FROM SHADOW TO SUBSTANCE: WHERE HEAVEN MEETS EARTH
For Lent this year we are turning back to the book of Exodus and considering God’s instructions for the tabernacle. This building was designed by God as a place where He could meet His people and dwell in their midst—the first such place since the Garden of Eden and the Fall. The tabernacle functions in several ways: it echoes Eden, it is a shadow of a heavenly reality, and it points ahead to the work and ministry of Jesus and His church. Through this study, I hope we will all come to see the beauty of this part of the Scriptures, how great the work of Christ and His redemption are, and raise our eyes to the heavens in worship.~ Pastor Bryan
IT IS OUR JOY to celebrate the sacrament of communion this morning. All professing believers are welcome to partake in this sacrament. Today we will be invited to come down the middle aisle and receive the elements from the elders at the front of church. We will all make our way back to our seats down the side aisles and wait to partake together once everyone has received. If you are unable to walk to the front, an elder will bring them to you. Please note: there is gluten free bread on the plate. The loaves are NOT gluten free.
POTLUCK: The care community group of Doug Van Andel and Jerry Meenderinck is hosting a potluck in the basement following this morning’s service. Please join us if you are visiting!
ONLINE CHURCH DIRECTORY: Did you know you can access Bethel’s online church directory from your computer or smart phone? A flyer with instructions for using our online directory is in your church mailbox.
NO SUNDAY SCHOOL next week, March 8.
REFORMED ROOTS: This evening, we will be studying the church. The church is not a man-made invention. The church is a work of Jesus. He made it. He holds it together. He purchased it through His blood. It is easy to forget that the church is made by God for His people. In an age of hyper-individualism that denies the importance of the church body, we are going to look at why it is vital for us to gather, engage, and contribute as participants in Christ's church.
ADVANCE NOTICE: Bethel hosts the combined CRC prayer service for crops and industry on Sunday, March 15 at 6 pm. Nursery will be provided and coffee and cookies will be served afterwards. The offering will be taken for Growing Hope Globally, an organization whose vision helps subsistence farmers in developing countries grow their own food and earn an income. Currently they support 49 programs in 31 countries. Specifically, our offering will be used to support the Uganda Rubanda program run by World Renew. For more information: growinghopeglobally.org
BETHEL’S 75th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION will be on October 10 & 11 2026. Save the Date! We will enjoy dinner and a program on Saturday evening and a special worship service on Sunday.
