    Practical Faith 7
    Managing your Mist or Vapor
We are in the middle of a series entitled Practical Faith
Most scholars believe that this letter was written by James our Lords younger brother.
the theme of the book of James is Grow up
    A practical book
Pointing out that genuine faith, produces fruit.
We are at the end of  James 4
    Managing your mist
What is the most important thing in your life?
How would you answer this question?
The top answers for this question was relationships, health and purpose.
     Let’s pray
1 What is the most important thing in your life?
Jas 4:13 Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit”—
Sounds like a good business plan
Jas 4:14 yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.
James is just pointing out to a reality that we often forget, we are just a mist, we are here today but we have no idea about the next hour or tomorrow.
We can not guarantee anything, James is reminding us, to always have a contingency plan.
We are good in making plans, some of us better than others, some are more organized, detailed, and some are better problem solvers but at the end is the Lord who has the final word, and directs our steps.
Pro 20:24 A man's steps are from the LORD; how then can man understand his way?
Pro 16:9 The heart of man plans his way, but the LORD establishes his steps.
Is not wrong to make plans, just make sure God is right in the center of it, that you are hearing from Him and putting him first.
Mat 6:31 Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’
    Food, water, clothing.
Mat 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
Mat 6:34 “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
Don’t be caught without a plan,
make sure you know exactly where you are going when your number is called up in Heaven.
I remember on my first year here at Mokuaikaua, 2 days after Christmas this man came by the office to see me, I immediately recognize  him, it was my neighbor,  he lived in the same road of Kalahikiola, my old church, I would stop often and talk to him, he never came to church but would help us with plumbing when we need it.
We Had just returned from Switzerland, had been 6 and half years since the last time I saw him.
He was very distressed, he told me that Christmas eve he and his wife went to bed together and the next morning Christmas day he woke up and his wife didn’t, he said we loved each other but we never talked about God, death or a future without each other, you are the only minister I know so I was looking for you and found out that you were here in Kona, can you please help me?
Yes I helped him with a memorial for his wife and led him to Jesus.
Answer this question “what is the most important thing to you?” and include Jesus in this process be ready to submit all to Him. Is all about giving Him glory.
    Let’s go back to James
2 Let God direct your plans
Jas 4:15 Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.”
Jas 4:16 As it is, you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil.
So what is the difference between boasting in your arrogance, in your pride
Boasting excessively proud and self-satisfied talk about one's achievements, possessions, or abilities
And being confident in your ambitions?
There is a fine line, If my life, my plans are designed to please me and my desires, my fleshly desires, is sinful and evil. That’s how we end up in addictions and bondage, we need to learn how to live a life that is pleasing to God. Yes takes courage and trust, because God becomes the one in charge.
A Christian, is someone who has surrendered their lives to Christ, like James, he introduced himself as a bond servant of Jesus Christ,
James was Jesus younger brother, I would add that to my resume, he gave up all his rights, his whole life to follow Jesus, and we Christians, are to do the same way.
How is arrogance different from a life of ambition and making the most of your time?
Arrogance the quality of having an exaggerated sense of one's own importance or abilities.
When we live for ourselves, when we have complete control of our lives, and we are proud of it, that’s arrogance an exaggerated sense of ones’s own importance. Evil.
Ambition if guided by God can be your life pursuit.
a strong desire to do or to achieve something, typically requiring determination and hard work.

