PLEASE KEEP MIDGE TIMMER in your prayers. This past week she moved to Avalon Healthcare in Bellingham where she was placed in Hospice care. Pray for the comfort and peace of God to be present with Midge and her family during this time. They request no visitors.
WE EXTEND OUR CHRISTIAN SYMPATHY to Pastor John Van Schepen and his family as Willie passed away peacefully on Thursday surrounded by her loved ones. If you wish to send a sympathy card the address is in the printed bulletin.
PETER FISH: It is once again the time of year when we hope for a record catch! Deacons will pass out the Peter Fish after today’s service. A guide for prayer and giving is in your church mailbox today and all ages are encouraged to participate. Please return your fish next week, November 10. Thanks to Elaine for writing the giving guide.
CADETS SKATING PARTY will be tomorrow, November 4 from 6:30-8:30 pm at Lynden Skateway. Please drop off and pick up your Cadet at the skating rink as no one will be at First CRC. The cost is $5.50 with your own skates or $8.50 to rent skates. Please do not wear your Cadet shirt. All family members are welcome. This is a fundraiser for the Northwest Cadet Council.
CADETS SELLING POINSETTIAS: Our Bethel Cadets are selling poinsettias. Proceeds from the sale will help fund supplies, shirts, activities and the Sumas Camp each summer. If you wish to purchase a poinsettia, please contact one of our Cadets: Alex Brewster, Gus, Cy and Cord De Jong, Isaac and Josiah Dick and Bradley Hiemstra. The deadline for orders is November 18.
SUNDAY SCHOOL classes will not meet next week, November 10. We look forward to seeing everyone back on the 17th!
BETHEL VAN DRIVER NEEDED: After many years of driving the Bethel van, John and Jane Schouten are retiring from this worthwhile service for our senior citizens. Thanks to them for their years of dedication! If you feel led to help with this ministry, please talk to Jerry Meenderinck, Dick Drost or Doug Van Andel.
VOLUNTEER SCHEDULES: Sherry will soon be making the 2025 Sunday volunteer schedules. If you prefer to not be on a list or want to add your name to a list, please email her at: office@bethelcrc.org.
THANK YOU: We would like to thank the congregation for the kind words, cards and gifts this past Sunday for staff appreciation. It is a joy to serve Jesus Christ and Bethel CRC through our work. We all continue to praise God for how we see his Spirit moving in our community of faith. We pray that our Lord will continue to use our church for his glory in the coming year.
