- STRIFE
Genesis 13 KJV 1 And Abram went up out of Egypt, he, and his wife, and all that he had, and Lot with him, into the south. 2 And Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold. 3 And he went on his journeys from the south even to Bethel, unto the place where his tent had been at the beginning, between Bethel and Hai; 4 Unto the place of the altar, which he had made there at the first: and there Abram called on the name of the LORD. 5 And Lot also, which went with Abram, had flocks, and herds, and tents. 6 And the land was not able to bear them, that they might dwell together: for their substance was great, so that they could not dwell together. 7 And there was a strife between the herdmen of Abram’s cattle and the herdmen of Lot’s cattle: and the Canaanite and the Perizzite dwelled then in the land. 8 And Abram said unto Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdmen and thy herdmen; for we be brethren. 9 Is not the whole land before thee? separate thyself, I pray thee, from me: if thou wilt take the left hand, then I will go to the right; or if thou depart to the right hand, then I will go to the left. 10 And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered every where, before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, even as the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt, as thou comest unto Zoar. 11 Then Lot chose him all the plain of Jordan; and Lot journeyed east: and they separated themselves the one from the other. 12 Abram dwelled in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelled in the cities of the plain, and pitched his tent toward Sodom. 13 But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly. 14 And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward: 15 For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever. 16 And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered. 17 Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it unto thee. 18 Then Abram removed his tent, and came and dwelt in the plain of Mamre, which is in Hebron, and built there an altar unto the LORD.In the winter of 2002 I stepped Out on faith, with my wife’s support we took some of our, 401K money and purchased Church Furniture & sound system & 2003 Spring we used our Income tax money & put the deposit down for a 1300 sq foot building. Our last day at Rehoboth was in March, Our first month planting NBM we had service in our Kitchen/living room. Within the first month, God blessed us with favor with my Supervisor and his boss who allowed us to have bible study & Sunday Morning service in the ball room of the YMCA For free until our building was ready in November 2003.Maurice 17, Shablis 13, Clint 7, Jonathan 5Me 35 years old Lady M 36My biggest concern and i had many concerns but my biggest was… I knew My Pastor was my Abraham. But i didn’t want to be his LOTI really Hope you all will be able to understand this philosophyWhen I excepted Christ in my Life I was a clean cut thug. And My Life was turned upside down inside out… I changed for the better. So I became a disciple under Pastor Pullen. I was married At Rehoboth, I was saved there, raised my family there, owned 3 homes there, got better jobs and promotions, Cars you name it.. I had more living legit than i ever had doing crime..Not to mention i grew spiritually quickly. I got saved in 94, preached my trail sermon in 96 ordained as an elder in 98.I was the Missions and Evangelism president, The YPWW teacher on Sunday nights, the Audio video manager, a Sunday School Teacher and i was the Roger Sherman house chaplin so i preached every Sunday morning at 8am… & I was the person that taught bible study for the first 25 min until Pastor arrived because he got off work late.So when it was time to start New Beginnings i was afraid that the Oil of Blessing I was submitted too would dry up once we left…But as you can see it’s flowing like never before.. I inherited a Oil that everyone in this Ministry has a right to claim. (if you live right)This is how I caught the mantle, I served, I followed without question, I wasn’t ever in any scandals or mess, I was available, I was a giver & tither, I sacrificed, lastly I showed and gave honor.. Not Just to my leader but to the Congregation. I was a Son/ still am.Today I need to open up your understanding to a Spirit that has been the enemy to our family for generations. Point 1 Harvesting What I’ve SownDuring my Meditation On Strife: The Holy Spirit Unfolded several examples of how Strife infiltrated my family: The First was the seed to the other two that was my harvest..When I was a young in Christ, My mom had surgery and Me and my wife where with her at the hospital all day, when we got her home my sister came to my mothers home with her boy friend and proceeded to make him something to eat & never considered my mother. (I lost it on her) and i Was wrong.. Strife Later i had to applogize to my sister, my mother and her boyfriend for my behavior. (The Seed)7 years ago (the Harvest) my two eldest children on thanksgiven had exchange of words at my house, while i was out with another son headed to the movies. This strife lasted for several months maybe a year before they where able to reconcile.3 years ago while my two youngest lived together they to feel into the spirit of Strife. And unforgivness, rage and anger took root. God was able to reconcile this relationshipWhen These incidents happen i never tied them to my behavior at my mommas house because i repented and apologized. So if a saved teenager decides to have sex with another teenager and afterwards she finds out she pregnant, and she repented and she still going to have the baby..And many of us are impregnated by that seed we sown. Those crocodile tears ain’t going to stop that harvest from coming.James 1:14–15 TPT 14 Instead it is each person’s own desires and thoughts that drag them into evil and lure them away into darkness. 