Wrong choice! There can be but one Choice consistent with the Character of a people possessing the least degree of reason. And that is to Seperate—to seperate from that people who from a total dissolution of virtue among them must be our enemies—An Event which I de[v]outly pray may soon take place; and let it be as soon as it may.- HENRY KNOX TO JOHN ADAMS===================When the Second Continental Congress voted in favor of independence,General George Washington issued General Orders to his army.In words that have echoed throughout history, he wrote:“The fate of unborn Millions will now depend, under God, on the Courage and Conduct of this army… Let us therefore rely upon the goodness of the Cause, and the aid of the supreme Being, in whose hands Victory is, to animate and encourage us to great and noble Actions.”Today, too, we pray that our noble cause continues to be guided by the hand of providence and the grace of God— and that the fire of freedom will forever burn brightly in the heart of every American.Above all, we pray and endeavor that the triumph of the American spirit and the glorious truths expressed in our Declaration of Independence will shine more radiantly than ever before.=========On March 16, 1776, The Second Continental Congress acted, 250 years ago today, Proclaiming May 17, 1776 as a Day of “Humiliation, Fasting, and Prayer.”...That He would be graciously pleased to bless all His people in these colonies with health and plenty, and grant that a spirit of incorruptible patriotism, and of pure undefiled religion, may universally prevail; and this continent be speedily restored to the blessings of peace and liberty, and enabled to transmit them inviolate to the latest posterity. And it is recommended to Christians of all denominations, to assemble for public worship, and abstain from servile labor on the said day.”———————————250 years ago, independence seemed impossible. The most powerful empire on earth ruled the seas and commanded the world’s strongest army.Opposing it were farmers and tradesmen, printers and preachers —everyday people with worn boots and makeshift muskets. They weren’t only fighting for independence. They were fighting for an idea: power belongs to the people. In crowded halls and candlelit rooms, our founders turned that idea into a framework for self-government that rejected monarchy and the notion that might makes right. It was fragile, contested, and unfinished, but rooted in a radical truth: that all are created equal.Armed with that truth, 13 stars became one constellation.A rebellion became a republic. And the republic endured.Over 250 years, through civil war, economic collapse, global conflict, and social upheaval. It endured because each generation accepted the gift of freedom— and carried it further. At Seneca Falls. Through Gettysburg. On the bridge at Selma. And now it is our turn. On this milestone, we honor how far we have come by doing what Americans do best: setting our sights on the next horizon.Freedom is our inheritance. Its future is our responsibility. This is how America advances. Then, now, and for the next 250 years. In God we Trust!————————————————————————————on Friday — Dear Pastor, from Franklin Graham We are blessed to call the United States of America our home, but as we celebrate its 250th anniversary, our nation is in trouble and needs prayer. As you know, more and more Americans have abandoned Biblical truth, and our culture has embraced so much of what God’s Word calls sin. Jesus Christ is the only hope for the future of our country, and only He can turn it around. That’s why I’m asking you to be a part of a special 50-day prayer initiative called One Nation Under God—and it begins today! One pastor from each state will lead us in a short prayer for America every day from now to July Fourth. I hope you will join Christians across the land as we ask God for guidance and protection—and for revival throughout the United States. Thank you for your heart for the Gospel and for this nation. Your prayers can make a difference now and for generations to come.May 15-July 4 — Sign up at OneNationUnderGod.com——————————————————-I think this Proclamation by our president at the beginning of this year is worth reading….YEAR OF CELEBRATION AND REDEDICATION - 2026BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICAA PROCLAMATIONOn January 1, 2026, the United States began our year-long commemoration of an important milestone in the history of our country: 250 years of American freedom and independenceTwo and a half centuries ago, on July 4, 1776, thousands of years’ worth of wisdom, philosophy, and culture were brought together in Philadelphia where delegates to the Second Continental Congress gathered to declare the birth of a new nation — “conceived in Liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal” — and, in so doing, launched the