THIS MORNING we will have installation of new council members: Karl Bosman, Shepherding Elder and Kevin Te Velde, Service Deacon. Karl and Kevin’s term is July 1–June 30, 2029. Thank you to our outgoing council members: Marv Apol, Shepherding Elder and Jerry Meenderinck, Service Deacon. We are grateful for your years of service. 


CHURCH PICNIC TONIGHT: Please join us at Berthusen Park at 5:30 this evening for our annual church picnic. If you are able, please bring a side dish to share and a lawn chair. Table service, drinks, chicken, rolls, and dessert will be provided.


THANK YOU to the SERVE TEAM working together with members from First CRC to paint and make outside repairs to the Summit House this week. Members of the team are from Alberta, Indiana, South Dakota and Michigan.  


ADMIN MEETING HIGHLIGHTS: The Admin team met on June 22.

• Renovations and church network upgrades are progressing well. 

• The lift has been repaired and will be maintained quarterly.

• Christian Education Fund donation and pledge requirements are met.

• New visitor and new member packets are being developed.

• The annual review of the Summit House Ministry was positive.


COUNCIL MEETING HIGHLIGHTS: Council met on June 23.

• We reviewed renovation progress and discussed sound mitigation.

• We noted that the Bethel 75h anniversary still needs significant funds.

• Motion passed to make minor changes to Benevolence Fund policy.

• Rebecca Steiger reported positively on her experience at Synod.

• Motion passed to keep the Council officers as they are: Jeff De Jong, Chair; John Hiemstra, Vicar; Ed Ball, Clerk.
