    ——————
Imagine if you were taught your entire life at the Earth was the center of the universe. That the sun revolves around the Earth and that everything in the universe revolves around the Earth
and then one day someone dared to challenge you with ideas about the universe which do not align with your picture.
What would you do ——well I’m pretty sure they would be met with tremendous opposition.
After all, they’re challenging your core beliefs
There is hidden in this illustration — a spiritual principle
    The truth is that …

What we hear shapes are expectations and our expectations in turn shape our reality

Maybe you’re facing a financial challenge or maybe it’s a health challenge or maybe it’s a relationship challenge - any challenge….
So often we get discouraged, and we want to give up
And when someone tells us that we can live in victory and be blessed
    We fight with them.
It seems that we don’t want to hear the Word of God at all.
    Maybe that is you
I don’t really know what you think, what you listen to, what you hear, but I do know that …
what we hear shapes our expectations, and our expectations in turn shape our reality
Why is it that about 60% of Christians believe that miracles ended with the apostles?
They simply do not believe in miracles.
Why? — because they have heard it taught.
I was raised in a church that taught that — miracles ended!
in fact when I told the pastor I got saved, he told me that didnt happen to people from our church and I should go across the street to that church - it happens to those people
I’m so thankful that God in His Grace connected me with a new church —
one that believed in miracles and taught that they are for today
it is so important the Ministry you sit under —— because that choice determines what you hear and

What you hear shapes your expectations and your expectations shape your reality

    Jesus said it this way…
    Mark 4:24 NKJV
24 Then He said to them, “Take heed what you hear. With the same measure you use, it will be measured to you; and to you who hear, more will be given.
    “take heed what you hear”
the Greek word blepo means —take heed— ————— it means to discern —- be careful — take thought — be discerning —or to possess the power of seeing.
You need to be discerning about what you hear because Jesus said,
“with the same measure you use, it will be measured to you”
Jesus used an agricultural description for what happened when we hear
    Whatever measure we take in,
will determine the measure that we receive
What we hear will yield an exponential return —
that is the Spiritual law of sowing and reaping
what you sow — you will reap —bigger—
sow one kernel of corn — what will the return be?
An average ear of corn has about 800 kernels, though the number can range from 400 to over 1,200, arranged usually in 16 rows, but this can vary from 12 to 22 rows.
Each kernel is a seed that contains genetic material and develops from a potential ovule after its associated silk is pollinated by pollen from the corn plant's tassel.
The actual number of kernels depends on successful pollination and the absence of stress during the growing season.
    30 60 100 fold
    400 800 1200 kernels
    12 17 22 rows
one ear per stalk (maybe 2)
80000 kernels or so in a bushel — about 1000 ears
corn is the most grown plant
    3500 uses for corn
God did a wonderful job in creating corn!!
    ———————-
Whatever we hear, see or read—sow— Determines what we will reap
The more you sow of a God with limits
—— the more limits you place on God
The more you sow about a God who can do the impossible
—the more you will believe in a God who can do anything
Take stock for a minute— what have you sown over the last week—
the last month — into your heart?
    remember…

What you hear shapes your expectations and your expectations shape your reality

let’s stop for and refresh our hearts of what the Word says about itself
Because if we do not believe what the Bible says about itself, then the rest of this sermon is kind of pointless

The Living Word: What the Word Says About Itself

Understanding the nature of Scripture strengthens our faith, providing us with the tools to navigate life's challenges
Because the Word of God is inspired, authoritative, and alive, actively working in the lives of those who believe and engage with it.
The Scriptures proclaim their own authority, revealing how they are essential for everything pertaining to life and godliness.
    all or nothing

