exodus 2:5-10
    Exodus 2:5–10 CSB
5 Pharaoh’s daughter went down to bathe at the Nile while her servant girls walked along the riverbank. She saw the basket among the reeds, sent her slave girl, took it, 6 opened it, and saw him, the child—and there he was, a little boy, crying. She felt sorry for him and said, “This is one of the Hebrew boys.” 7 Then his sister said to Pharaoh’s daughter, “Should I go and call a Hebrew woman who is nursing to nurse the boy for you?” 8 “Go,” Pharaoh’s daughter told her. So the girl went and called the boy’s mother. 9 Then Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, “Take this child and nurse him for me, and I will pay your wages.” So the woman took the boy and nursed him. 10 When the child grew older, she brought him to Pharaoh’s daughter, and he became her son. She named him Moses, “Because,” she said, “I drew him out of the water.”
Moses names means: drawing out, deliverer, saved from water
Notice Pharaoh’s daughter named him “Moses” related to how she procured him
This tells us that naming children in relationship to their “essence, purpose, and destiny” was not just a Hebrew tradition but a near eastern tradition.
    Review:
    Isaiah 9:6 CSB
For a child will be born for us, a son will be given to us, and the government will be on his shoulders. He will be named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.
The hypostatic union. The word became flesh and dwelt amoung us!

    II. His Name(His Character)

    Isaiah 9:6 CSB
6 For a child will be born for us, a son will be given to us, and the government will be on his shoulders. He will be named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah is Qualifying the Messiah as the only true final Ruler of the Cosmos.
Remeber Isaiah is prophetically describing someone that was to come. He was giving them a blueprint of what to look for. Then he goes into the description:
    Wonderful Counselor
Wonderful: inspiring delight, pleasure, or admiration; extremely good; marvelous.
This is our definition of the word “wonderful” After watching a good movie we might say ‘that was a wonderful movie” or after having a great meal we might say “that was a wonderful steak”
Our word describes something that brings delight or pleasure, but the Hebrew word is different:
    Wonderful-Incomprehensible
Isaiah: An Introduction and Commentary iv. The Royal Hope (9:1–7)

Wonderful: literally ‘a Wonder of a Counsellor’. The vast majority of the eighty times the pālā’, its noun (as here, pele’) and adjective (pilĕ’î) occur, they refer to the Lord, himself and his works. It is the nearest word Hebrew has to the idea of ‘supernatural’, here bringing a wisdom far above the human:

