- Roots
Luke 19:13 KJV And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.Jesus instructed His servants to “occupy till I come,” (Luke 19:11–27) a command that establishes the framework for how believers should live during the interval between His ascension and return.Rather than calling for passive waiting, this phrase summons followers into active, faithful, and purposeful engagement with the world until His return. The parable of the ten minas illustrates this principle through a nobleman who entrusts resources to servants and instructs them to conduct business until his return, with the Greek term for “occupy” conveying the idea of actively investing and managing responsibilities.Believers are to use what Christ has given them until He returns, with “occupy” denoting diligent action rooted in movement and continuous labor. The contemporary challenge involves resisting both cultural retreat and compromise—instead, occupying means standing firm, advancing God’s kingdom, and faithfully stewarding all entrusted resources. This engagement extends across business, education, the arts, government, and domestic life, where believers bring God’s presence into real spaces as His representatives. The parable’s outcomes reinforce accountability:servants who multiplied their resources received commendation and expanded authority, (Luke 19:11–27) while the servant who buried his portion faced judgment for failing to invest it productively.(Luke 19:11–27) This structure demonstrates that occupying involves both faithful stewardship and productive engagement with the gifts and opportunities God provides.**Additional biblical passages** reinforce this posture of active readiness. Believers must watch and remain ready, for the Son of Man comes at an unexpected hour.Rather than spiritual lethargy, the expectation of Christ’s return calls for vigilance and sobriety, putting on faith and love as spiritual armor.Matthew 24:42–51 TPT 42 This is why you must stay alert: because no one knows the day your Lord will come. 43 “But realize this: If a homeowner had known what time of night the burglar would come to rob his house, he would have been alert and ready, and not let his house be robbed. 44 So always be ready, alert, and prepared, because at an hour when you’re not expecting him, the Son of Man will come.” 45 “Who is the one qualified to oversee the master’s house? He will be a reliable servant who is wise and faithful, one he can depend on. The master will want to give him the responsibility of overseeing others in his house, for his servant will lead them well and give them food at the right time. 46 What joy and blessing will come to that faithful servant when the master comes home to find him serving with excellence! 47 I can promise you, the master will raise him up and put him in charge of all that he owns. 48 “But the evil servant says in his heart, ‘My master delays his coming, and who knows when he will return?’ And because of the delay, the servant mistreats those in his master’s household. Instead of caring for the ones he was appointed to serve, 49 he abuses the other servants and gives himself over to eating and drinking with drunkards. 50 Let me tell you what will happen to him. His master will suddenly return at a time that surprises him, and he will remove the abusive, selfish servant from his position of trust. 51 And the master will cut him in two and assign him to the place of great sorrow and anguish along with all the other pretenders and unbelievers.”(1 Thess 5:1–11) Paul exhorts believers to remain steadfast and unmovable, always abounding in the Lord’s work, knowingtheir labor holds eternal significance. (1 Cor 15:58)Ask someone two rows away from you, Whats Your Occupation?Luke 10:2 “ Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.”The harvest is in a Field…When You meet professional people or if your apply for certain things the question will be asked. Created to Represent the King •Genesis 1:26 – “Let them have dominion…” Humanity’s original mandate was representation of God’s rule on earth.Matthew 5:14–16 KJV 14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. 15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.Believers are light — not a subculture, but a representation of the KingdomThe Church gathers, but the Kingdom sends. We are dispatched ones sent into our work force, Homes, Communites too represent the Kingdom Of GodBeing part of Kingdom Embassy means: You didn’t just join a ministry — you enter into representation of the King. This Is Why ambassadors communicate with the kings Language, and it’s not just speaking in tounges it’s Prayer.. (without a prayer life)It’s like having a phone with no cell or wifi servicePaul encourages believers to “pray without ceasing,” Establishing prayer as a continuous spiritual discipline rather than an occasional practice.1 Thessalonians 5:16–18 KJV 16 Rejoice evermore. 17 Pray without ceasing. 18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.Jesus teaches through parable that people “ought always to pray, and not to faint,” (Luke 18:1) emphasizing both persistence and endurance in prayer despite discouragement.Believers are instructed to bring their anxieties to God through prayer and supplication, making their requests known with thanksgiving, (Phil 4:6–7) positioning prayer as the antidote to worry and fear. The apostles reinforce this call across multiple epistles. Romans exhorts believers to remain “continuing instant in prayer” (Rom 12:12) even during trials, while Colossians similarly urges Christians to “continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving.”Declare this! I amdispatched to represent“If we can’t pray, we can’t represent” It's through prayer we receive our marching orders2️⃣RECONCILE —“Restoring people back to God’s government.”The Church often focuses on membership; The Kingdom focuses on reconciliation. The Ministry of Reconciliation2 Corinthians 5:18–19 TPT And God has made all things new, and reconciled us to himself, and given us the ministry of reconciling others to God. In other words, it was through the Anointed One that God was shepherding the world, not even keeping records of their transgressions, and he has entrusted to us the ministry of opening the door of reconciliation to God.Believers are entrusted with “the ministry of reconciliation.” Not just saving souls — restoring people to the King and His Kingdom order.Jesus’ Kingdom Mission• Luke 4:18 – “He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted…to set at liberty…”Liberation is reconciliation: restoring identity, purpose, and relationship.I want to talk to that church member that’s not walking in liberty.Kingdom Insight “Church” tends to reconcile people to an institution.Kingdom reconciles people to the King, His family, and His culture.Romans 5:10 KJV For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.I’ve heard leaders say