FROM SHADOW TO SUBSTANCE: WHERE HEAVEN MEETS EARTH

For Lent this year we are turning back to the book of Exodus and considering God’s instructions for the tabernacle. This building was designed by God as a place where He could meet His people and dwell in their midst—the first such place since the Garden of Eden and the Fall. The tabernacle functions in several ways: it echoes Eden, it is a shadow of a heavenly reality, and it points ahead to the work and ministry of Jesus and His church. Through this study, I hope we will all come to see the beauty of this part of the Scriptures, how great the work of Christ and His redemption are, and raise our eyes to the heavens in worship.~ Pastor Bryan

FOLLOWING THIS morning’s service, the care community group of Jeff De Jong and David Vos is hosting a potluck in the basement. If you are visiting, you are welcome to join us.

NEXT WEEK we have the privilege of celebrating communion.

CONGREGATIONAL MEETING: At the congregational meeting this past Monday, the motion passed to proceed with the renovations of Fireside Room, library, and upstairs kitchen. Watch for opportunities to contribute financially and with volunteer work in the coming weeks and months. We pray that the project will be successful and that God will be glorified.

ADMIN MEETING HIGHLIGHTS: The Admin team met on February 16.

• We planned for pledge cards and one or more offerings to fund the renovations.

• Motion passed to allow the congregation to take library books and movies as we prepare for the renovations.

• Annual staff evaluations are underway.

• Motion passed to discontinue the Bethel Bridge unless an editor volunteers.

• Motion passed to repaint the Summit House as a SERVE project.

THE MARCH-APRIL NURSERY SCHEDULE is in your church mailbox.

A HEARTFELT THANK YOU to everyone who joined us for the prayer retreat. It was truly encouraging to spend the afternoon in prayer and fellowship together. Stepping into something new is always an adventure, and your openness and participation made it a blessing for us all. ~Pastor Bryan
