Most have quick answers to this question

Many think “correct” POLITICS will solve them
Many think that problems can be solved through politics
Solution - elect the right person, the right party - feel better!
Will problems persist? YEP
Politics as an answer leaves lots of gaps, still
TODAY, I HAVE FIVE QUESTIONS RELATED TO THIS QUESTION
Answering a question with more questions
I’d love for you to consider your answers to each
In the end…Be honest with yourself…
I will speak truth
And truth can come across as offensive to those not in the truth
Jesus told Pilate His primary reason for coming was to testify of the truth

So…John 12:48

“He who rejects Me and does not receive My sayings, has one who judges him; the word I spoke is what will judge him at the last day.
His Word, this inspired divine Word, is the authority
(God’s Word is the power that changes believers, so when we get a conversation started, we let God’s Word do the changing)
And Jesus, Himself said: John 3:7

“Do not be amazed that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’
His Word, not mine
Must be born spiritually, that is the “again”
So all this WRONG in the world….Questions I have, and thankfully, God’s Word has the answers
1) How did this happen?
Genesis 3:6 NASB95
…she took from its fruit and ate; and she gave also to her husband with her, and he ate.
Sin - entered God’s perfect, very good Creation
The lie of Satan was believed, and now Adam and Eve would physically die
And they were spiritually separated from God, unless they believed God’s promise in Genesis 3:15

And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her seed; He shall bruise you on the head, And you shall bruise him on the heel.”
The first promise of Messiah, Savior
2) Who is affected?

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Romans 5:12 NASB95
Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned—
Ecclesiastes 7:20 NASB95
Indeed, there is not a righteous man on earth who continually does good and who never sins.
All are born sinners - missing the mark
So naturally, IF we take this seriously…we ask -
3) How can I fix this?
Can I just be good, do all the right things?
Can i just go to church, get baptized, be in the right family…?

For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;
Ephesians 2:9 NASB95
not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.
So, sinners cannot earn salvation - that’s not good
Romans 5:8 NASB95
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
God offers the solution - it is free, it is a gift, to sinners.

4) What’s the big deal?
I mean, so I’m fine with where I am

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Sin requires payment - spiritual payment
Sin WILL be paid for by everyone…
Paid on your own - Death, eternal separation from God, LOF
Paid by Christ’s death - Life, eternal presence of God in Heaven
ALL sin will be paid for and settled - A JUST God sees to that
And…See, either way, DEATH is the payment for sin
Christ’s death pays for sin’s penalty, for those who say yes to the offer
Spiritual death, forever, pays for sin’s penalty, for those who reject the offer
It’s a big and serious choice - eternal choice, actually
5) So, how should I respond?
See, what’s wrong with the world - is SIN
And the only answer to sin is JESUS
He is the only one who lived a sinless, perfect life
Jesus’ solution is the only solution that is permanent, forever, and eliminates every one of those problems (even snakes…)
Jesus provides a wonderful offer
Confess, Repent, Call on the name of the Lord
Romans 10:9 NASB95
that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;
Romans 10:10 NASB95
for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.
Romans 10:11 NASB95
For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in Him will not be disappointed.”
Romans 10:12 NASB95
For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him;

for “Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

This is not a sales pitch, it’s not a membership drive
It’s not a plea for money
What I have shared is the Gospel Truth
Bad news - just being honest
Good news - still being honest
May 5, 2002 - I told God I knew I was a sinner, and I changed the direction of my life, both here and eternally
I asked Him to forgive me for being a sinner
And He said YES
So, one more question, sorry…
What would keep you from making that decision today?
We’ll sing a song soon, you can come and offer your spiritual life to Jesus
Jesus would love for you to say yes to His offer
Satan will tell you - “relax, no hurry, you have plenty of time to decide
TRUTH - You have no guarantee of any time
I urge you, make the decision today
If I offered to pay your water bill, would you say yes?
Jesus would LOVE to hear you say YES to His offer of salvation, it’s been paid
And He will say YES to your asking forgiveness
