13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus. 14 And seeing the man who had been healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it. 15 But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves, 16 saying, “What shall we do to these men? For, indeed, that a notable miracle has been done through them is evident to all who dwell in Jerusalem, and we cannot deny it.
    Prayer:
    Introduction:

    Peter and John were Bold.

    -Peter was not always bold.
    Luke 22:54–62 NKJV
54 Having arrested Him, they led Him and brought Him into the high priest’s house. But Peter followed at a distance. 55 Now when they had kindled a fire in the midst of the courtyard and sat down together, Peter sat among them. 56 And a certain servant girl, seeing him as he sat by the fire, looked intently at him and said, “This man was also with Him.” 57 But he denied Him, saying, “Woman, I do not know Him.” 58 And after a little while another saw him and said, “You also are of them.” But Peter said, “Man, I am not!” 59 Then after about an hour had passed, another confidently affirmed, saying, “Surely this fellow also was with Him, for he is a Galilean.” 60 But Peter said, “Man, I do not know what you are saying!” Immediately, while he was still speaking, the rooster crowed. 61 And the Lord turned and looked at Peter. Then Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how He had said to him, “Before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.” 62 So Peter went out and wept bitterly.
    — A servant girl simply noted that he was one of the 12 and he denied Jesus.
    — After the reresection he gets confidence in the Lord, so much confidence in the Lord that now he is not concerned for His own life.
    — What us different about Peter at this stage is what he is doing and who he is around!

Their authority was rooted in their relationship with God, not in the politics of those who failed to recognize the Lord.

    — It is not true that these men were uneducated and untrained.
    — They spent three and a half years with Jesus.
    — They where hand picked by the Lord.
    — Their internship was when they where sent out two by two.
    — Their internship was further when they could nit get the boy with the unclean spirit threw himself in the fire delivered and he told them this kind comes out only in prayer and fasting.

Who you gave been around it tangible to others.

    1 Corinthians 15:33 NKJV
33 Do not be deceived: “Evil company corrupts good habits.”
    Proverbs 13:20 NKJV
20 He who walks with wise men will be wise, But the companion of fools will be destroyed.
    — Youth workers and parents love these verses because we like to tell our kids to be careful about who they hang out with. The same is true for us. I have found this to be true for me over and over again. We cannot get where we are going while do ing what we used to do.
    — Again, as I have said over and over, don’t make an announcement, “hanging with you is getting in the way of my purpose.” No no, be intentional about your time. as I have said, don’t say, “Your a bad influence.” or your “dragging me down.” Rather, you should just get busy doing what you need to do and you might be surprised by who comes with you. you may also be surprised by who does not. Consider this please, my goal is to get people of faith off of their blessed assurance and into their purpose.

They saw Jesus in Peter and John.
