This Week at Calvary!
Hi Calvary Family,
What an absolute blessing it was to have Missionary David Creswell with us yesterday! He brought us a great Word, and we should consider together his challenge to us:
If Calvary was removed from Savannah, would our community notice?
This is an important question and one we all need to pray about. Mr. Creswell continued his sermon by offering us a look into God's Heart for the Nations. Together we explored Exodus 12 and he offered these helpful insights:
- God is unpredictable in His methods of drawing the nation to himself.
- God is unrelenting in his mission.
God calls us to care for our neighbors, all of them. Mr. Creswell reminded us of who in scripture were refuges: David, Jacob, Moses, and even Jesus himself. We ought to forget how the world responds to immigrants and refugees and look to scripture. Mr. Creswell challenged us to respond this way: Pray, Participate, and Provide.
I hope and pray each of us will earnestly and prayerfully consider how we can make a difference for the gospel in the lives of immigrants and refugees. I will say, one powerful way we can participate and provide is by giving to our Annie Armstrong Mission Offering. 100% of all the money given to this offering goes into the hands of missionaries like David Creswell, who do incredible work for the gospel.
I am praying for you this week! I hope you will join me in praying for how we, as CBT in Savannah, can make difference in the lives of those who need refuge!
