  • The World Will Only Change When We Do

Many Christians have, for years , been praying and fasting for a revival that will never come; at least not for them.
Why, you may ask? Why would God withhold from them so noble a pursuit?
The answer is really quite simple; so simple that it has become the dividing line in the sand for countless believers. Some have even shipwrecked their own faith because of what we are going to address here today.
    1 Timothy 1:18–19 NKJV
This charge I commit to you, son Timothy, according to the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you may wage the good warfare, having faith and a good conscience, which some having rejected, concerning the faith have suffered shipwreck,
I understand that some think it is impossible to do such a thing. Yet, if we will read Scripture contextually and with the aid of the Holy Spirit we will arrive at some shocking conclusions with regard to the state of the modern Church.
The Greater Portion Of Christians Are Worldly
    The Need For Continued Deliverance
The Reason The Church Has Had To Fake It

    Worldliness In God’s House

    John 17:14 NKJV
I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.
This was Christ’s prayer over His disciples that were there with Him and all that were to come. That means He prayed for you and I before we were ever born and sitting here hearing this message.
In this verse, we see several things:
Jesus has given us the Word of God that brought us to life
Because of the Word of God we will be hated as Jesus was/is
Our citizenship is not of this world
This and other supporting verses is where we derive the idea that we are to be IN the world, but not OF the world.
But the Holy Spirit has been doing some eye opening with this preacher right here just this week. This isn’t about me, but it IS about God’s Glory!
The Holy Scriptures reveal to us:
    1 John 2:15–17 NKJV
Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.
    How about it church?
I think it is just about time for us to start casting every worldly thing out of our church, out of our houses, out of our own personal lives because they have come straight from the pit of hell to rob you of the God ordained power you are meant to walk in.
The world around us is going straight to hell because the Church fell asleep playing with the toys come from the world!
But we have to be careful!
It isn’t just “things”such as; movies, cars, fashion, money, or fame.
It isn’t as much the “things” of the world as it is the spirits of this world.
    John 14:30 NKJV
I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming, and he has nothing in Me.
Church, our primary focus right now HAS to be that the ruler of this world has no claim on us!
    Think you have that covered?
    Gossip
    Ephesians 4:29 NKJV
Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.
    Proverbs 16:28 NKJV
A perverse man sows strife, And a whisperer separates the best of friends.
    Matthew 12:36 NKJV
But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment.
    Proverbs 6:16–19 NKJV
These six things the Lord hates, Yes, seven are an abomination to Him: A proud look, A lying tongue, Hands that shed innocent blood, A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that are swift in running to evil, A false witness who speaks lies, And one who sows discord among brethren.
And that is just one attribute of worldliness!
    Galatians 5:19–21 NKJV
Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
When we have churches that claim to move in the power and might of God that have people in leadership supporting LGTBQ agendas, there is something wrong!
We have to call it what it is! It is sin and it will land you square in a devil’s hell!
God has not chosen that life for anyone that has ever lived no matter what they try to tell you scientists say. If God was ok with it He wouldn’t have gone to such great lengths to make sure we knew where the boundaries were.
Listen, once we start compromising, we are on a slippery slope!
But pastor I want them to feel supported; are you willing to follow that thought through to its logical conclusion should that person not repent from their sin? Will you be ok with watching them be bound in chains and thrown into the lake of fire for eternity?
God will not spare us if we choose a life of sin over His love for us.
    1 Peter 4:18–19 NKJV
Now If the righteous one is scarcely saved, Where will the ungodly and the sinner appear? Therefore let those who suffer according to the will of God commit their souls to Him in doing good, as to a faithful Creator.

    The Need For Continued Deliverance

Compromise has touched every single one of us at one time or another, including the man behind the pulpit this morning.
I speak from experience that we need God to continue to deliver us from what we do to ourselves when we let the enemy in.
When we sin, demons declare squatter’s rights. We give a personal invitation to a demon to take up residence in our life.
Most often, they are tied to our flesh in some way, which is why we must walk in the Spirit so we will not fulfill the deeds of the flesh.
    Galatians 5:16 NKJV
I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
Friends, it is no longer good enough to say, I am trying my best. Your best was never going to get the job done in the first place!
I know, preaching like this tends to hurt people’s feelings and sensibilities; but this is not a daycare center, it is the House of the Living God.
I am called to shepherd and prepare God’s people for war in the spiritual realm that the rest of the world is blinded to but enslaved by!
If you are suffering from a religious spirit, and the Holy Spirit has told me who some of you are, it’s time for them to come out. You need to be free and ready to fulfill your calling in Jesus’ name.
Some of you have been so religious for so long you know what every one else’s problem is but you can’t see your own.
    Matthew 7:3–5 NKJV
And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
How do you get the log out of your own eye? You need to be delivered from that thing! It’s going to take Holy Ghost surgery to get it out!
    Good news!
    Joel 2:32 NKJV
And it shall come to pass That whoever calls on the name of the Lord Shall be saved. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be deliverance, As the Lord has said, Among the remnant whom the Lord calls.

The Reason The Church Has Had To Fake It

Many of us have wondered for years what has happened to the Church.
They have focus groups and scholars contemplate the declination of Christianity and seem powerless to stop it. That is sadly because; they are.
Most church leaders have traded their first love for a lust for numbers and notoriety!
They have traded the anointing of God for the accolades of the world
They have trusted their tainted educations instead of the infallible Word of God
They have begun to fulfill the prophecies concerning them; 1 Timothy 4:1-2
    1 Timothy 4:1–2 NKJV
Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron,
If you look at the rest of the passage you can only arrive at the conclusion that Paul is talking about church leaders!!!
    1 Timothy 4:6–7 NKJV
If you instruct the brethren in these things, you will be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished in the words of faith and of the good doctrine which you have carefully followed. But reject profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise yourself toward godliness.
    1 Timothy 4:10–11 NKJV
For to this end we both labor and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of those who believe. These things command and teach.
    1 Timothy 4:16 NKJV
Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you.
When culture supersedes the teachings of Scripture, the Church is in trouble. Therefore, by default, the world is in trouble.
I can no longer tolerate a powerless church. You may say, well pastor isn’t that on you?
I say to you this morning that it is on all of us to hear what the Spirit of God is saying to us right here and right now.
This isn’t just about you and I making it to heaven or not; its about our faithfulness to the call to preach and live out the Gospel so that whosoever will might be saved!
    1 Peter 4:17 NKJV
For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God?