    1. Scripture: God-Breathed and Profitable

    2 Timothy 3:16–17 NKJV
16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
This passage shows us that God's Word can equip us for every good work, by the transformative power of the living Word.
    3:16  - All scripture
When Paul uses the Greek phrase, pasa graphē, he is refering to the totality of Scripture

    theopneustos

Then Paul uses the Greek term theopneustos here (meaning “God-breathed”) by this he wanted to assure Timothy that Scripture is, in fact, from God.
the word, translated as “is given by inspiration of God,”—means that the breath or Spirit of God is the source of Scripture.
Although God used people to produce the Scriptures, their ultimate origin is God.
    2 Peter 1:20–21 NKJV
20 knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, 21 for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.
Let me emphasize the divine inspiration of Scripture,
understand that all Scripture is God-breathed and therefore authoritative for teaching, reproof, correction, and training in righteousness
    —————
Looking to Scripture itself, we find numerous claims (e.g., Pss. 12:6; 19:7–9; 119:160Prov. 30:5–6John 10:35; 17:17). Every word is described as flawless (Ps. 12:6Prov. 30:5), eternal (Ps. 119:89Isa. 40:8Matt. 24:35), unbreakable (John 10:35), boundless in perfection (Ps. 119:96), and completely reliable (2 Pet. 1:19).
Jesus affirmed it concisely: “[God’s] word is truth” (John 17:17). Scripture’s truthfulness is so comprehensively assumed, in fact, that entire arguments can hinge on appeals to a single word (Matt. 22:45), the number of a noun (Gal. 3:16), even the tense of a verb (Matt. 22:32
The Bible is the most valuable treasure in the universe.
It’s our food (Jer. 15:16), our life (Deut. 32:46–47), our comfort (Ps. 119:50), our strength (Ps. 119:28), our guidance (Ps. 119:105), our desire (Ps. 119:20), our hope (Ps. 130:5), our love (Ps. 119:97), our joy (John 15:11), and our treasure (Ps. 119:72).
Did you know that even Leviticus and Chronicles and Obadiah were written to encourage you?
    Romans 15:4 NKJV
4 For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope.
    Augustine said,
“For now, treat the Scripture of God as the face of God. Melt in its presence.”
Or as one great preacher remarked, “To me the Bible is not God, but it is God’s voice, and I do not hear it without awe.”
The Bible is a bottomless treasure chest of beauty and wonder. It is inspired, true, authoritative, clear, sufficient, powerful, Christ-centered, and precious.
May God help us to treat it as such.

    2. The Word: Living and Active

Hebrews 4:12 reveals to us the power of God's Word,
emphasizing its living nature, and its role as a tool for transformation in the believer's life.
    Hebrews 4:12 NKJV
12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
God's Word is not just historical text, but it is living and active —
that penetrates the soul, offering clarity and conviction for living a life aligned with God's desires.

    Savor the Scriptures: Living Power

    Hebrews 4:12a
i want to Encourage you to approach the Word with expectation and faith, trusting in its power to bring life and change.
This living and active quality shows us that Scripture is not merely words — but an encounter with the living Christ who transforms us from within.

