    Where are the kind people?

We are the followers of Jesus not the Christian-ish. We trust God with our vengeance. We are victorious because He is!

We need victory in our lives today. Today I want to share how to receive blessings, honor and favor from God.
Important for your neighbor to here. WIll you pray for the person on your right and your left, or behind if your on the end of the aisle. Will you give of yourself to intercede for them against distraction and to open their mind to everything God wants to tell them.

    Prayer

    Proverbs 3:33–35 CSB
33 The Lord’s curse is on the household of the wicked, but he blesses the home of the righteous; 34 He mocks those who mock, but gives grace to the humble. 35 The wise will inherit honor, but he holds up fools to dishonor.

    Hebrew poetry uses Ante-Parallelism - Bad/Good, Bad/Good, Good/Bad.

When I read a verse, I think oh thats good. Than I ask what does that mean now? Which leads me to wait what does that really mean?
Words mean different things in different contexts like Sport. What is a sport?
Not that important but a promise like
    Proverbs 3:33 CSB
    33 The Lord’s curse is on the household of the wicked, but he blesses the home of the righteous;
    3 powerful words
    - Rasha means Wicked
Rasha comes from a sense of disjointedness, being the crazyiness of a lifestyle without clear guidelines.
We can better understand it by its opposite, Righteousness Sadiq or honesty.
There is a sense of peace that comes with honesty, you know what is happening and what is not happening.

Wicked and Righteous aren’t an event but a characteristic of the home (lifestyle)

A lifestyle is an action of many choices that create a characteristic, not one bad event or one good choice.
    The Process
Got to Baylor it had fired coaches, lost a recruiting class, hist first season they went 1 - 11
People wanted him fired, there would never be enough time
    Now 2 years later

A characteristic is a process developed over time of many choices. Righteousness is a process, a trend, a collection of choosing, to remember and follow Christ.

    its recognition of sin
    its recognition of right
    its accepting of forgiveness
its developing times of remembering Christ is our purpose in our lives.
Living rightly without remembering Christ is a set up to become an annoying idiot.
    Proverbs 3:34 CSB
34 He mocks those who mock, but gives grace to the humble.
-Yalis - Mocking. The opposite of it is humility. And the reward for humility is Grace, its God’s unmerited favor, just good stuff for no reason. But mocking gets back mocking.
There are two senses of the word mocking. One version is a person who thinks they know it all. A person who can’t find a reason in their life for God or creates a life living for whatever they want, sometimes using God when it seems fit, like is popular today by saying “the universe”
    James 4:4, 6-8
    James 4:4 CSB
4 You adulterous people! Don’t you know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? So whoever wants to be the friend of the world becomes the enemy of God.
    James 4:6–8 CSB
6 But he gives greater grace. Therefore he says: God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble. 7 Therefore, submit to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

The characteristic of the humble is the one who always knows they need God.

Another season of mocking is how we treat others.
I asked my wife yesterday about how to describe mocking, "She said, piling on"
    - why I didn't say "sure was an expensive soda when I popped my tire"

We mock to build ourselves up and to build friendship with other people over the shared misery of another. It’s as natural as any sin.

    Autistic woman.
    social disorder
showed a video of a social situation of bullying
shocked a portion of her mind
    showed same video
she realized the two were bonding over teasing another
she lost the ability to read social cues

The trap of righteousness is the blessings of righteousness. Thinking that because you have chosen Christ you are a better person rather than Christ is why you receive blessing.

The prayer of the tax collector and the pharisee
    Luke 18:14 CSB
14 I tell you, this one went down to his house justified rather than the other; because everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.”
    Application -
    How did you grow?
    Was it through mockery?
Was it through the intervention of God in your mind and ways?
    Was it through loving truth?
How do you get God to intervene and loving truth to come into someone’s life?
    James 5:16 CSB
16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is very powerful in its effect.
Humility is the realization that I am sinner in need of God too and the love to pray my neighbor learns that too.
Otherwise dishonor is in their future
    Proverbs 3:35 CSB
35 The wise will inherit honor, but he holds up fools to dishonor.
    - Keisel - Fool
The biggest insult in Proverbs. All over the place in proverbs
What does Keisel mean? strongly stupid and insolent. Insolent - showing a rude and arrogant lack of respect. Arrogance - revealing an exaggerated sense of one's own being.
God himself, exalts you to shame.
Foolishness is the opposite of wisdom. It is not an act but a series of actions and for all of these, foolishness, mocking, wickedness are all what normal people do, just doing life.

But wisdom, humility, and righteousness have to be remembered. They have to be chosen as a pattern to a life of following Jesus.

    That’s why:
we belong and participate with this church
we pick a time to read the bible and pray
we join in a small group
we make budgeting part of our quiet time
we give our schedule to the Lord
we give our conversations to the Lord
we even pray with eating to remember our pattern of life in following Jesus.

Choose to remember your commitment to follow Jesus.