single greatest force for goodness, justice, prosperity, and human flourishing the world has ever known. As we celebrate the 250th year since the signing of the Declaration of Independence, we acknowledge with gratitude and pride that July 4, 1776, represents the most seminal political event in all of human history.Unlike other nations, America’s Founding was rooted in the belief that every man, woman, and child is “endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”This conviction, enshrined in our Declaration of Independence, and indelibly etched upon every American heart, remains the bedrock of our government and the crown jewel of Western civilization. For 250 years, the burning flame of liberty has been passed down from one generation to the next, and has carried our Nation and our people to heights that our Founding Fathers could have never dreamed.Guided by the example of Founding Fathers like George Washington, John Adams, James Madison, Benjamin Franklin, and other American patriots who helped light the torch of liberty in 1776, let us ask our Creator to bless America, free our Nation and our people from all threats to our safety and happiness, and to guide our actions for the security and common good of all Americans. This year, we honor and cherish the generations of pioneers, warriors, statesmen, preachers, inventors, risk-takers, workers, and heroes whose unwavering commitment to the promise of freedom gave rise to the greatest Republic ever created. Today and throughout this year, I call on every American to celebrate this triumph of the American spirit, and to rededicate themselves to the sacred cause of liberty and justice for all.The Bible teaches: “In all circumstances give thanks.” As such, it is fitting that we mark this special year as a unique occasion to celebrate our proud history, reflect on our abundant blessings, pray for our country and our people, and rededicate ourselves as one Nation under God. May 17From the earliest days of our national story, reflection and thanksgiving have been central to our character, identity, and destiny. Just weeks before declaring independence, the Second Continental Congress ordered a day of “fasting, humiliation and prayer,” petitioning God “to pardon all our manifold sins and transgressions” and to “establish the peace and freedom of America, upon a solid and lasting foundation.” Later, in the heart of the Revolutionary War, the Second Continental Congress declared it “the indispensable duty of all men to adore the superintending providence of Almighty God.”In the sweltering summer of 1776, the promise of Freedom moved our ancestors to break with a tyrannical empire, issue the Declaration of Independence, and go on to overcome every hardship to establish a Republic like no other. It is this unwavering spirit of courage, faith and patriotism that propelled Paul Revere on his famous midnight ride, and that later inspired some of the world’s greatest men to pledge their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor to build a new nation. It is this spirit that led General George Washington to persevere at Valley Forge; inspired Davy Crockett to make his last stand at the Alamo; sustained settlers on the Oregon Trail; held the bloody ridges of Gettysburg; set slavery on a path to worldwide extinction; roused a generation of young men to conquer tyranny and communism overseas; and carried our beautiful Stars and Stripes to the face of the moon. To this very day, it is this American spirit that lives on in the hearts, minds, and souls of every patriot — and inspires every new generation of American citizens to reach further and aim higher. When the Second Continental Congress voted in favor of independence, General George Washington issued General Orders to his army. In words that have echoed throughout history, he wrote: “The fate of unborn Millions will now depend, under God, on the Courage and Conduct of this army… Let us therefore rely upon the goodness of the Cause, and the aid of the supreme Being, in whose hands Victory is, to animate and encourage us to great and noble Actions.”Today, too, we pray that our noble cause continues to be guided by the hand of providence and the grace of God — and that the fire of freedom will forever burn brightly in the heart of every American. Above all, this Day/year, we pray and endeavor that the triumph of the American spirit and the glorious truths expressed in our Declaration of Independence will shine more radiantly than ever before.NOW, THEREFORE, I, DONALD J. TRUMP, President of the United States of America, do hereby proclaim 2026 as a Year of Celebration and Rededication. I call on every American to reflect upon and celebrate the wisdom and deeds of the heroes of our Founding who made the miracle of America possible. I call on parents to teach their children about America’s inspiring history, heritage, and