    3. The Power and Purpose of God's Word

Isaiah 55:11 reveals the effectiveness and divine authority of God's Word,
telling us that it will accomplish what God intends and will not return empty.
    Isaiah 55:11 NKJV
11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.
This passage reassures us that God’s Word is reliable and trustworthy
God's Word is powerful and purposeful, guaranteed to accomplish His will in the world and in us.
As one person put it, “The Bible was not written to satisfy your curiosity; it was written to transform your life.”
You need to understand that God's Word is actively working in your life,
bringing about growth, change, and spiritual fruit according to God's sovereign plan.
Remember God's Word achieves the purpose for which it is sent, it is sure and unstoppable in nature.
The Word is the anchor for my faith
listen to what the Word says about itself……
    Psalm 138:2 NKJV
2 I will worship toward Your holy temple, And praise Your name For Your lovingkindness and Your truth; For You have magnified Your word above all Your name.
    Psalm 107:20 NKJV
20 He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions.
    Psalm 119:105 NKJV
105 Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.
    Isaiah 40:8 NKJV
8 The grass withers, the flower fades, But the word of our God stands forever.”
    Psalm 119:89 NKJV
89 Forever, O Lord, Your word is settled in heaven.
    Matthew 4:4 NKJV
4 But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ”
    Psalm 119:130 NKJV
130 The entrance of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple.
    John 1:1 NKJV
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
    John 17:17 NKJV
17 Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.
    Matthew 24:35 NKJV
35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.
    Colossians 3:16 NKJV
16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
    Luke 11:28 NKJV
28 But He said, “More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!”
    —————————————-
so lets go back to the to Mark 4:24….
what is the context for the statement “take heed what you hear”?
look at verses just before it
    Mark 4:14–20 NKJV
14 The sower sows the word. 15 And these are the ones by the wayside where the word is sown. When they hear, Satan comes immediately and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts. 16 These likewise are the ones sown on stony ground who, when they hear the word, immediately receive it with gladness; 17 and they have no root in themselves, and so endure only for a time. Afterward, when tribulation or persecution arises for the word’s sake, immediately they stumble. 18 Now these are the ones sown among thorns; they are the ones who hear the word, 19 and the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things entering in choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful. 20 But these are the ones sown on good ground, those who hear the word, accept it, and bear fruit: some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred.”
    Mark 4:23–24 NKJV
23 If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear.” 24 Then He said to them, “Take heed what you hear. With the same measure you use, it will be measured to you; and to you who hear, more will be given.
Think about it— take heed what you hear— in a passage about sowing the Word
what percentage of the sowing in your life is the Word of God?
What kind of soil is in your heart — hard path, rocky, thorny, good?
if you want to walk in God’s supernatural power — then you need to make some decisions but what you’re going to hear—Sow into your life
and how to prepare your soil
    Romans 10:17 NKJV
17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
As we hear intentionally what the Word of God is saying, it will in turn cause us to hear with spiritual ears inside us.
This is the harvest that Jesus was referring to in Mark 4:24
This is the exponential manifestation of the Word that we hear.
The Holy Spirit speaks the Word of God inside us, and when He does, faith comes.
    Simply put,
    if you want more of God’s power in your life;
    change what you are hearing.
The moment you start meditating on the Word of God with the intention of doing what you are meditating on, you will begin to see those things manifested in your life.
So don’t be frustrated if your life is not looking like the Bible says it should just yet; meditate on the Word of God and watch the power of God turn things around.
Father, in the name of Jesus, I thank You for who You are and all that You have done.
Right now in the name of Jesus I declare that I have great faith. In accordance with Mark 11:22-23, I have the God-kind of faith, and every mountain in my life and in the lives of those around me must obey my voice.
I open my mouth right now and I say that doubt and unbelief must go from me. I am a believer of the Word of God. Every word in the Bible is the truth and I believe it.
The Word of God is the final authority in my life. I am not moved by what I see; I am only moved by the Word of God. I walk by faith in the Word of God and not by sight.
I am not controlled by my emotions, the emotions of others, or my environment; I am completely dominated by God’s Word.
Romans 10:17 declares that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. I am a hearer of Your Word and as a result I have great faith.
Faith is the revelation of God’s Word in action; therefore, I am a doer of Your Word. Nothing is impossible to me because I am a believer of Your Word. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
We mentioned earlier that rhema means living voice, utterance, or spoken word. If you want to see the promises of God come alive, you have to start confessing them in faith and expectation.
We are not just talking about mental assent; we are talking about deep conviction and trust in God.
    The Bible says, (Isaiah 55:11).
    Isaiah 55:11 NKJV
11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.
God’s Word is full of life and power. The moment God speaks His Word, it goes to work on His behalf.
It is no different with us.
Remember, we are not speaking our own words; we are speaking the Word of God.
This is what confession is all about; we are saying what God has already said.
Declare the Word of God right now!
The moment you speak the Word in faith and confidence, it will go to work on your behalf.
    It will never return void.
    remember…

