    Opening Prayer:
Lord, we come to You this morning grateful for another week to see Your love, Your power, and Your grace at work in our lives and in the world.
As we gather once again, we thank You and celebrate these young people who have been baptized.
And now, as we turn to Your Word, help us to open our hearts to the truth You desire to teach us today.
In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.
    Introduction:
    Good morning,
Two weeks ago, we began a journey— a journey of learning to walk out the faith that we say we believe.
We made a decision together that we were not going to do the “Sunday School thing.” We were not going to pretend to be in a place that we are not. We were not going to settle for talking about faith—we are going to learn to walk in it.
Because the truth is, it is very easy to say the right things… and yet live in a way that does not reflect what we say we believe.
But we are the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ. And Christ has chosen us to continue His ministry on the earth.
The world around us is dark. And if the world has ever needed a Church that looks like Jesus—it is now.
But if we are going to look like Jesus, we are going to have to learn to listen to the Holy Spirit.
If we are going to be a people of faith, then we are going to have to understand what it means to live by faith.
Because the Bible does not just say that we are saved by faith— it says:

    Habakkuk 2:4 (NKJV)

“…the just shall live by his faith.”
That is not a moment. That is a way of life.
And that is what we are learning to walk in.

We live in the world’s system.

The Proud do not have an upright soul. This is the system of the world. it is
    Proverbs 14:12 NKJV
12 There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.
    Proverbs 16:25 NKJV
25 There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.
The Lord is speaking to the prophet about. The world is deceived.
The system of the world feeds itself.
it has its own sense of right and wrong that is opposite of the word.
this is why when we start talking about faith it is so completely opposite from what the world sees.
    1 John 2:15–17 NKJV
15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. 17 And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever

We are called to reflect the Light.

    Psalm 34:8 NKJV
8 Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!
As we walk into this journey of faith we are called to taste of the Lord and see that He is Good.
You and I are Christians. If the world is going to taste and see that the Lord is good, they are going to taste it from our lives.
We are witnesses of who Christ is. If the world is going to see the power of God they are going to see it in and through our lives.
trusting God and walking in obedience in our daily lives. By doing the things that God that the Lord is calling us to do the people of the world have an opportunity to see the difference.
Through our personal Journey of faith, our christian walk we will be a light shining in the darkness.
    Acts 1:8 NKJV
8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
The Holy Spirit, not strength of character leads us to be witnesses.

    We are the Just

    Romans 3:24 NKJV
24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,
Our Justness is supplied by the cross of Christ. through excepting Christ as Lord and savior.
Our common faith is in Jesus Christ.
His sacrifice on the cross paid the debt for the sins of those who has surrendered to the Lordship of Christ.

Our salvation shows up in our lives—it is reflected in how we live.

    Romans 6:19–22 NKJV
19 I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented your members as slaves of uncleanness, and of lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves of righteousness for holiness. 20 For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. 21 What fruit did you have then in the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. 22 But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life.
We are called to to live different from the world. the word changes how we act and function .
We all struggle and none of us are perfect but we should be careful that we are not more concerned with the world than the Lord .
I am not Holier than anyone else— I am also not talking about playing Church. (Far to many people two play Church, we pretend to be in a place that we are not.)
On the other hand, as Christians we should not have the attitude that the world has here I am take me or leave me. Well, as a Christian, I am taking you, I have to.
I want to plead with you— don’t waste your life. God wants to use all of us, not just a preachers and platform people and singers. In fact, we are tech support, I am here preaching, the ushers are serving we have people in children's Church. the praise team lead us in worship. All of us are here to learn the word and get crosser to the Lord. Your life in christ is a witness to the world. People see Christ even in imperfect Christians who are struggling to over come sin.
The problem I have is that many of us are not confronting our sin we are building a wing in our life for it.
Our lives are not our own, they are the Lords.
This is how we are different for the world. The world lives for it self, we are called to live for Christ. We are not our own.

We are called to live by faith.

    Habakkuk 2:4 — Faith (אֱמוּנָה, emunah, Strong’s H530)

Definition: Steady trust expressed through faithful living; firmness, steadfastness, reliability over time.
The content of this sermon was entirely formed by the Hebrew definition of faith.
I was looking for the first mention of what we will talk about in weeks to come. When I came to this verse and looked at the Hebrew definition. I realized that we will never be able to walk in the faith that He is calling us to until we have the desire to live as an example of the God that rescued us.
We are called to live by faith.
Not just to say we believe— but to live in steady, faithful trust in God.
    That means:
    trusting Him when we understand
    trusting Him when we don’t
and allowing our lives to reflect the God who saved us
Because our salvation is not hidden— it shows up in how we live.
And if we are honest this morning…
some of us are not struggling because we don’t know what to do— we are struggling because we have not surrendered what we already know.
We are trying to live in both worlds.
We are holding on to things that God is asking us to let go of.
We are building space in our lives for sin instead of confronting it.
    And in doing that—
we are missing what God wants to do in us and through us.
But the good news is this:
God is not finished with you.
God is not done working in your life.
    And today—
you have an opportunity to take a step forward in your journey of faith.
Not by pretending… Not by performing… But by surrendering.
    Don’t waste your life.
Don’t miss what God has for you— because you are holding on to something He is asking you to release.
If the praise team and the prayer team would come forward now…
Just like we said—we are on a journey together.
And if we are going to learn to trust God like never before, some of us are going to need spiritual open-heart surgery.
We are going to need to let God deal with those places… heal those places… and then move forward.
