  • Matthew 6:5–13 NLT
5 “When you pray, don’t be like the hypocrites who love to pray publicly on street corners and in the synagogues where everyone can see them. I tell you the truth, that is all the reward they will ever get. 6 But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private. Then your Father, who sees everything, will reward you. 7 “When you pray, don’t babble on and on as the Gentiles do. They think their prayers are answered merely by repeating their words again and again. 8 Don’t be like them, for your Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask him! 9 Pray like this: Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. 10 May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. 11 Give us today the food we need, 12 and forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us. 13 And don’t let us yield to temptation, but rescue us from the evil one.
    Introduction:
These days almost everyone has a cell phone, Computer that requires a connection to a reliable server. When we have a bad server or bad connection, communication can be hard to achieve. However, as believers we have a server connection that never takes a brake, is always up and running 24/7. The Bible says in Revelation 3:20.
This is addressed to the Christian, because we have fellowship with Jesus that door is always open to us. 1 John 1:9 . So the connection is always available for service.
Last month we started a new series on revival from 2 Chronicles 7:14 We talked about Humbling yourself before God’s sight. Today we will be learning about how prayer plays a big part in revival as well. So put on your seat belts we are about to hit the highway.

    1. Don’t Draw attention to yourself.

    Matthew 6:5 NLT
5 “When you pray, don’t be like the hypocrites who love to pray publicly on street corners and in the synagogues where everyone can see them. I tell you the truth, that is all the reward they will ever get.
There is no formula when it comes prayer i think God is more interested in what is in our heart , than what we say or how we pray.
He desires us t,seek Him. Jeremiah 33:3 “3 Ask me and I will tell you remarkable secrets you do not know about things to come.”

    2. Pray in Private to your Father.

    Matthew 6:6 NLT
6 But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private. Then your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.
God Desires to know you James says if we draw near to God he will draw near us. He is a relational God. In Ephesians 1:5
    Ephesians 1:5 NLT
5 God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure.

    3. Pray from within your own heart.

    Matthew 6:7–8 NLT
7 “When you pray, don’t babble on and on as the Gentiles do. They think their prayers are answered merely by repeating their words again and again. 8 Don’t be like them, for your Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask him!
Philippians 4 says be anxious for nothing, but in everything by Prayer and supplication with thanksgiving make your request know to God and the peace of God will be with you.
    Conclusion:
    How is your connection?
Do you need to do some trouble shooting.
    Ia Christ your reconciler ?