What you hear shapes your expectations and your expectations shape your reality

Expectation is the magnet of the spiritual realm; through expectation we attract the manifestation of God’s power and promises in our lives.
This magnetic power is displayed when you learn to set your mind on things above (spiritual realm) rather than the things on this earth (natural realm).
    Colossians 3:2 NKJV
2 Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.
We set our mind on the realm of the Spirit by setting our mind on the Word of God.
The more you and I learn to set our minds on the Word of God, the more we will expect that Word to be demonstrated in our lives.
Contrariwise, if we don’t have any expectation for the miraculous, we will not see the miraculous (at least not consistently).
    Prayer and Decree
Heavenly Father, I thank You for the power and authority of Your Word. Your Word declares, “Forever, O Lord, Your word is settled in heaven” (Psalm 119:89).
Today, I stand on the unshakable foundation of Your promises, knowing they carry ultimate authority over every situation in my life. Lord, I declare that Your Word governs my thoughts, words, and actions.
I reject the lies of the enemy, and I choose to speak and believe only what You have said. Your Word is alive, powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, cutting through every obstacle and releasing divine breakthrough (see Hebrews 4:12).
Today, I decree that every situation in my life must align with the authority of Your Word. I declare healing, deliverance, provision, and peace, for Your Word has the final say. I walk in victory because Your Word cannot fail. In Jesus’ name, amen!
everything in the Kingdom of God rises and falls on the Word of God—especially faith. In fact,
the Word of God is the key to having faith in God. if we are going to operate in faith, we must understand the basis for all faith, which is the Word of God.
the more we understand the Word of God, the more that Word will release the power of unlimited faith in our lives.
This is the key to releasing God’s supernatural power in our lives. This is the secret to living in the dimension of the miraculous every day. You and I have to be convinced of what God has already said and respond accordingly.
I declare that Your Word is absolutely true. Your WORD is settled forever in the heavenly realm; therefore, Your Word is settled in my heart. You created everything with Your Word and Your Word establishes Your divine purpose in my life — in the name of Jesus.
The Word of God is pregnant with the miracle-working power of God. If you want to gain access to miracle-working power, you must first gain access to the Word.
The interesting thing about this is that most Christians spend very little time studying the Word of God on a regular basis.
There is a cry throughout America for a move of God’s Spirit, but every move of God recorded in the Bible is connected with God’s Word.
Every miracle begins with the Word. If you want to experience miracles in your life, it must begin with the Word.
Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God; therefore, I hear the Holy Spirit speak Your Words into my spirit and I believe them.
Thank You, Lord, for giving me a conviction in my heart for those Words.
I will never doubt Your Word.
I will never allow myself to be manipulated by circumstances.
My circumstance will never change Your Word, but Your Word will always change my circumstances for Your Glory.
I am not only a hearer, I am a doer of the Word. Therefore, I receive the promises of God for my life — in Jesus’ name. Amen!

    We have an Unbreakable Covenant

In Psalm 89 we see God's commitment is to His covenant, showing His faithfulness to His promises and the enduring nature of His Word.
    Psalm 89:34 NKJV
34 My covenant I will not break, Nor alter the word that has gone out of My lips.
we need to realize the importance of trusting in God's Word, especially during times of doubt or when experiencing the challenges of life. it is then that we must rely on the unchanging promises of God.
God’s Word is trustworthy and His promises are unbreakable,
God's unbreakable covenant reflects His unwavering faithfulness.
We scan lean on the reliability of God's promises,
We can navigate uncertainties, knowing that God's Word remains steadfast and true,
just as it was fulfilled in Christ's life, death, and resurrection.

What you hear shapes your expectations and your expectations shape your reality

    Psalm 62:5 NKJV
5 My soul, wait silently for God alone, For my expectation is from Him.