15 Evil desires give birth to evil actions. And when sin is fully mature it can murder you!Have I Gotten Your Attention Yet!!Another Example of what we as Fathers & Mothers can sow in one generation and it harvest in another. The Lord showed me a relative who’s maternal and paternal grandmothers have relatives that killed there brother’s in anger And this relative is extremly argumentive with almost everyone (Strife)Galatians 6:7 KJV 7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. This principle applies to all dimensions of life—sow negative thoughts, reap negative feelings in all three dimensions of our nature (physically, mentally, spiritually); sow true and positive thoughts, reap positive feelings!…It is not necessary to pay much attention to the harvest, for the harvest is the result of the sowing. We should take heed what we sow.In this Ministries history Primarily The Female Persuasion. The Spirit of Strife Lives & Breathes. We have had a few Eunuch’s that enjoy sitting at the table Stirring Up Mess as well. (But Why)Because up until Now, I miss-diagnosed the Strong Man. I have been calling it and praying against a jezebel spirit. But its the Spirit Pride & The Spirit of Jealousy And The strongman dispatched the Military branch of Strife:And like Domestic Terrorisism is hides in plain site until its instructed to attack.Lord: I bind the Spirit of Pride in this Church and I loose the Humble and Contrite Spirit in the name of Jesus.Lord: I bind the Spirit of jealousy and I Loose the LOVE OF GOD in this Church. In the Name of JesusPoint 2.Character AssassinationGenesis 37:19–20 KJV 19 And they said one to another, Behold, this dreamer cometh. 20 Come now therefore, and let us slay him, and cast him into some pit, and we will say, Some evil beast hath devoured him: and we shall see what will become of his dreams.Dream Killers: Igniting the Passion to Overcome Your Obstacles and Mistakes 7. Character AssassinationWE ALL HAVE HAD THAT AWKWARD MOMENT WHEN someone publicly speaks out their opinion of another in a cruel and harsh manner. Oftentimes others are left speechless and caught off guard by a verbal assault intended to destroy someone’s reputation.
Dream Killers: Igniting the Passion to Overcome Your Obstacles and Mistakes 7. Character AssassinationThat is what is called character assassination. It may involve rumors, innuendos, double-talk, spinning information, exaggeration, or manipulation of facts to present an untrue picture of the targeted person.
Dream Killers: Igniting the Passion to Overcome Your Obstacles and Mistakes 7. Character AssassinationWhen it comes to character assassination, the individuals targeted may suffer rejection by their community, family, or members of their sphere of influence. It damages their reputation and may last a lifetime. Such acts are difficult to reverse or rectify, and in some cases, they tarnish their name even after death. Character assassination is not just an attempt to destroy you; it is also an attempt to destroy your dream.
Dream Killers: Igniting the Passion to Overcome Your Obstacles and Mistakes 7. Character AssassinationJoseph was guilty of one thing: being a dreamer. His brothers hated him and his words. They envied the fact that their father loved him. How was it Joseph’s fault that he was the youngest son? His coat wasn’t his idea; it was a gift from his father. If the brothers had issues with anyone, it should have been with their father and not with Joseph.
They despised and detested Joseph’s ability to dream. Their jealousy, insecurity, and failure to recognize God’s favor caused them to fall into the trap of character assassination. It is one thing to be talked about, hated, and verbally mauled by outsiders, but when it is your own church family, it cuts deep.
Dream Killers: Igniting the Passion to Overcome Your Obstacles and Mistakes 7. Character AssassinationReuben and Judah were leaders among their siblings, but even they developed a malicious attitude toward Joseph. It is amazing what happens when a group speaks negatively. Those who are stronger become weak. Instead of standing up for Joseph in their leadership roles, they completely lost regard for their younger brother.
Have you ever found yourself in a Situation that people felt comfortable assassinating someones character in front of you? What would you do?Would you remain in that Room?Would you return next week for the same Strife?Just remember what you hear them say about others in front of you, is simaular to what they say about you when your absent.Dream Killers: Igniting the Passion to Overcome Your Obstacles and Mistakes 7. Character AssassinationHateful words cause you to devalue someone. You no longer consider them worthy of normal status. The more you speak evil, the more likely you will become desensitized. The conversation turns from, “That person is an idiot,” to “I’ll tell you what I’d like to do to them.”
Dream Killers: Igniting the Passion to Overcome Your Obstacles and Mistakes 7. Character AssassinationJoseph’s dream had no significance to his brothers because they had devalued Joseph. How could they appreciate his dream when they didn’t even appreciate him? They threw him in the pit to die, but when a band of merchants came by, they saw an opportunity to remove themselves from guilt and pass the buck
Genesis 37:28 KJV 28 Then there passed by Midianites merchantmen; and they drew and lifted up Joseph out of the pit, and sold Joseph to the Ishmeelites for twenty pieces of silver: and they brought Joseph into Egypt.Dream Killers: Igniting the Passion to Overcome Your Obstacles and Mistakes 7. Character AssassinationNow this amazes me. The Bible says they sold Joseph for twenty pieces of silver. It is commonly thought that in the patriarchal days a piece of silver represented the value of a shekel in Jesus’s day. In a 2003 article, a shekel was equivalent to 64 cents .1 Twenty shekels, valued at 64 cents, equals $12.80.
