    What Do I Want Them To Know?
    You who want to be under the law… Are you not aware of what the laws says.
    Kick out the slave woman and her son

    Galatians 4:21–31 NIV - Anglicised
    Tell me, you who want to be under the law, are you not aware of what the law says? For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by the slave woman and the other by the free woman. His son by the slave woman was born in the ordinary way; but his son by the free woman was born as the result of a promise. These things may be taken figuratively, for the women represent two covenants. One covenant is from Mount Sinai and bears children who are to be slaves: This is Hagar. Now Hagar stands for Mount Sinai in Arabia and corresponds to the present city of Jerusalem, because she is in slavery with her children. But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother. For it is written: “Be glad, O barren woman, who bears no children; break forth and cry aloud, you who have no labour pains; because more are the children of the desolate woman than of her who has a husband.” Now you, brothers, like Isaac, are children of promise. At that time the son born in the ordinary way persecuted the son born by the power of the Spirit. It is the same now. But what does the Scripture say? “Get rid of the slave woman and her son, for the slave woman’s son will never share in the inheritance with the free woman’s son.”Therefore, brothers, we are not children of the slave woman, but of the free woman.

    The law was added so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more,
    Through the law we become conscious of sin

    Therefore no-one will be declared righteous in his sight by observing the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of sin.

    3. THE METAPHOR OF THE WOMEN REPRESENTS THE OLD AND NEW COVENANTS

    1. The Jerusalem that is from above.
    2. The mother of freedom
    Son’s Represent Heritage
    As believers, we are to be Children of promise

    4. THE ETERNAL FATE OF THE SON’S

    Son of the flesh is a persecutor
    Always persecutes the son born by the power of the Spirit
    Kick Out the slave woman and her son
    The slave woman’s son will never share in the inheritance with the free woman’s son

    5. THE SPIRITUAL SIGNIFICANCE OF THE WOMEN AND THEIR SON’S

    The Law Of Moses Is All About Slavery
    The law was born into slavery (The law was added because of sin)
    Hagar, An Egyptian born into slavery
    The law without the love of God is slavery...
    Impossible to keep.
    No way to get ahead
    It bears children who are to be slaves
    The law always produces imprisonment, bondage and slavery
    The Law Of Love (New Covenant) Is All About Freedom
    The Jerusalem that is from above (Heaven)
    Our Citizenship is in heaven (New Jerusalem)
    Philippians 3:20 NIV - Anglicised
    But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Saviour from there, the Lord Jesus Christ,
    Mount Zion, the new Jerusalem

    TAKE HOME TRUTHS

    Ignorance to the law brings slavery
    The law reproduces the acts of the flesh
    The women represent birthing the flesh or the Spirit… Slavery or Freedom
    You must identify with Isaac (accept your true identity in Christ.)

    YOUR RESPONSE TO TRUTH

    Will you accept your true Identity in Christ ... original intent
    Will you accept that you are God’s offspring
    Will you receive your genuine innocence in Christ
    Will you kick out the law … By Force .... yeast—teaching of the law
    How do you kick something out of your mind? REPLACE IT!