heroes. I invite the world to come to our shores to experience the splendor, warmth, and hospitality of America. And I encourage all Americans — including businesses, churches, families, and the military — to observe this year, reflecting on the blessings our Nation has received, with appropriate programs, ceremonies, concerts, celebrations, and activities in their homes, schools, work, communities, military bases, and houses of worship.IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this twenty-ninth day of January, in the year of our Lord two thousand twenty-six, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and fiftieth.DONALD J. TRUMP———————————————————————————————May 15, 2026This day, We Rewrite Our EpitaphRededication 250: A Day of Prayer, Praise, and WorshipLet us pray that it accomplishes everything the Lord desires…and requires.in the Hebrew Bible the word “qadash” for dedication or rededication means “consecration” or “set apart unto.”this word, qadash, is used on four very important occasions when the people of Israel were told to dedicate themselves to God as a nation.Looking at these occasions will help us understand how to pray today.SINAIThe first is in Exodus 19:10
Exodus 19:10 NKJV 10 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Go to the people and consecrate them today and tomorrow, and let them wash their clothes.Moses was told to qadash (dedicate) Israel for two days at the foot of Mount Sinai, before he went up the mountain to meet with God. Yahweh was preparing to supernaturally give Moses the government for Israel, formalizing them as a nation: laws, policies, procedures, important dates, etc.Four verses before these instructions, the Lord had told them: “And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation” (verse 6). Sinai was, among other things, “government mountain.” And before Israel was formally born there, they were prepared by these two days of dedication. This upcoming Sunday, we will meet at America’s “government mountain” to rededicate ourselves as “one nation under God.” We’ll declare allegiance to His will and ways, and worship Him there. Pray that His presence, power, and glory come spiritually over our nation, just as they did tangibly at Sinai.THE PRIESTHOODIn Exodus 28:41Exodus 28:41 NKJV 41 So you shall put them on Aaron your brother and on his sons with him. You shall anoint them, consecrate them, and sanctify them, that they may minister to Me as priests.Moses was told to qadash (dedicate) Aaron and his sons to the Lord before anointing them as the beginning of Israel’s priesthood. Qadash precedes anointing. God wanted more than a religious nation; He wanted a relationship, a connection, with people. And ultimately, not just with Israel, but with all people.Israel was to play a significant role in this, helping Him save the world and recover His family: the Messiah would come through them! This partnership, obviously, would require that the connection remain strong. To aid in this, the priesthood was essential. And for this significant role, they had to be dedicated to Him.America was also created by God to partner with Him in saving the world.Pray that our spiritual leaders rededicate themselves to this cause, and receive a fresh anointing to lead.ENTERING CANAANIn Joshua 3:5Joshua 3:5 NKJV 5 And Joshua said to the people, “Sanctify yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you.”Joshua told the people to qadash (dedicate) themselves to the Lord before crossing the Jordan into the promised land of Canaan. They were about to receive the fulfillment of a 430-year-old promise to Abraham: the gift of a homeland. But first, the Lord told them to spend a day connecting with Him. This shows us that the condition of our hearts affects our land and possessions.Pray that this Sunday makes possible the healing of our land (2 Chronicles 7:14). The blood of multiplied millions of babies, as well as violence, broken covenants, immorality, and idolatry, have defiled our land. Ask that the blood of Jesus cleanses our homeland from ALL sin and unrighteousness (1 John 1:7).RESTORATIONJoel 2:15–16 NKJV 15 Blow the trumpet in Zion, Consecrate a fast, Call a sacred assembly; 16 Gather the people, Sanctify the congregation, Assemble the elders, Gather the children and nursing babes; Let the bridegroom go out from his chamber, And the bride from her dressing room.Joel 2 is a desperate, urgent call to national repentance amidst a catastrophic insect plague and severe drought in Israel. This plague - a judgment from Israel’s sin - threatened total economic destruction, just as their sin threatened spiritual destruction. The solution, Joel prophesied, was a national return to God. In Joel 2:15-16, the prophet declared that the people of Israel should qadash (dedicate) themselves to Him once again, to allow for the incredible restoration God wanted to perform. “Connect with Me, so I can heal you.”God told Israel He wanted their hearts, not religious ceremonies (Joel 2.12-13Joel 2:12–13 NKJV 12 “Now, therefore,” says the Lord, “Turn to Me with all your heart, With fasting, with weeping, and with mourning.” 