When does planning turn into boastful pride? What plans are you making right now?
When is all about me, myself, and I, is boastful pride and it is evil
Again there is Nothing wrong in making plans for your life, just make sure Jesus is the center of every decision you make, our time on earth is short let's please Him
    Paul
Gal 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
Jas 4:17 So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.
Back in 2020/21 the Lord aloud the church  to learn a big lesson, He is Lord.
without any major warning the world was brought to a sudden stop, people could not open their businesses to work, go to their church to worship, construction had to stop they could not walk on the streets, travel anywhere, some got stuck in different countries, many people dying everywhere, you couldn’t even go to the doctors, or have surgeries, the only safe places were the big department stores, here in Kona we had, Safeway, Target, Walmart and Costco you couldn’t get covid there everything else including the beach you had to stay way.
Around the world things were different, everything shut down but by the grace of God we saw families coming together, provision of many things, yes most of us had to cry out to the Lord for our personal finances and the finances of the church.
Many people lost their businesses and livelihood, but we had one thing in common only God could help us and He did. There were many miracles’ people surviving Covid, I was one of them, again thank you for all your prayers, Steve Fouth who just helped us with our sound system, he was in the hospital for more than 150 days.
During Covid many became aware of how weak and vulnerable we are, how much we depend on Him, we are a mist and what really matters in life is our relationship with our Heavenly Father, to listen and to obey him.
We had a clear call to walk in dependence of him and many responded to that call
I had a very strong encounter with the Lord during that time
I end up coming down with covid and my wife drove me to the hospital, I had a double pneumonia and took me a couple of days to realize that this could be it, I was not improving, the medication was not working, no one could even come to say bye.
On the fourth day my son David showed up and they allowed him in because he is a paramedic for the fire department, they did not allow any other visitors at the time. what a great blessing that visit was.
Later the doctor came to let me know that I would be intubated if I would get worse
By now my wife had asked all of our friends church and family to pray for me
That night I received a-text message from a friend in Norway , he said we just finished a time of prayer and worship for you and the Lord ask me to write this song for you, and play this other song over you
I was awake so I played the songs
As I was playing this light filled the room, waves of electricity went up and down my body as I was crying.
When the music stop one thing I was certain off God touched me I was healed.
    6 in the morning,
3 Let God bless you don’t defraud anyone.
Jas 5:1 Come now, you rich, weep and howl for the miseries that are coming upon you.
Jas 5:2 Your riches have rotted and your garments are moth-eaten.
Jas 5:3 Your gold and silver have corroded, and their corrosion will be evidence against you and will eat your flesh like fire. You have laid up treasure in the last days.
James has nothing against the rich, he is calling attention of those who are selfish by defrauding others
Jas 5:4 Behold, the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you kept back by fraud, are crying out against you, and the cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord of hosts.
The Lord is just and faithful, He listen to the cry of his people
Jas 5:5 You have lived on the earth in luxury and in self-indulgence. You have fattened your hearts in a day of slaughter.
Jas 5:6 You have condemned and murdered the righteous person. He does not resist you.
We  are just a mist a vapor, manage your life well
Let Jesus be the center of our lives
Let God bless you don’t defraud anyone
To have a Practical faith, we need to make Jesus the Lord of our lives
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
     Joh 3:16
To receive Jesus, we need to accept Him as God’s son, repent from our sins and a life of selfishness, and ask Him to be your Lord and savior, not that you deserve it, but is a gift from God.
If this is your desire today, please repeat this prayer after me?
     Heavenly Father I’m sinner,
     I’m sorry for my sins,
I’m willing to turn away from my sins.
I receive Christ as my savior,
     I confess him as Lord
from this moment on I want to follow and serve him,
in the fellowship of his church,
     In Jesus name. Amen!
    1Co 11:23 For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread;
1Co 11:24 and when He had given thanks, He broke itand said, "Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me."
1Co 11:25 In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me."
1Co 11:26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death till He comes.
1Co 11:27 Therefore whoever eats this bread or drinks thiscup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.
Heb 9:14 dead works, acts, sins
E mau aku ka loko maika’i o ka Haku, Iesu Kristo; me ke aloha a ke Akua, a me ka launa pu ‘ana mai o ka Uhane Hemolele ia ‘olua, a me makou apau.  Amene.

  • Peace that Holds

This is the second Sunday of advent.
During this time of the year, we prepare ourselves to celebrate the birth of our Lord and savior and to remind ourselves that He is coming again.
The word advent in the Latin means “coming”
Christians around the world use the four Sundays and weeks of Advent to prepare and remember the real meaning of Christmas.
     Peace that Holds
How do we hold on to a deep inner peace?
There are days that I just begin to think about my to do list, and I look at the circumstances around me, and I begin to few anxious. I need God’s peace.
    But scripture says
Php 4:7 And the peace of God [that peace which reassures the heart, that peace] which transcends all understanding, [that peace which] stands guard over your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus [is yours].
I believe God wants to give us His peace today.
    Let’s pray,
    Peace that Holds

