Revelation 19:11–16 NLT 11 Then I saw heaven opened, and a white horse was standing there. Its rider was named Faithful and True, for he judges fairly and wages a righteous war. 12 His eyes were like flames of fire, and on his head were many crowns. A name was written on him that no one understood except himself. 13 He wore a robe dipped in blood, and his title was the Word of God. 14 The armies of heaven, dressed in the finest of pure white linen, followed him on white horses. 15 From his mouth came a sharp sword to strike down the nations. He will rule them with an iron rod. He will release the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty, like juice flowing from a winepress. 16 On his robe at his thigh was written this title: King of all kings and Lord of all lords.Jesus is many things… my provider… my sanctifier… my protector… my Savior... my healer... but he is also king of kings and lord of lords. He is our Savior too, and we all like this part.Jesus is Lord of Lords.Savior is used 55 times and Lord is used 7,484 times. Lord actually means master or owner. A great way to begin this new year is to say to Him, Jesus you are my Lord. You are not just my Savior, but you are my Lord… my owner… my boss. The word Lord is different for us in the US because we are a democratic republic and we can and get to choose our leaders. I thank God for this kind of government that he has given us. A kingdom is a monarchy. Jesus is not president, He is the King of Kings.Philippians 2:5–11 NLT 5 You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. 6 Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. 7 Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form, 8 he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross. 9 Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.Let’s look at what Jesus did here.1. Jesus gave up His rights.Philippians 2:6–7 NLT 6 Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. 7 Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form,When Jesus left heaven to become one os us, (incarnation), he gave up his divine power and rights. When you think about that he did this for us, it’s incredible. It makes me want to say, Lord what do you want from me? That’s how we need to pray.2. Jesus humbled Himself.Philippians 2:6–7 NLT 6 Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. 7 Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form,Jesus left the glories of heaven to become one of us, his creation. He was born as we are and lived like us as he grew, but he never committed a sin.3. He lived in obedience to His Father.Philippians 2:7–8 NLT 7 Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form, 8 he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross.Basically, He did what His Father wanted him to do.That’s what God wants from us. He wants us to get rid of any thoughts of entitlement… to humble ourselves before him… to live in obedience to him.Prayer time - with background music.direct this part… with a few minutes between each point.First, Ask God to show you any sins or attitudes that are unpleasing to God. Then pray and confess to God and repent from them.Next focus on who we are in relationship to God. Jesus humbled himself and we need to do the same.Next ask God to help you do what ever he is telling you to do. He will speak to you during these times.give about 10 minutes.Prayer requests on altar… Prayer guides…This is not a time to visit, but to pray. You can walk around, sit where you are or come to the altar. You can pray with someone else or even in small groups… It’s ok to move around. You can go pray for someone else, but ask them first.Pray out loud. We will be playing music in the background so that we don’t hear each others prayers.Feel free to walk around and pray. Pray over empty seats… pray over seats where you know who usually sits there and pray for them.My prayer time10 min maxFather, I thank you that you are here with us and that we can come to you anytime...Your Word says the righteous run to him… so we are thankful that we can run to you...Thank you!
