WE EXTEND our Christian sympathy to Marv and Karen Apol in the passing of Karen’s brother, Gary Van Loo. May the God of all comfort be with Marv and Karen as they once again mourn the loss of a sibling.
PLEASE REMEMBER Stan and Sharon De Vries in your prayers. Stan returned home this past week and continues his recovery there.
REFORMED ROOTS: This evening, we will look at the resurrection of Jesus. We celebrate Easter every year, but what benefits are there for believers through His resurrection? Is our comfort merely a future hope? All ages are welcome to come and consider what the Bible teaches about the resurrection.
NEW WAY MINISTRIES: Next week's offering will be collected for New Way Ministries, an arm of the Christian Hope Association here in Lynden that serves women and children coming out of addiction and abuse. Currently, 13 families call New Way home, where they find a Christ-inspired housing program that fosters healing and stability that lasts. We encourage your generous giving to New Way.
THANKSGIVING OFFERING: As we look ahead to our Thanksgiving Eve service, it's time to consider how we can share our gifts with others. The deacons have compiled a list of worthwhile Christian causes we believe are furthering Christ's kingdom, and we have provided offering envelopes along with the list of suggested causes in the church mailboxes today. Please prayerfully consider how you can give this Thanksgiving and share generously with those in need.
THANKSGIVING CARD: In your boxes are cards for "A Harvest of Righteousness." Please consider filling out a card with an example of seeing a particular fruit of the Spirit demonstrated in your life (to you, or by you). As we are thankful in seeing the fruit of the earth, we can also find encouragement to persist in our fruitful Christian living! The basket in the library will be for collecting these cards this Sunday and next Sunday. We will incorporate them into our Thanksgiving Eve service.
BLANKET DRIVE: On Sunday, November 30, the deacons will be collecting blankets and quilts for Northwest Hispanic Ministry, serving the needs of Hispanic people in Whatcom and Skagit counties. Under the leadership of Joe Strong and others, the basic needs of Hispanic people are being met and lives are being transformed by the Gospel. Please bring new or clean, gently used bed-sized blankets to the table at the back of church on the 30th for us to bless this ministry.