    1 Is a promise.

    God promises us peace!
Jer 29:11 For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,' says the LORD, 'plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster to give you a future and a hope.
Your Heavenly Father loves you, and His plans and thoughts for you are good, are for peace and well-being, not for disaster to give you a future and a hope.
Jesus tell us about this peace, that is different than the peace the world gives, and he wants to give to you and me.
Joh 14:27  Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
Shalom in Hebrew, i-rah-nay in Greek
The definition we have for peace is
freedom from disturbance; quiet and tranquility:
    Shalom means
    According to Strong's Concordance 7965
completeness, wholeness, health, peace, welfare, safety soundness, tranquility, prosperity, perfectness, fullness, rest, harmony, the absence of agitation or discord. shalom meaning to be complete, perfect and full.
Peace is not the absence of conflict or war; Shalom is to be in the presence of the prince of peace Jesus and be in peace with Him.
We were created to live and enjoy peace, peace is God’s desire for you and me, the lack of peace leaves our souls in anguish.
We will never find real peace outside of a relationship with Jesus, Jesus has made it possible by taking our place at the cross, and forgiving our sins, even before we acknowledge and repent for them.
Our Heavenly Father is waiting for us, with open arms.
    Just welcome Him
Shalom is the presence of Jesus in our lives, the presence of God in us. Our daily relationship with Christ.
    And He

    2 Is with you

When we follow Jesus, there is no guarantee that storms will not come, and sometimes they surprise us.
I don’t know what kind of storm you are in right now, but I want to remind you that your Heavenly Father knows and He is right here with you.
Some times is a medical report, or a bill we are not expecting, or your medical insurance decides they are not paying for something they should.
Someone picks up an offense that you never intended to be an offense. All of the sudden is a huge problem and is totally out of your ability to fix it.
    Storms will come from nowhere,
If we are honest with ourselves peace is not the first thing that comes to our minds when we look at the circumstances around us,
yes Hawaii is a beautiful place, but has become more dangerous, 44 years ago  when I first came to Hawaii, we left our cars open when we went shopping, we would leave the keys in the ignition, nobody would mess with your car, for many years we didn’t have keys for our house it was always open, the population it was much smaller, I would drive some days from here to Kohala and after passing the airport, I would not see another car,  today we need to be careful, we need to consider where we are going  and what time of the day we will go, back then We would go to the park to play tennis at 8pm.
    Things are different.
Mat 8:23 Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him.
Mat 8:24 Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping.
Mat 8:25 The disciples went and woke him, saying, "Lord, save us! We're going to drown!"
    Jesus was sleeping,
Lord we are going to die. It Must being a pretty impressive storm, because these guys were fisherman, they were used to the weather changing rapidly around that area.
When we are caught in the middle of a storm, sometimes feels like Jesus is sleeping, seems like He is totally unaware that we are about to go under.
But He is right here with us
Mat 8:26 He said to them, "Why are you afraid, you men of little faith?" Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was [at once] a great and wonderful calm [a perfect peacefulness].
Jesus asked them, why are you afraid, you men of little faith?
    Why are you afraid?
What do you think of Jesus? How do you see Him?
All powerful? or just an observer?
He rebuked the winds and the sea, if the disciples new who was in the boat with them, they would know that all was well, Jesus was in the boat.
Remember when you follow your master into the boat, He is right there with you, and all His power.
The disciples could have rebuked the winds and the sea, but their little faith kept their eyes on the storm, not on Jesus.
Mat 8:27 The men wondered in amazement, saying, "What kind of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?"
He is Jesus the Prince of Peace

just remember the boat you are in, and who you are following. Storms will not take you down.
When Jesus was teaching the sermon on the Mount, he ended saying this.
Mat 7:24 "Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.
Mat 7:25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.
Mat 7:26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand.
Mat 7:27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash."
Storms will come, is not an if, All of us will face storms during our lifetime, but if our lives are built on the rock, Jesus, and we are listening to Him, we will not be destroyed.
    His Peace

3 Will come when you call on Him.

Jer 29:12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.