They placed a $12.80 value on their own brother. That amount was pure poverty even in that day.
Apostle Jousha Sellman always its not who hates you that matters it who Loves you..Dream Killers: Igniting the Passion to Overcome Your Obstacles and Mistakes 7. Character AssassinationThey didn’t sell Joseph for money. His coat of many colors was probably worth thousands of dollars. When they sold Joseph for such a low price, it had a purpose:
Dream Killers: Igniting the Passion to Overcome Your Obstacles and Mistakes 7. Character AssassinationStrife Will Make You or Break You
It’s Covenant KryptoniteGenesis 37:28 NLT 28 So when the Ishmaelites, who were Midianite traders, came by, Joseph’s brothers pulled him out of the cistern and sold him to them for twenty pieces of silver. And the traders took him to Egypt.Dream Killers: Igniting the Passion to Overcome Your Obstacles and Mistakes 7. Character AssassinationThe word Midianite is just another word for Ishmaelite. It means “contention or strife.”3 Think of it—this is powerful—it was strife that helped Joseph out of the pit. Sometimes you will not get out of the pit until some strife shows up.
Strife means “opposition, agitation, and anger.” Strife will have one of two effects on you: it will make you, or it will break you. It is essential that you understand that strife is the very thing that will be the test of your character. The problem with many is they have the tendency to remain in their pit, burdened down by strife, instead of allowing the strife to build character and shut the mouth of the naysayers and character assassins.
Two things You Should always consider when your character is under attackTruth PrevailsIsaiah 54:17 KJV 17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.3rd Point: I Think I’d better Let Lot Go!Genesis 12:1–4 KJV 1 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: 2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: 3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. 4 So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran. The Covenant Promise given to Abram was for him and his wife. But Lot went with him. Some of us make it hard for God to bless us because we don’t do well with listening and paying attention.Genesis 13:2–7 KJV 2 And Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold. 7 And there was a strife between the herdmen of Abram’s cattle and the herdmen of Lot’s cattle: and the Canaanite and the Perizzite dwelled then in the land.Lot came with Abram and obtained great wealth, So the favor of God spilled on Lot because he was under the beard of Abram….Lot’s responsibility was to make sure his people stayed in line, honored his uncle and the people who was under him.Strife produces the spirit of entitlement:entitled people have amnesiaBro you was eating government goat cheese before Ab allowed you to come with him, all you have is because of his favor not yours. It’s like someone paying your rent, and then you invite someone else over for a lobster dinner. Stunting/ And they begin talking about the same person who payed your bills..Genesis 13:8 KJV 8 And Abram said unto Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdmen and thy herdmen; for we be brethren.entitled people have amnesia but covenant folks have a good memory..Ab is like bro, I don’t need this strife in my LifeSo you go!Genesis 13:10 KJV 10 And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered every where, before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, even as the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt, as thou comest unto Zoar.Genesis 13:12–13 KJV 12 Abram dwelled in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelled in the cities of the plain, and pitched his tent toward Sodom. 13 But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly.Lot needed an advantage because he didn’t have Covenant, So he pitched his tent towards Sin. It was green and well watered.Abram walked Grace, Faith & Favor so whatever job he got, he would excel. Whatever he stocks he invested in he would see a profit, where ever he choose to Go, God was with himAnybody walk in that favor?I had a young man send me a video a few months ago:The Lot’s like to live off others, they don’t have the capacity to want to Worship and Serve God just because its always when they in trouble..Everywhere Abram went the first thing he did was build an alter…..Genesis 13:14–17 KJV 14 And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward: 15 For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever. 16 And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered. 17 Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it unto thee.As soon as Lot Left, Lift up now thine eyes You think God is blessing you now, what until you get rid of your Lot.. Everybody can’t go to where God wants to take you..And Strife Is a indicator:Whats your dominate Spirt that guides you daily?Once Lot departed, he found himself caught up in a war. (Strife)Ab took 318 trained servants and rescued him. After Lot was rescued Abram paid his tithes, LOT returned to Sodom (sinful city)I believe the Reason Lot was ok with the Strife that was happening with His uncle was because of Jealousy, he had the same amount people, he had lots of money and his wife was able to have babies. So in the naked eye he had more than Abram. But he was still Jealous.Let me help you, as the Lord advances you in this culture when others are struggling its because the Covenant The Lord is keeping with you. But there will people you love, respect admire that will look at the favor and hate or become jealous of you. And no matter what you do for them they will never honor you. Why.. StrifeNow did Abram have more strife outside of Lot yes, and it was for the same reason. He listened to His wife suggestion and instead of honoring his God Covenant. Most of us can be honest and say its when i do it my way and Not Gods way is when things go bad.
