  • How the Lord Helps His People
    Psalm 46:1–3 NKJV
1 God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. 2 Therefore we will not fear, Even though the earth be removed, And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; 3 Though its waters roar and be troubled, Though the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble” (Ps. 46:1).

    He Speaks Through Prevailing Prayer

Psa. 91:15 God says: “He shall call upon me, and I will answer him...”
He will be with us in trouble
He will deliver us, and honor us
“those who make the Lord, their habitation”
Webster defines prevail: “To produce or achieve the desired effect; to be effective; succeed.”
We are effective in prayer when we fellowship with God.
He speaks to us and answers our prayers.
Prayers may be answered with “yes, No, or wait”, but will be answered
Christians should continue in a spirit of prayer at all times.
Jesus said, “Men ought always to pray and not to faint” (Luke 18:1).
then shared the story of the persistent widow and the judge
When we continue in prayer, we not only reap the benefit, we have fellowship with God, and a closer relationship

    He Assures Through Precious Promises

The Bible says “Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature” (2 Peter 1:4).
Many Christians neglect the promises of God.
Through busyness with other concerns, they forfeit the benefits of God’s Word.
God’s precious promises assure Christians of his protection and provision.
Also of His judgement and Truth
And of our eternal Life and heavenly citizenship
God helps his people through the assurance of his promises.
    We must read them,
    review them,
    reflect,
    and rely on them.

    He Calms Through Personal Peace

Jesus said “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you” (John 14:27).
Today’s world is overrun with illicit sex, drug abuse, and terrorism. Millions of people are searching unsuccessfully for peace.
Real and lasting peace is found only in Jesus Christ.
His peace is there to those who obey and trust him.
Jesus said, “My peace I give unto you” (John 14:27). Accept his personalized peace today.
    “Not as the world gives”
His peace is a gift, it is In Him that you will find it

    He Assists Through Providential Power

The Bible is not Just poetry.
It is not just positive thinking, or good advice
There is Power in His Word
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him” (Rom. 8:28 NIV).
Christians are subject to trials, troubles, and testing like everyone else.
We are not exempt simply because we know Christ.
Yet, in all of these things, He is with us, working them for our good.
God helps his people through providential means. He works everything (good and bad) together for their benefit and his glory (see Rom. 8:28).
    God often rescues his own.
At times he sends his angels to assist. “For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways” (Ps. 91:11).
The bible tells us that many of us have entertained angels unaware
and above all, nothing shall separate us from His love and His power
    Romans 8:35–39 NKJV
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written: “For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” 37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
The Lord Helps His People, and He will surely help you
    Call on Him today
    with all your needs
    with all your thanksgiving
    with all your joys
    and your fears
And if you don’t know Him, then hear His call right now - and answer Him
    He cares for you
