        CHURCH POTLUCK

        September 29, 2019 - 12:00 PM - 12:00 PM
Join us for Food, Fun, and Fellowship
  • 1 Corinthians 11:17–19 ESV
But in the following instructions I do not commend you, because when you come together it is not for the better but for the worse. For, in the first place, when you come together as a church, I hear that there are divisions among you. And I believe it in part, for there must be factions among you in order that those who are genuine among you may be recognized.

Sharing in the fellowship of God’s love

    1 John 4:10–12 ESV
In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us.

And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need.
See also Dt 10:18–19 God’s people are to reflect his concern for the needy in society; Mt 25:35–36; Lk 3:11; Ac 4:32–35; 2 Co 8:13–15; 1 Ti 6:17–18; Jas 1:27; Jas 2:15–16

Strengthening one another in fellowship together

    Bearing with the weak

    Galatians 6:1–2 ESV
Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted. Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

    Encouraging one another

    Hebrews 10:24–25 ESV
