    Opening
Beloved, Pentecost is not just the sound of a rushing mighty wind. Pentecost is not just tongues like fire resting upon the people of God. Pentecost is not just a holy moment where heaven touches earth.
Pentecost is also the picture of what happens when a people come into order.
Before the wind came, obedience came. Before the fire fell, an agreement was formed. Before Peter preached, the people waited. Before three thousand souls were added, one hundred and twenty souls sat together in one place, with one mind, under one command from one Lord.
Jesus told them, “Do not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the Promise of the Father.”
    That was the instruction.
    And they obeyed.
They did not have all the details. They did not know the exact hour. They did not know what the sound would sound like. They did not know what the fire would look like. They did not know that people from every nation would hear them speaking in their own language.
All they had was a word.
    Wait.
    And they waited.
There is a blessing that comes when we can obey God before we understand everything God is doing.
There is a blessing that comes when we can sit where He told us to sit, stay where He told us to stay, and trust that His promise will not be late.
    The disciples waited ten days.
Ten days in that upper room. Ten days of prayer. Ten days of surrender. Ten days of togetherness. Ten days of laying aside personal thoughts, private agendas, old wounds, and human impatience. Ten days of letting God form them into a vessel that could carry what He was about to pour out.
We often ask God for fire, but God first looks for order.
We ask Him for a move, but He first looks for agreement.
We ask Him for increase, but He first looks for obedience.
The blessing is in the order.

The Upper Room Was a Place of Agreement

Acts chapter 2 says, “When the day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.” Acts 2:1
    Acts 2:1 NKJV
When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
    That phrase is rich.
One accord does not mean everybody lost their personality. It does not mean everybody had the same gift. It does not mean everybody had the same testimony. It means they had one posture before God.
    They were together.
Their hearts were turned toward the same promise.
Their ears were open to the same Lord.
Their feet were planted in the same place.
    That is order.
Order is not bondage. Order is blessing.
Order is what keeps the oil from being wasted.
Order is what keeps the house from breaking under the weight of glory.
Order is what allows the Spirit to move without confusion swallowing the moment.
When a house is in order, worship gets richer. Prayer gets stronger. Families get healthier. Vision gets clearer. The word lands deeper. The people grow faster. The atmosphere becomes easier to breathe in because pride is not choking the room.
I declare over this house, we are not coming into cold order. We are coming into blessed order.
We are coming into fruitful order.
We are coming into Spirit filled order.
We are coming into the kind of order where the Lord can trust us with more.

Abram Obeyed the Word Before He Saw the Place

This upper room obedience brings us back to Abram in Genesis chapter 12.
    Genesis 12:1 NKJV
Now the Lord had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, From your family And from your father’s house, To a land that I will show you.
God told Abram, “Get out of your country, from your family and from your father’s house, to a land that I will show you.”
Abram did not receive a full explanation. He received a divine command.
    Leave.
    Go.
    I will show you.
    That is faith.
Faith is not only believing God can bless us. Faith is obeying God when His instruction interrupts what is familiar.
Abram had to leave the place that shaped him so he could step into the place that God promised him.
The disciples had to leave their own timing so they could step into the promise of the Father.
Sometimes the blessing of the Lord does not meet us where our comfort is. Sometimes the blessing meets us where our obedience is.
We want God to bless what we prefer, but the Father blesses what He ordered.
Abram obeyed, and generations were blessed.
The disciples obeyed, and nations heard the gospel.
When we obey God, we do not just unlock something for ourselves. We open a door for those connected to us.
Your obedience can bless your family.
Your obedience can bless your children.
Your obedience can bless your church.
Your obedience can bless people who have not even met you yet.
Somebody is going to walk into freedom because we obeyed God while it was still uncomfortable.
Somebody is going to hear the gospel because we stayed in place until the Spirit gave power.
Somebody is going to be healed because we refused to break order when pressure came.

Deuteronomy 28 Shows the Richness of Obedience

Now we must hear Deuteronomy 28:1-7 with fresh ears.
    Deuteronomy 28:1–7 NKJV
“Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God: “Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the country. “Blessed shall be the fruit of your body, the produce of your ground and the increase of your herds, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flocks. “Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl. “Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out. “The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before your face; they shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways.
The Lord says, “If you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments, all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you.”
That word “overtake” is the kind of word that will make faith rise in the room.
Blessing does not merely visit obedience. Blessing overtakes obedience.
When we walk in the order of God, blessing knows where to find us.
Blessed in the city. Blessed in the field. Blessed in the fruit of our body. Blessed in the work of our hands. Blessed in our coming in. Blessed in our going out. Blessed when enemies rise against us, because the Lord promises they will come one way and flee seven ways.
    That is not small living.
    That is rich living.
    Rich in peace.
    Rich in wisdom.
    Rich in stability.
    Rich in spiritual covering.
    Rich in family order.
    Rich in clarity.
    Rich in favor.
Rich in the presence of God.
We are not just preaching order because something is wrong. We are preaching order because something is available.
There is a blessing the Lord wants to command.
There is a fullness the Lord wants to release.
There is an open heaven that rests over surrendered people.
I declare that as we obey the Lord, blessing will overtake our homes.
I declare that as we honor the order of God, confusion will lose its grip.
I declare that as we come into one accord, the Spirit of the Lord will move with liberty.
I declare that our children will see the fruit of our obedience.
I declare that our worship will not be dry, our prayers will not be empty, and our labor will not be in vain.
The blessing is in the order.