This adjective is used to something that is beyond human comprehension. When we have a good meal we generally know the components of the meal and how it was prepared. But this word describes something we cannot wrap our minds around! Let me show you this word again in Judges 13:13-18
    Judges 13:13–18 CSB
13 The angel of the Lord answered Manoah, “Your wife needs to do everything I told her. 14 She must not eat anything that comes from the grapevine or drink wine or beer. And she must not eat anything unclean. Your wife must do everything I have commanded her.” 15 “Please stay here,” Manoah told him, “and we will prepare a young goat for you.” 16 The angel of the Lord said to him, “If I stay, I won’t eat your food. But if you want to prepare a burnt offering, offer it to the Lord.” (Manoah did not know he was the angel of the Lord.) 17 Then Manoah said to him, “What is your name, so that we may honor you when your words come true?” 18 “Why do you ask my name,” the angel of the Lord asked him, “since it is beyond understanding?”
    (18) “Since it is beyond your “Comprehension” the “angel of the Lord”(Christophany) and OT appearance of Christ. Says you don’t want to know my name It is beyond your “Understanding” Just listen to what I have told you. If I give you too much it will be more than you can bear!
Isaiah says the Messiah is “an incomprehensible counselor” His wisdom & knowledge and acumen is beyond our ability to even understand.
There is a saying in politics now when a particular politician has displayed an adept knowledge of current and future implications of the political landscape in relationship to his opponents.
“"One is playing checkers while the other is playing chess," , often implying the chess player is smarter or has a significant advantage in life or business. It highlights the contrast between short-sighted, one-dimensional thinking and sophisticated, multi-layered strategy, with chess representing deeper planning, varied pieces (roles), and more complex outcomes”
Well saints while we play checkers and chest God is playing 4d chest:
"4D chess" is a metaphor for an incredibly complex, multi-layered strategy where one person's moves seem illogical or even foolish to others but are actually brilliant maneuvers with far-reaching, unseen consequences, often involving foresight into future timelines or alternate scenarios
God route he took Moses through to get to the promise land. He lead them into a trap. Listen to what Pharaoh said about them: Exodus 13:17-18
    Exodus 13:17–18 CSB
17 When Pharaoh let the people go, God did not lead them along the road to the land of the Philistines, even though it was nearby; for God said, “The people will change their minds and return to Egypt if they face war.” 18 So he led the people around toward the Red Sea along the road of the wilderness. And the Israelites left the land of Egypt in battle formation.
    Exodus 14:1–3 CSB
1 Then the Lord spoke to Moses: 2 “Tell the Israelites to turn back and camp in front of Pi-hahiroth, between Migdol and the sea; you must camp in front of Baal-zephon, facing it by the sea. 3 Pharaoh will say of the Israelites: They are wandering around the land in confusion; the wilderness has boxed them in.
God lead his own people into a trap. One-way in with them facing the Red Sea. Pharaoh assumed the Israelites were finished and their God he left them now he sought to get his revenge. What he didn’t account for was the “splitting of the Sea!”
And that fool was so prideful and arrogant “He followed them into the sea believing he was going to get the same protection as them!”
This my friends is what Isaiah is describing in this name “Wonderful, incomprehensible Counselor”
not only is an incomprehensible guide, he is also a undefeated warrior
    Mighty God
One of the most important qualities of a King is his ability to protect his kingdom. It does not matter how benevolent a king is if he cannot protect those to whom he has been given responsibility to care for.
Isaiah tells us he is a “Mighty God”
There are two different words words for “All Mighty” and “Mighty”
All Mighty is “El Shaddai” and it means “all sufficient one” one who is enough!
Mighty is the word “Gibbor” it means “warrior, valiant one, or hero”
Saints Isaiah tells us “The Messiah” will be a warrior, a hero, a valiant one!
This is why the disciples were so confused about the first advent or mission listen to them even when he is leaving the earth during his ascension in Acts 1:4-7
    Acts 1:4–7 CSB
4 While he was with them, he commanded them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait for the Father’s promise. “Which,” he said, “you have heard me speak about; 5 for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit in a few days.” 6 So when they had come together, they asked him, “Lord, are you restoring the kingdom to Israel at this time?” 7 He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or periods that the Father has set by his own authority.
    (6) Jesus is on his way out. And the disciples were still like “but wait Isaiah 9:6 said you are a “mighty warrior” when are you going to whipped “Rome’s butt” The disciples were playing checkers while Jesus was playing 4-d chest.
What they didn’t understand is that God is still saving his children(the elect) throughout all generations even those that weren’t born yet.
And that when God cracks the sky oneday his Battle Victory won’t be “Local” it will be Cosmological!!! The whole world will see it. There will not be a spot in the Cosmos that won’t be affected by his victory!
In other words disciples I love yall but If I destroy Rome right now it will be local. People will move on. When I wage war it will final and decisive!!! Listen to the Lord in Revelation 19:17-21
    Revelation 19:17–21 CSB
17 Then I saw an angel standing in the sun, and he called out in a loud voice, saying to all the birds flying high overhead, “Come, gather together for the great supper of God, 18 so that you may eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of military commanders, the flesh of the mighty, the flesh of horses and of their riders, and the flesh of everyone, both free and slave, small and great.” 19 Then I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies gathered together to wage war against the rider on the horse and against his army. 20 But the beast was taken prisoner, and along with it the false prophet, who had performed the signs in its presence. He deceived those who accepted the mark of the beast and those who worshiped its image with these signs. Both of them were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulfur. 21 The rest were killed with the sword that came from the mouth of the rider on the horse, and all the birds ate their fill of their flesh.
