Good morning, Church Family. MASK, SOCIAL DISTANCE AND PRAYER. While the majority of our world leaves out the last element, His people (that’s US) know it is a blessing for us to be part of God’s plan to take the Good News of our Lord throughout the whole world in order to fulfill His Word. Most of these efforts are through our missionaries. So much is happening worldwide effecting missionaries, now coupled with the Corona Virus, that God has placed a desire in our hearts to pray for them as we receive communication from them. We ask that you join us. First, pray for the universal needs of virtually all missionaries and
then briefly hear individual requests.
Universally, virtually all missionaries ask that we pray for: OPEN DOORS, BOLDNESS, THAT GOD’S WORD WILL SPREAD, FOR PROTECTION, FOR TRAVEL, FOR REFRESHMENT
Karla and Jim Gutel– National Field Representative for Specialized Intercultural Missionaries; SoCal Missionary Care Specialist
Karla and Jim have been in a difficult season! Since quarantine began Jim has been in the hospital 3 times for various heart procedures. He had a cardiac ablation a few weeks ago and was
in the hospital a couple of days and now is dealing with cancer on his left hand (yes, he is left handed!) This Covid season makes it difficult, because when he is hospitalized they are not
allowed to visit and getting information is difficult. Karla says that it “has been an opportunity for me to learn some new lessons about trust!” Also, during this time she made a transition in ministry.
She will now serve as the SoCal Missionary Care Specialist to provide support for our Southern California Assemblies of God World and US missionaries to maintain health and growth in their
personal lives and ministries. In addition to this, the National Office of the Assemblies of God Intercultural Missions has asked her to serve as a National Field Representative to Specialized
Intercultural Missionaries where she will provide leadership for missionaries who serve throughout the United States. She will support, coach and develop missionaries from recruitment through
retirement. Jim will continue in his role to assist their son, Joe, in Riverstone Chapel of Chatsworth.
They ask that we pray for Jim’s health and for their new ministry during this transition. They also need to raise an additional $1500 monthly support. Steve and Barbara Schultz – Royal Rangers International– World Ministry (currently based in Springfield, Missouri)
Church Family, welcome the Schultz family as our new Missionaries to South Coast.
While they are new to us, they have been long term missionaries traveling worldwide to develop this important international mentoring program to help young boys from kindergarten to the 6th grade in an activity-based church ministry. The mission of the program is to evangelize, equip, and empower the next generation of Christlike men and lifelong servant leaders. Pastor Craig has
known them for some time and as you know, he has a special place in his heart for the work of Royal Rangers Ministry. As with most of our missionaries, this is a hard time to be able to travel and interact with the people with whom God has sent them. Pray for fruitful activity as they continue to plan from their base in Springfield.
Brandon Kertson – Chi Alpha (XA) Ministry at San Diego State and GrossmontCommunity College District.
Our Chi Alpha students understand the power of prayer. Like Job, they believe the Lord will turn the negative captivity of pandemic when they pray...and like Job they are praying for
their friends and everyone on their campus. Brandon included a terrific video with a large number of students having a PRAYER WALK as they covered the entire campus – dorms, buildings, open
fields - as they prayed for “Christ’s love and a transformation of the lives on campus.” It included videoing the “follow the safety rules” signs as we’ve heard of virus breakouts as students return to
campus and act as if they are exempt from harm.
Sunday, September 27 is Chi Alpha day. Chi Alpha is the Assemblies of God’s ministry to the secular university. With over 315 campuses across the nation and even more international, Chi Alpha is impacting tens of thousands of students annually and is one of AGWM’s primary pipelines for World Missionaries. Chi Alpha believes the greatest spiritual awakening of our time will begin on the college campus! Lets pray together for increased salvations, baptisms and laborers. Pray for our So Cal Chi Alpha’s at UCLA, UC Santa Barbara, San Diego State and Grossmont College. Pray for more campuses to be pioneered in So Cal.

Please be praying for all of our South Coast Church Missionaries and remember to continue your monthly giving to support their work for the Lord around the world. The Mission of the Church is Missions
So All Can Heal