    Order Protects the House

Now, beloved, this is where we gently but clearly correct the behavior that hinders the flow.
Numbers 12:2 tells us that Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses.
    Numbers 12:2 NLT
They said, “Has the Lord spoken only through Moses? Hasn’t he spoken through us, too?” But the Lord heard them.
Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses. Their words sounded personal, but Heaven heard rebellion. They said, “Has the Lord indeed spoken only through Moses? Has He not spoken through us also?”
The text says, “And the Lord heard it.”
    That sentence still carries weight.
God heard what was said. He heard the tone under the words. He heard the pride behind the question. He heard the dishonor hiding beneath the surface.
But we must see this carefully. God did not correct Miriam and Aaron because He hated them. He corrected them because He loved the house.
    Correction is not rejection.
    Correction is mercy.
When God corrects disorder, He is protecting destiny.
Miriam and Aaron were not nobodies. Miriam was a prophetess. Aaron was the high priest. They had gifts. They had history. They had standing. But gifting does not remove the need for humility.
God defended the order He had established. Moses did not have to campaign for himself. He did not have to defend his office. He did not have to prove his worth. God stepped in and made it clear: when you touch divine order, you are dealing with more than a man.
The Lord was teaching Israel that spiritual power must remain under divine order.
    That is still true today.
The church is not blessed when suspicion leads the room. The church is not blessed when murmuring becomes normal. The church is not blessed when people speak more than they pray. The church is not blessed when correction is treated like rejection.
But when humility enters the house, grace enters with it.
First Peter chapter 5 says, “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”
    Grace comes where humility lives.
That means submission is not a burden. Submission is a place of grace.
When we humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God, God lifts us in due time.
When we honor God’s order, God releases His care.
Peter says, “Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.”
    Notice the flow.
    Humility.
    Submission.
    Grace.
    Exaltation.
    Care.
    That is rich.
A submitted life is not a poor life. A submitted life is a covered life.
A submitted believer is not less than. A submitted believer is protected, planted, and prepared.

God Gave Gifts to the Church

Ephesians 4:11-12 says that when Christ ascended, He gave gifts unto men. He gave apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers for the perfecting of the saints.
    Ephesians 4:11–12 NLT
Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ.
God did not give leadership to crush the church. He gave leadership to mature the church.
He gave shepherds because sheep need care.
He gave teachers because saints need truth.
He gave apostles because the church needs order and sending.
He gave prophets because the people need to hear the burden of the Lord.
He gave evangelists because the lost must be reached.
These gifts are not for decoration. They are for development.
When we receive the gift of order, we receive the blessing attached to it.
A church that honors godly leadership becomes a church that can be equipped.
A church that can be equipped becomes a church that can serve.
A church that can serve becomes a church that can grow.
A church that can grow becomes a church that can carry glory without collapsing under it.
This is why the enemy fights order. He knows order carries blessing.
He knows one accord makes room for fire.
He knows honor keeps the oil flowing.
He knows submission breaks the back of pride.
He knows unity makes the house dangerous to darkness.

Peter Stood, and the People Received the Word

When the Spirit fell in Acts chapter 2, the crowd gathered.
    Some were amazed.
    Some mocked.
Some said, “These men are full of new wine.”
Then Peter stood up with the eleven.
    That moment is beautiful.
Peter stood, but he did not stand by himself. The eleven stood with him. One voice preached, but the body was in agreement.
    That is order.
Nobody fought for the microphone. Nobody broke the moment. Nobody said, “Why Peter?” Nobody said, “I have been waiting too.” Nobody said, “We all have the Spirit, so nobody needs to lead.”
They understood that the Spirit can fill everybody and still appoint a voice.
The Holy Ghost can touch the whole room and still use one man to preach the word.
And when Peter preached, the people were cut to the heart.
They did not argue with the messenger.
They asked, “Men and brethren, what shall we do?”
That question is the sound of humility.
    What shall we do?
Not, “Who does he think he is?”
Not, “I do not like his tone.”
    Not, “I know his past.”
Not, “I would have said it differently.”
    They received the word.
And because they received the word, about three thousand souls were added that day.
    Received word produces added souls.
    Received order produces kingdom increase.
    Received correction produces fresh alignment.
Received leadership produces covering and growth.
I speak this over the house: we will be a people who receive the word of the Lord with gladness.
We will not miss our Pentecost because of pride.
We will not miss our harvest because of offense.
We will not miss our blessing because we refused instruction.
We will receive the word, walk in order, and see the hand of the Lord.