Jer 29:13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
    Welcome Jesus daily
Make Him part of your Day
If we seek Him with all our hearts, we will find Him. When we call on Him and pray, He will listen to us.
Just a couple weeks ago we were celebrating 205 years of God’s faithfulness, the arrival of the gospel and rededicating our sanctuary that we were working in preserving since 2013.
There were many battles in this journey, spiritual, financial, physical, and emotional.
All very real, some were aiming to discourage , others to stop the project, an open church proclaiming the good news is a treat to the enemy .
Some of the storms we experience are part of the daily battle we are in, others are only to expose the condition of our hearts.
Ignoring or avoiding a problem will not work, only will make it bigger, wishing that a problem or storm will go way is only a desire, having positive thoughts may help you momentarily, as soon as the fantasy fades you are back with your problem.
Seek Him with all your heart, He is faithful, and His word is true, pray.
Psa 23:4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
Psa 23:5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
Psa 23:6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
Your loving Father is with you, He prepares a table, he sets a table to welcome you in His presence, to nourish you and to fellowship with you, in the presence of your enemies, in the middle of a storm , He will minister to you, anoints your head with oil, empowers you with His Holy Spirit, satisfy your soul and spirit, your cup overflows, his abundant blessings and grace.
It doesn’t matter what kind of storm you are walking through. He Is with you call on him.
    John 15:4-9
4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.
5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.
6 If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.
7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you[a] will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.
8 By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.
    Love and Joy Perfected
9 “As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love. 10 If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.
    His peace
    Is a promise He made.
He is with you and Will calm the storm.
when you call on Him, His amazing peace will be there.
Are you praying for God to fill your heart with His Peace today?
make Jesus the Lord of our lives.
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. Joh 3:16 To receive Jesus we need to accept Him as God’s son,
we need to repent from our sins and a life of selfishness,
ask Him to be your Lord and savior, not that we deserve it, but is a gift from God.
If this is your desire today, please repeat this prayer after me?
Heavenly Father I’m sinner, I’m sorry for my sins, I repent of my sins I’m willing to turn away from my sins. I receive Christ as my savior, I confess Him as Lord And from this moment on, I want to follow and serve Him, in the fellowship of His church, In Jesus name, Amen!

  • Joy That Rises

    Joy that Rises
This is the third Sunday of advent.
During this time of the year, we are preparing ourselves to celebrate the birth of our Lord and savior, and to remind ourselves that He is coming again.
The word advent in the Latin means “coming”
Christians around the world use the four Sundays and weeks of Advent to prepare and remember the real meaning of Christmas.
Luk 1:39 In those days Mary arose and went with haste into the hill country, to a town in Judah,
Luk 1:40 and she entered the house of Zechariah and greeted Elizabeth.
Luk 1:41 And when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the baby leaped in her womb. And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit,
Luk 1:42 and she exclaimed with a loud cry, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb!
Luk 1:43 And why is this granted to me that the mother of my Lord should come to me?
Luk 1:44 For behold, when the sound of your greeting came to my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy.
Luk 1:45 And blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment of what was spoken to her from the Lord.”
    Mary responds with a song
Mary's Song of Praise: The Magnificat
Luk 1:46 And Mary said, “My soul magnifies the Lord,
Luk 1:47 and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
    Luk 1:48 for he has looked on the humble estate of his servant. For behold, from now on all generations will call me blessed;
Luk 1:49 for he who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is his name.
Luk 1:50 And his mercy is for those who fear him from generation to generation.
    Luk 1:51 He has shown strength with his arm; he has scattered the proud in the thoughts of their hearts;
    Luk 1:52 he has brought down the mighty from their thrones and exalted those of humble estate;
Luk 1:53 he has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich he has sent away empty.
Luk 1:54 He has helped his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy,
Luk 1:55 as he spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and to his offspring forever.”
Luk 1:56 And Mary remained with her about three months and returned to her home.
Mary believed on what God said, and he filled her with Joy.
Lets talk this morning about this deep Joy the rises in us, when we see God’s promises fulfilled, or when we find ourselves in the presence God.
King David prophetically wrote about the coming Messiah, Jesus,

Psa 16:11 You will show me the path of life; In Your presence isfullness of joy; At Your right hand arepleasures forevermore.
Jesus offers this same relationship to us.
    Joy is defined
a : the emotion evoked by well-being, success, or good fortune. Getting what we want. delight,
The Joy (Chara) take us much deeper, we go from experiencing moments of joy, to fulness (satisfying) joy. A joy that only God can give us.
    We are created for Joy.
Joy is about a life filled with excitement and passion, a satisfying life.
God’s desire is that we will enter in the fullness of his joy.
Three things we need to keep in mind. If we want to move from momentary happiness to this supernatural Joy that rises.
1 He will show us the way, 2 Joy comes by being in His presence, 3 At His right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
    Let’s pray