Coming right behind this marvelous, incomprehensible warrior is a “tender & loving Father”
    Eternal Father
Saints this is good!!! Isaiah is talking to a people who know what it means to “have a father temporarily”
A good or bad father has the ability to severally impact the behavior and decision of those they lead.
My dad didn’t get to see me graduate. He didn’t get to see my children graduate. There is so much he has missed. His impact was so magnanimous in my life, but in the life we must grapple with the fact that people don’t live forever. We only have them for moments, and seasons. Every marriage, every family will be broken at some point.
I want to offer everyone in the room. A father who will never leave. A father that will never forsake. A father that will never miss a moment! This is what Christianity offers that no other religious ideology offers. An ever-present Father.
Tender, loving, kind, compassionate, patient and protective.
I miss my Father!!! but I have something far better than my earthly Dad. I have the incomprensible, Mighty and Eternal Father guiding, protecting, and leading me!!!
Parents as your children get older you need to start breaking up with them progressively. Like a mother bird who pushes he children out of the nest. Teach your children to look to him and not you. Teach them to pray, teach them to trust the Lord, and even when there are times you could get involved in their lives and solve a problem for them don’t let the Lord do it, so that you get them used to depending on the “Eternal Father” rather you “the Temporal Father”
Saints the Incomprensible, mighty and eternal father will also bring an Eternal peace!
    Prince of Peace
I remember reading somewhere an historian's estimation that, in the past 3500 or so years of human history, we had seen only 268 in which no major armed conflicts were known to have been fought around the world.
There have been zero days without war globally since 1914, as conflict has been continuous, with major wars like WWI and WWII, numerous smaller conflicts, and ongoing civil/internal strife, making any extended period of total global peace historically non-existent and impossible to quantify in days
    Matthew 24:6–7 CSB
6 You are going to hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, because these things must take place, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation will rise up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.
Jesus tells us as his coming comes closer War will intensify in scope and effect! It will be both local and global!
This helps us to understand his name “The Prince of Peace!” this tells us Man can make treatise, men can make agreement’s, men can create laws to mitigate human loss of life, but ultimately the only who can bring peace is “the Prince of Peace” Listen to James talk about war in James 4:1-3
    James 4:1–3 CSB
1 What is the source of wars and fights among you? Don’t they come from your passions that wage war within you? 2 You desire and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and wage war. You do not have because you do not ask. 3 You ask and don’t receive because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures.
War & Conflict will always be apart of our existence because mankind is never satisfied. It’s never enough. They want land, they want resources, they want stuff so they wage war.
Saints during Jesus first advent let me show you what he did!!!
    Conclusion:
    Colossians 2:13–15 CSB
13 And when you were dead in trespasses and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, he made you alive with him and forgave us all our trespasses. 14 He erased the certificate of debt, with its obligations, that was against us and opposed to us, and has taken it away by nailing it to the cross. 15 He disarmed the rulers and authorities and disgraced them publicly; he triumphed over them in him.
(13-15) You were dead! Then made alive!! (14) he erase your charges with all the consequences associated with the we broke!
and how did he do it?
He nailed it on the cross!!
    (15) He disarmed! He snatch from Satan and Demons any power they had over us.
    What about his Second Advent?
    Isaiah 11:1–9 CSB
1 Then a shoot will grow from the stump of Jesse, and a branch from his roots will bear fruit. 2 The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him— a Spirit of wisdom and understanding, a Spirit of counsel and strength, a Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord. 3 His delight will be in the fear of the Lord. He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes, he will not execute justice by what he hears with his ears, 4 but he will judge the poor righteously and execute justice for the oppressed of the land. He will strike the land with a scepter from his mouth, and he will kill the wicked with a command from his lips. 5 Righteousness will be a belt around his hips; faithfulness will be a belt around his waist. 6 The wolf will dwell with the lamb, and the leopard will lie down with the goat. The calf, the young lion, and the fattened calf will be together, and a child will lead them. 7 The cow and the bear will graze, their young ones will lie down together, and the lion will eat straw like cattle. 8 An infant will play beside the cobra’s pit, and a toddler will put his hand into a snake’s den. 9 They will not harm or destroy each other on my entire holy mountain, for the land will be as full of the knowledge of the Lord as the sea is filled with water.
Open the doors of the church!!

    III. His Rule(His Role)

    Isaiah 9:6–7 CSB
6 For a child will be born for us, a son will be given to us, and the government will be on his shoulders. He will be named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. 7 The dominion will be vast, and its prosperity will never end. He will reign on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish and sustain it with justice and righteousness from now on and forever. The zeal of the Lord of Armies will accomplish this.