Be Saved From This Perverse Generation

Acts 2:40 Peter cried, “Be saved from this perverse generation.”
    Acts 2:40 CJB
He pressed his case with many other arguments and kept pleading with them, “Save yourselves from this perverse generation!”
That was not only a warning. It was an invitation.
Be saved from the crookedness of the age.
Be saved from the spirit that cannot be corrected.
Be saved from the culture that trains people to dishonor everything holy.
Be saved from the mindset that calls rebellion freedom.
Be saved from the pride that refuses covering.
Be saved from the confusion that breaks homes, churches, and destinies.
God is not trying to take life from us. He is trying to bring us into a richer life.
The world says, “Do whatever you want.”
The Lord says, “Follow Me, and I will make you.”
The world says, “Nobody can tell me anything.”
The Lord says, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”
The world says, “Live without restraint.”
The Lord says, “Walk in My ways, and blessing will overtake you.”
There is a better life in obedience.
    There is peace in obedience.
    There is joy in obedience.
    There is protection in obedience.
    There is maturity in obedience.
    There is blessing in obedience.
The Lord is calling us away from the crooked ways of this generation, not to make us miserable, but to make us whole.

What True Obedience Does in the Believer

    True obedience makes life richer.
It brings peace to the mind.
It brings steadiness to the heart.
    It brings health to relationships.
    It brings clarity to decisions.
    It brings strength to families.
It brings unity to the church.
It opens the believer to grace.
It makes room for the Holy Spirit to move freely.
When we obey, we stop fighting the hand that is trying to bless us.
When we submit, we stop wrestling with the structure God designed to mature us.
When we come into order, we stop leaking strength through unnecessary conflict.
That is why the upper room matters.
They were not wasting time in that room. They were being prepared.
God was forming them for fire.
And beloved, I believe God is forming us too.
    He is forming our hearts.
    He is forming our speech.
    He is forming our worship.
    He is forming our families.
    He is forming our leadership.
    He is forming our church.
He is getting us ready for what He wants to pour out.
    The waiting is not punishment.
    The order is not restriction.
    The submission is not defeat.
    It is preparation for glory.

    Declaration Over the House

I declare that blessing is coming upon the obedient.
I declare that grace is resting upon the humble.
I declare that the Lord is strengthening every family that chooses His order.
I declare that peace is entering homes where confusion has been loud.
I declare that honor is returning to the house of God.
I declare that the oil will flow where unity is protected.
I declare that the Spirit of the Lord will move freely where rebellion has been surrendered.
I declare that sons and daughters will be strengthened by the obedience of the fathers and mothers.
I declare that the Lord will bless our coming in and our going out.
I declare that the work of our hands will prosper as we walk in the word of the Lord.
I declare that this house will not be dry.
This house will not be divided.
This house will not be ruled by offense.
This house will not be shaped by the spirit of the age.
We will be a people of prayer.
We will be a people of honor.
We will be a people of obedience.
We will be a people of order.
We will be a people ready for fire.

    Altar Appeal

Today, the altar is not a place of shame. It is a place of alignment.
The Lord is not calling us forward to crush us. He is calling us forward to bless us.
Somebody needs to say, “Lord, bring my life into order.”
Somebody needs to say, “Lord, bring my home into order.”
Somebody needs to say, “Lord, bring my mouth into order.”
Somebody needs to say, “Lord, bring my heart into order.”
Somebody needs to say, “Lord, I want the blessing that comes with obedience.”
    This is the call.
    Come out of confusion.
    Come out of pride.
    Come out of resistance.
    Come out of weariness.
Come out of doing it your own way.
Come into the order of God.
Come into the peace of God.
Come into the blessing of God.
Come into the place where the Spirit can fill you again.
Peter said, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
    The promise is still alive.
The Father still pours out His Spirit.
The Lord still fills surrendered vessels.
The fire still falls where obedience waits.
And I speak this over your life: as you obey the Lord, blessing will overtake you. As you honor His order, grace will meet you. As you humble yourself under His mighty hand, He will lift you in due time.
The blessing is in the order.
The oil is in the order.
The peace is in the order.
The fire is in the order.
And when we come into one accord, in one place, under one Lord, with one surrendered heart, Heaven still knows how to answer with fire.
