    How did they know it was God’s word and not His own?

    Paul connected to their weakness

    Paul said that before the law

    19 Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. 20 Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
    The purpose of the Law

    ++Is not to redeem us
    ++Is not to make us right
    ++Tells us how bad we need a savior
    This is the message of the Gospel

    17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

    ++To live responsibly
    ++To be like Him
    We are commanded to be Holy by
