    There was a time when people got caught up in Mission/Vision statements, blah blah
    The school I teach just had a massive refocusing of what we are about, in returning kids to schools because they overcome their behaviors
    See it gets really basic, companies are collections of people who are paid by others to produce something
    But what are you about?
    That answer is my deepest spiritual truth about myself.
    You can tell what you are really about, by what you complain about
    Every company/group/service builds on that

    We expect airlines to fly us and our stuff to another place
    What is Church about?
    lots of consfusion
    a place - later development
    great place to have a wonderful children’s program and help get teeenagers in a good place, way , way late development
    great preaching, again a later development
    inspiring singing, again a later development

    I need to know that we agree on what we are doing here. Otherwise I’m like a pilot flying a plane with passengers thinking that I should be going to places that I didn’t think we were going to go.
    So let’s start sharing some agreement

    The Church is made up of people who Follow Jesus Christ together.

    Acts 1:14 CSB

    But the church is a group of people not like you, that because of your commitment to Christ you agree to
    Hebrews 10:23–24 CSB
    23 Let us hold on to the confession of our hope without wavering, since he who promised is faithful. 24 And let us watch out for one another to provoke love and good works,

    The confession is that Jesus is Lord, that He is God born of a woman, lived a perfect life, died to pay the price for our sings, rose again. That we can confess that He is God and Lord of our life, the Holy Spirit comes in us, giving us the power to do every good work we need to do and seals us for eternal life, so that even when we die we will live with God forever.
    Then we gather together, choosing to be with a group that we are not connected to in any other way other than we love Jesus together. We do this as we choose to follow Christ.
    Love is modeled for us by Christ in
    1 John 3:16 NRSV
    16 We know love by this, that he laid down his life for us—and we ought to lay down our lives for one another.
    Yet all this is like the recipe of the chicken, or the structure of the planes. TO have the recipe's at chick-fil-a is not what they do, they cook and serve the chicken. Nice planes is not an airline, flying people to places is.
    So what are we about doing?
    This is what we do, given to us by Jesus -

    Who is Jesus talking to?

    A disciple understands what the discipler wants, thinks, does things in life and follows that way.

    Copying = Discipleship

    So my Dad has two big things that bug him at the dinner table. Salt and Ketchup
    This is what it means to make a disciple, they’ve seen it so much they know what to do by copying.
    People copy Jesus, read Jesus, study Jesus, follow Jesus that copy them and you get to know Jesus, so you follow Jesus.

    Whose job is it to make disciples of Jesus Christ?

    I’ve noticed one thing in working, People will talk all kinds of talk about things the company should do. All kinds of ideas but until someone gets assigned the job. No one is doing it right?

    Discipleship is about following Jesus and doing the work of Jesus with others.
