  • GOD IS IN LOVE WITH THIS WORLD (PEOPLE)

Jesus loves the little children, all the children of the world, red and yellow, black and white, they are precious in his sight. Jesus loves the little children of the world.

There is a hurting world that desperately needs the love of God!

???How many of you really care about those who will spend eternity without God???
If we are God’s children and his family, we must love what he loves and care about what he cares about!
    God so loved the world
    John 3:16 NIV - Anglicised
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
God is not willing that any should perish
    2 Peter 3:9 NIV - Anglicised
The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
God is a compassionate God, slow to anger and abounding in love
    Psalm 86:15 NIV - Anglicised
But you, O Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness.
    Romans 5:8 NIV - Anglicised
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
, The whole earth groans waiting in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed (Those who have become mature in the love of God)

HOW WILL THE WORLD BE DRAWN TO CHRIST?

    1. Through Christ’s ambassadors (You and me)

You are God’s representative to earth
    2 Corinthians 5:17–21 NIV - Anglicised
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
I have become all things to all people
    1 Corinthians 9:19–27 NIV - Anglicised
Though I am free and belong to no man, I make myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible. To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I myself am not under the law), so as to win those under the law. To those not having the law I became like one not having the law (though I am not free from God’s law but am under Christ’s law), so as to win those not having the law. To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some. I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings. Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last for ever. Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.

    2. Through God’s Kindness

God’s kindness leads you toward repentance
    Romans 2:4 NIV - Anglicised
Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, tolerance and patience, not realising that God’s kindness leads you towards repentance?
We can never change people through negativity....

    3. Through God’s Love

By this will all men know that you are my disciples - LOVE -
    John 13:34–35 NIV - Anglicised
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

WHAT IS THE OPPOSITE OF LOVE?

    Hate

God is love- Whoever lives in love lives in God and God in him
    1 John 4:16 NIV - Anglicised
And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him.
If God is Love - Satan is hate… Light / Darkness
Cannot love God yet hate brother
    1 John 4:20–21 NIV - Anglicised
If anyone says, “I love God,” yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen. And he has given us this command: Whoever loves God must also love his brother.

Self (what is in it for me)

God so loved that he gave
    John 3:16 NIV - Anglicised
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
This is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his son
    1 John 4:10–11 NIV - Anglicised
This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

    Worldliness

    WHAT IS WORLDLINESS?

Lust of the flesh, eyes and pride not of the Father but of the world
    1 John 2:16–17 NIV - Anglicised
For everything in the world—the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does—comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives for ever.
One of the greatest signs of worldliness is quarreling
    Jealousy and quarreling
    1 Corinthians 3:1–4 NIV - Anglicised
Brothers, I could not address you as spiritual but as worldly—mere infants in Christ. I gave you milk, not solid food, for you were not yet ready for it. Indeed, you are still not ready. You are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and quarrelling among you, are you not worldly? Are you not acting like mere men? For when one says, “I follow Paul,” and another, “I follow Apollos,” are you not mere men?
Take each other to court / Why would you not rather be wronged/ cheated
    1 Corinthians 6:1–11 NIV - Anglicised
If any of you has a dispute with another, dare he take it before the ungodly for judgment instead of before the saints? Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if you are to judge the world, are you not competent to judge trivial cases? Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more the things of this life! Therefore, if you have disputes about such matters, appoint as judges even men of little account in the church!I say this to shame you. Is it possible that there is nobody among you wise enough to judge a dispute between believers? But instead, one brother goes to law against another—and this in front of unbelievers! The very fact that you have lawsuits among you means you have been completely defeated already. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be cheated? Instead, you yourselves cheat and do wrong, and you do this to your brothers. Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
What does the world think when they see the church, who is supposed to be revealing the love and life of God to them, being nasty to each other on the world stage of the internet? Would they want our God??? NO!

HOW CAN WE IMPACT THE WORLD?....

Instead of fighting… be a shining example of what someone who is filled with Christ and his love looks like… Honey or vinigar....
    Luke 6:27–49 NIV - Anglicised
“But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who ill-treat you. If someone strikes you on one cheek, turn to him the other also. If someone takes your cloak, do not stop him from taking your tunic. Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. Do to others as you would have them do to you. “If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even ‘sinners’ love those who love them. And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even ‘sinners’ do that. And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you? Even ‘sinners’ lend to ‘sinners’, expecting to be repaid in full. But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful. “Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” He also told them this parable: “Can a blind man lead a blind man? Will they not both fall into a pit? A student is not above his teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will be like his teacher. “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when you yourself fail to see the plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye. “No good tree bears bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. Each tree is recognised by its own fruit. People do not pick figs from thorn-bushes, or grapes from briers. The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks. “Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say? I will show you what he is like who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice. He is like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When the flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete.”

HOW CAN WE BECOME GOD’S EXAMPLE OF LOVE?

    Repent

Repent and believe the good news
    Mark 1:15 NIV - Anglicised
“The time has come,” he said. “The kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the good news!”
We must agree that God’s ways are right
    Call sin, sin
Everything opposite of love is sin
Everything opposite of faith is sin

Surrender to the love of God

What you behold is what you will become
Your dominate thoughts determine your future
We love because he first loved us
    1 John 4:19 NIV - Anglicised
We love because he first loved us.

Be Transformed by renewing your mind

Transformed by the renewing of your mind
    Romans 12:2 NIV - Anglicised
Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Set your hearts and minds on things above (God/love)
    Colossians 3:1–2 NIV - Anglicised
Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.