1 He will show us the way

    Jesus said
Joh 15:10 If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love.
Joh 15:11 These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.
Joh 15:12 “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.
Joh 15:13 Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.
“Joy or chara is a deep and abiding inner rejoicing which was promised to those who abide in Christ and obey his commandments. It does not depend on circumstances because it rests in God’s sovereign control of all things.”
Joy is the outcome of our obedience
Ti 3:1 But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty.
2Ti 3:2 For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy,
2Ti 3:3 heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good,
2Ti 3:4 treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,
We are in the last days, people are lover of themselves lovers of money, ungrateful and arrogant, no generation before us were so entitled, and have so many rights.
2Ti 4:3 For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions,
2Ti 4:4 and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.
Today when people listen to a teaching that is not pleasing to them teaching that does not accommodate their sin, they just change churches, they can always find a PHD who will support them in their sin, if you want to hear that is ok to keep your money and spend all on yourself, someone will teach you that, if you want to abort your child you will find someone who will tell you that this is ok, you want to marry people of the same sex, you can find a pastor and a church that will teach you that.
These are things that those who allow themselves to be deceive are doing as for you men and women of God do what you know is right.
2Ti 3:14 But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it
2Ti 3:15 and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.
You men and women of God hold on to what is true, to the teachings and commandments of Jesus.
we will have fulness of joy, when you obey Jesus and his commandments. Let Him show you the path.

2 Joy comes when we are in His presence.

1Pe 1:8 Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory,

1Pe 1:9 obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
Faith is what brings me into the reality of God’s presence
God is everywhere, he is not everything, His desire is to have a relationship with us, that’s why he sent His only Son Jesus to receive the punishment that you and me deserve.
When by faith I welcome His word, His reality, then I know without a doubt in my heart that God is present with me everywhere I go.
Jesus is our example, of a man walking in a close relationship with God, the same relationship He prayed that we would have with Him and the Father.
Joh 14:11 Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me, or else believe on account of the works themselves.
The Holy Spirit, the one who is in perfect communion with Jesus and the Father, is the one who dwells in us, when we welcome Him, when we ask for Him.
The Holy Spirit of God is the one that will take us right into his presence, and yes he is holy, so we need to walk in holiness, and be careful to not grieve Him.
So Wherever you do, Always have him in mind,

    3 Pleasures for ever more

Psa 16:11 You will show me the path of life; In Your presence isfullness of joy; At Your right hand arepleasures forevermore.
At His right hand there are Pleasures for evermore,
I believe our Heavenly Father is always looking for ways to bless us, to shower us with good and sweet things.
Has the Lord being good to you?
I believe He has, all you need to do is to acknowledge, what He does for you.
For just one moment think about one thing God did for you in 2025
He provided for me and my family, he gave us health, he gave me many good things throughout the year.
For our church, we finished 6 years of preservation, and are debit free, we went from a endangered building to a solid construction
He answered my prayers, delivered from my enemies, blessed me with a house to live a car or two to drive, food to eat.
If you are breathing the lord has being good to you.
Pleasures for evermore, we have a good, good, Father who loves us.
Don’t take things for granted, be grateful
Luk 17:11 On the way to Jerusalem he was passing along between Samaria and Galilee.
Luk 17:12 And as he entered a village, he was met by ten lepers, who stood at a distance
Luk 17:13 and lifted up their voices, saying, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.”
Luk 17:14 When he saw them he said to them, “Go and show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went they were cleansed.
    Luk 17:15 Then one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, praising God with a loud voice;
Luk 17:16 and he fell on his face at Jesus' feet, giving him thanks. Now he was a Samaritan.
Luk 17:17 Then Jesus answered, “Were not ten cleansed? Where are the nine?
Luk 17:18 Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?”
Luk 17:19 And he said to him, “Rise and go your way; your faith has made you well.”
This is the story of one thankful leper
There was no cure for Leprosy in the first century AD,
Effective treatment for leprosy appeared in the late 1930s. If you had leprosy you had to be removed to a colony of lepers. It was a horrible disease, an infectious skin disease, which would attack your nose mouth and eyes, soft tissue and nerves first, what, will cause some paralysis and deformities, in more advance stages would affect your bones. Until you finally die.
Jesus miraculously heals 10 lepers, a good thing from God to them.
Jesus made a point about the only man who returns to thank Him, because by being thankful, he acknowledged the giver and the gift.
Luk 2:8 And in the same region there were shepherds out in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
Luk 2:9 And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with great fear.
Luk 2:10 And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.
Luk 2:11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
Luk 2:12 And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.”
Luk 2:13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying,
Luk 2:14 “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!”
To Receive this Joy that rises, we need to make Jesus the Lord of our lives.
Have you ask Jesus to be your lord and Savior?
If not I want to give you the opportunity.
     Heavenly Father I’m a sinner,
     I’m sorry for my sins,
I’m willing to turn away from my sins.
I receive Christ as my savior,
     I confess him as Lord
from this moment on I want to follow and serve him,
in the fellowship of his church,
     In Jesus name. Amen!
    Amen!
    1Co 11:23 For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread;
Amene.
