PLEASE KEEP Stan De Vries in your prayers as he continues recovering at CHCC following surgery for a broken leg. Please pray for his pain to subside and his balance to improve.
WE GIVE THANKS that Dorothy Van Dyke’s back surgery went well on Thursday. Continue to keep her in your prayers as she recovers.
WE EXTEND OUR CHRISTIAN SYMPATHY to Marv and Karen Apol in the passing of his sister, Ruth, in Michigan.
POTLUCK IN BASEMENT: If you are visiting Bethel, you are welcome to join us for a potluck hosted by care group #4 in the basement following this morning’s service.
MEN’S RETREAT: All those planning on attending the men’s retreat this week Friday evening and Saturday at New Life CRC in Abbotsford please meet at the front of church after the service this morning to arrange for carpooling.
JOINT SERVICE TONIGHT: Please join other CRC congregations at First CRC tonight at 6 pm for a joint Reformation Day worship service. All are welcome as we give God the glory for the great things He has done in our history. The offering will be taken for Project Hope.
FIRST QUARTER FINANCIAL REPORT is in your church mailbox, along with the November-December nursery schedule.
COMMUNION: Next Sunday, November 2, we have the privilege of celebrating the Lord’s supper. All participants are invited to prepare by examining our hearts and lives. In the supper we are given physical reminders of the spiritual truth. Jesus' death was for each one of us personally and for the whole of his church. We examine ourselves so that we may see our need for a savoir, repent, and be assured of the gospel.
NO SUNDAY SCHOOL next week, November 2.
CADET SKATING PARTY: The Cadets will meet at Lynden Skateway Monday, November 3 from 6:30-8:30 pm for their skating party. Cost is $8. Note that we will not meet at First CRC—come directly to the skating rink. Please bring your parents, siblings and friends. Do not wear your Cadet shirt. The skating party is a fundraiser for the Cadet Council.