13 So rend your heart, and not your garments; Return to the Lord your God, For He is gracious and merciful, Slow to anger, and of great kindness; And He relents from doing harm. And He wanted to bless them abundantly (Joel 2.18-27Joel 2:18–27 NKJV 18 Then the Lord will be zealous for His land, And pity His people. 19 The Lord will answer and say to His people, “Behold, I will send you grain and new wine and oil, And you will be satisfied by them; I will no longer make you a reproach among the nations. 21 Fear not, O land; Be glad and rejoice, For the Lord has done marvelous things! 23 Be glad then, you children of Zion, And rejoice in the Lord your God; For He has given you the former rain faithfully, And He will cause the rain to come down for you— The former rain, And the latter rain in the first month. 24 The threshing floors shall be full of wheat, And the vats shall overflow with new wine and oil. 25 “So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, The crawling locust, The consuming locust, And the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you. 26 You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, And praise the name of the Lord your God, Who has dealt wondrously with you; And My people shall never be put to shame. 27 Then you shall know that I am in the midst of Israel: I am the Lord your God And there is no other. My people shall never be put to shame.including the pouring out of His Spirit (Joel 2.28-29Joel 2:28–29 NKJV 28 “And it shall come to pass afterward That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions. 29 And also on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days.Pray with us that on Sunday, our nation responds in such a way that God can restore us, remove the curses we have brought on ourselves, and pour out His Spirit. There has already been much repentance for America by millions of believers; we have stood in the gap, repenting for the whole. Throughout history, God has accepted the repentance and intercession of a remnant for the sins of a nation.I believe He has for America, as well, and that restoration and revival are coming to our land.Ask that what happens today be the capstone for this.In the book Is It Real When It Doesn't Work? Doug Murren and Barb Shurin recount:“Toward the end of the nineteenth century, Swedish chemist Alfred Nobel awoke one morning to read his own obituary in the local newspaper: ‘Alfred Nobel, the inventor of dynamite, who died yesterday, devised a way for more people to be killed in a war than ever before, and he died a very rich man.’“Actually, it was Alfred’s older brother who had died; a newspaper reporter had bungled the epitaph. But the account had a profound effect on Nobel. He decided he wanted to be known for something other than developing the means to kill people efficiently and for amassing a fortune in the process. So he initiated the Nobel Prize, the award for scientists and writers who foster peace. Nobel said, ‘Every man ought to have the chance to correct his epitaph in midstream and write a new one.’”(God is giving America a chance to rewrite our history - our epitaph. If written now, it would read, “Weighed in the balances and found wanting.”Today, we can change it.Today we stand in victory because of God, who always causes us to triumph in Christ!Pray with me:Lord, thousands are gathering at America’s “government mountain” today, and millions will join online, to rededicate our nation to You. We believe You led our President to ask for this. In response, we ask You to come to this mountain with Your presence, power, and glory, just as You did at Sinai. Re-consecrate America.Purify and recommission our spiritual leaders, symbolized by Aaron, his sons, and Israel’s priesthood. Bring revival to the church, and start with the leaders. And heal our land. As we dedicate ourselves to You on Sunday, let healing flow to our “Canaan,” our inheritance. Our land is defiled and groaning. From sea to shining sea, please cleanse our nation from innocent bloodshed and all other defilements. Finally, restore us to You, and to our destiny. The plagues of Joel have become the plagues of America (Joel 1:4 KJV). “Worms” and “locusts” are eating us from the inside out; devastation is everywhere, and our land is ravaged. In wrath, please remember mercy. As we gather with You this day, let us rewrite our epitaph. We pray this in Yeshua’s name. Amen. Our decree:Say it with me: America shall be saved — America is being saved.——————————————————-Rededication Prayer and DecreesLord, we stand in repentance for our sins, personally and corporately for our nation.