how at times they hated church, church people and anything that was related to church. That sounds like someone who has never been reconciled with Christ.With-Out The Ministry of Reconciliation you can’t be an AmbassadorUse Illustration:GOD--You- SinnerGOD-Sinner-YouNotice the divine sequence Paul lays out:God reconciles us (v.18a), then gives us the ministry of reconciliation (v.18b), commits to us the word of reconciliation (v.19), and only THEN declares —"Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ" (v.20). The ministry comes before the title. Here are three points:Point 1: The Ministry of Reconciliation Gives You the Message That Qualifies the AmbassadorAn ambassador without a message is not an ambassador — he is an imposter. Verse 19 says God "has committed to us the word of reconciliation" (Greek: logos tēs kat-al-lagēs).The word "committed" (NASB footnote: "placed in us") means God deposited something into you. That deposit is the message. In the Greco-Roman world, the ambassador (Greek: presbeuo) carried the official diplomata — the authorized decree of the sovereign who sent him. Without that decree, no envoy could speak on behalf of the king. According to Precept Austin, katal-lagē is used exclusively of God's act in Christ that removes hostility and re-establishes covenant fellowship. That is the decree you carry.Without the ministry of reconciliation, you have no word, no message, and no mandate. You may have a platform, but you have no diplomacy. The ministry gives you the content that qualifies the role.Point 2: The Ministry of Reconciliation Establishes the Authority Behind the AmbassadorVerse 18 says, "All things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ." The ministry originates with God, not with man. This is critical. An ambassador does not self-appoint — he is commissioned by a sovereign.Rick Renner's study on presbeuo explains that in the ancient world, the ambassador was "sent forth and temporarily stationed" as a fully authorized representative, "fully backed up by all the power and resources" of the government that sent him. To reject the envoy was to reject the sender. The ministry of reconciliation is the commission itself. It is your letter of appointment.Without it, you have no authorization from the Kingdom. You might call yourself an ambassador, but Heaven has not endorsed you. The ministry is what connects your voice to God's throne — it is the authority that makes the ambassador legitimate.Point 3: The Ministry of Reconciliation Transforms You Before It Sends You — You Must Be Reconciled to ReconcileLook again at the order in verse18: God "reconciled US to Himself" first, and then "gave us the ministry of reconciliation."Ligonier Ministries notes that "we have been reconciled to God and therefore we are ambassadors for Christ." The word therefore is everything. You cannot represent a peace you have not experienced. You cannot announce reconciliation if you are still at enmity with God.(Deep-rooted hatred. “I will put enmity between thee and the woman, between thy seed and her seed”. The friendship of the world is “enmity with God”. The “carnal mind” is “enmity against God”.)The ministry of reconciliation first does a work IN you (changing your status from enemy to son) before it does a work THROUGH you (sending you as an envoy). As GotQuestions.org puts it, "our lives need to reflect our message."Without the ministry of reconciliation, you have not been changed. And an unchanged person cannot be an ambassador — because the ambassador IS the proof of the message. You are the evidence that reconciliation works. Your life is Exhibit A.I. - The Message: The ministry gives you the authorized word to carry.V. 19 committed to us the word of reconciliation"II.The Authority: The ministry is your divine commission from the Sovereignv.18 — "all things are of God...and has given us"III. The Transformation: The ministry changes you first, then sends youv.18 "reconciled US...then gave us the ministry"No ministry, no message. No ministry, no authority. No ministry, no transformation. And without all three — there is no ambassador.3️⃣ RULE — “Not domination, but delegated authority.”This is the part many churches avoid, but in the Kingdom, ruling is part of our original design and Great Commission.Scriptural Foundations1 Timothy 3:1–5 KJV 1 This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work. 2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach; 3 Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous; 4 One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity; 5 (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)The Original Dominion MandateGenesis 1:28 – “Be fruitful…have dominion.”Not over people, but over the earth, systems, and assignments. In Scripture the idea of dominion is mainly expressed by key Hebrew and Greek words that point to ruling, authority, and stewardship rather than selfish control.Hebrew: “Radah” and related wordsThe primary Hebrew term often translated “have dominion” is רָדָה (radah). It means to rule, to have dominion, to reign, to tread down, or to subjugate. In Genesis 1:26–28,radah describes humanity’s God-given royal responsibility to rule over creation as God’s representative, exercising authority that reflects His character and care, not exploitation.A related word in the same context is כָּבַשׁ (kabash, “subdue”), which emphasizes bringing disorder or resistance under control, taming chaos rather than abusing what God madeGreek: “Exousia” and dominionThe main Greek term tied to the concept of dominion is ἐξουσία (exousia), frequently translated “authority,” “power,” “right,” or “jurisdiction.”Exousia carries the sense of the legal right and ability to act, the delegated authority to rule over a realm or sphere; in the New Testament it often describes Christ’s authority and the authority He grants to His people.in biblical Hebrew and Greek, “dominion” means entrusted rulership or delegated authority under God—ruling as a steward-king in God’s image, not as a tyrant pursuing personal gain.Jesus Restores Kingdom RuleLuke 10:19 – Jesus gives authority over the enemy’s power.Matthew 28:18‑20 – The Great Commission begins with “All authority has been given to Me…”And then He delegates that authority to us.Reigning in LifeRomans 5:17 – Believers “reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.”Ruling = stewardship + influence under God’s authority.Kingdom InsightChurch gives people comfort. The Kingdom gives citizens authority. We rule by:living out Kingdom cultureexercising spiritual authoritymanifesting God’s will on earthstewarding our gifts and assignment🔥 SUMMARYCommission = No ExileWe were not saved to escape earth — we are saved to represent Heaven in earthThe 3 R’s1. REPRESENT – We are ambassadors showing the world what the King is like.2. RECONCILE – We bring people back into alignment with the King and His Kingdom.3.
