PLEASE KEEP Lisa Bosman in your prayers as she will have lymphatic bypass surgery in Seattle tomorrow to hopefully help with the lymphatic drainage in her left leg from her melanoma cancer four years ago.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Wilma Groen who will celebrate her 87th birthday January 6 and to Pastor Peter Mans who will celebrate his 90th birthday January 11!
WE EXTEND our Christian sympathy to Doug and Norene Van Andel in the passing of his brother-in-law, Gord Buys, former member and missionary of Bethel.
COMMUNION: This morning, we celebrate the sacrament of communion.
A PRAYING PEOPLE: We are beginning a short sermon series on the Lord’s Prayer. Prayer is one the central parts of our response of faith and yet most overlooked, misunderstood and forgotten. Using the Heidelberg Catechism we are going to walk through the Lord's prayer line-by-line. My hope is that in this series all our prayer lives should grow in depth, purpose and we will deepen our walk as followers of Jesus.
REFORMED ROOTS: We celebrate Christmas and the arrival of Jesus, we spend weeks looking ahead to the death and resurrection, but the ascension we often forget. Jesus floating off to heaven is the most overlooked major event in his life. Yet in the Apostle's Creed we confess he ascended into heaven. This evening we are going to consider why the ascension should not be forgotten and why it is a benefit to us that Jesus left this earth 2000 years ago.
MEAL TRAIN: We have set up a meal train for Lance & Lisa Bosman. Here is the link https://mealtrain.com/3yww3w
SUNDAY SCHOOL resumes next week, January 11.
