Practical application today - is Christian (Church of Christ)Not talking about the world - already said that there will be few.Not here to save the world. You don’t happen upon it one day unawares.Humility based on a Biblical worldview is a chosen state of mind and practice.Colossians 3:11–12 ESV Here there is not Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave, free; but Christ is all, and in all. The Pharisee, standing by himself, prayed thus: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I get.’ But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, a sinner!’Luke 18:14 ESV I tell you, this man went down to his house justified, rather than the other. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.”Seeking God Without HumilityTrying to make your self-interests God’s mandatesSeeking God without humility is seeking justification for what YOU want, think and desire.
